A lot of military surplus shops sell some really high quality first aid kits, often coming in convenient zipper canvas pouches. Containing everything from scissors and tourniquets, to basic bandages. I also like to keep anti-venom with me since i often like to take advantage of shore casting positions i come across and we only have one species of venomous snake where im from so i only need one dose of one type.
you deserve to have more subs I have learned more from your channel than any other, I just bought my first kayak last friday and im feeling way more confident with setup and needs heres to hoping it ships this week!!
On long Island Sound the cops check boats to see if they have a bucket, portapotty or whatever and ticket those who don't. Very different world out there from 60 years ago when I first started fishing out there. Way too crowded for me now anyway.
Yea i thought i was keeping my kayak adventure simple. Just a paddle, kayak and a pole i said. Now i have a fully decked out bass fishing machine complete with a pedal controled trolling motor, side imaging, down scan, 2d sonar and mapping. Anchor wizard, deck lights, nav lights, spot lights. Thats not even including the copious amout of rods, reels, and lures i have aquired. Im sure im missing more stuff. Im not gloating about what i have and i feel very fortunate to have such a setup. This is just my warning to others, be careful because you can get sucked into the worm hole, lol. It took me a few years to build my setup and aquire what i have. Just dont think you NEED everything to get started right away. Start small and go slow you will aquire what you NEED in time.
Can the point of having 10+ rods explained to me. I can get having different rods based on whether you're going for smaller panfish or bigger bass but I don't understand guys having so many rods when you can only throw 1 at a time anyways
@freeamerican620 not everywhere is 1 place. Meaning different places have different regulations. Winter I may have 2 lines in the water. Summer I'm allowed 1 line with 2 hooks. Yes a treble counts as 1 hook
I started kayak fishing about 3 years ago. All I added was a rod holder and changed my seat. Kept it stupid simple I usually take only 4 lure and two roads and water a lot of water. I'll stay out there from 6 to 10 hours lol
Man, you are so right my kayak is very heavy I'm 58 Years old and moving my Old Town 120 PLD around can be a beast at times, so I did pick up that Vevor cart after watching your comparison video this cart is a life and back saver. Plus, I saved a few dollars. Great video bro keep 'em coming. Tight lines.
Thanks RV! I was hesitant at first, but seeing as these videos were spread out quite a bit, figured it may be helpful to some. Appreciate your support!
Brother did you see Chad Hoover's video two weeks ago called, " The Most Expensive Fishing Trip Ever!" Ouch that was an expensive trip that most people would not recover from for a long time. Great video I'm definitely supporting you during the Knucklehead competition maybe someday I can land on your team. Take care and God bless.
A PFD and a little extra flotation in the kayak are my must have safety items. And if I were to go out on ant Salt water I'd want an emergency radio/beacon. I bough a 10 foot recreational sit inside kayak and the first thing I did with it was to shove a couple pool noodles in the thing.
Sir I watched a Greg Blanchard video of him fishing in the morning on one lake and then going to another lake to fish. At the dock station they did a thorough walkthrough checked into his hatch and notice just a little water and grind at the bottom and they would not allow him to launch his boat disappointed, but he understood he is such a high class of character and shows us everything. I mentioned this to have a dry pad in your boat also just for that kind of thing to happen. I didn’t remember if you already mention it already or not, so I mentioned it.
For me, the only true non-negotiable safety equipment, is my PFD, and a fully charged phone (strapped). I never go out without those. A good first aid kit is also up there.
Great video, just bought my first Kayak, Old Town PDL 106! For the PFD's remember they need to hold the USCG certification so be careful if you're buying some cheap Chinese one off of Amazon and you get stopped.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEOS! Rod floats aren’t sexy, but thanks to your recommendation I use them and it saved me from losing 3 rods this month when my kayak flipped. (My wife would have lost her mind if $750 went to the bottom of the lake.) Also love how you stress wearing a PFD. It keeps you above water while you get your wits about you, or like you said, if you are compromised and can’t swim at your normal strength.
I joined your FB group recently... about the same time i started watching kayak related videos. Was watching one of your videos and heard you mention the FB group... and said "I just joined that group!" LoL awesome FB group too!
I know most people don't like them, but the visibility aspect is why I got a red kayak. I've had a few close calls on the water in my day and want to give the morons a chance to see me. Kayak color doesn't matter for fishing results either.
Hey @Beardeddadfishing can you please give me and my buddy some advice we bought two 9ft vegabond tsomo top water kayaks we need a pros advice Will we be able to ACE the kayak fishing with these kayaks
Appreciate you watching brother! The whole set up is $450. $250 Impulse Rod and $200 Shimano SLX DC reel. I started out with a $0.98 clearance combo and had it for 2 full years! So ain’t no shame in that my guy!
