Hi, friends! So glad to chat with you today! What are your biggest challenges when it comes to hospitality? Is it the guests, making room for people to disrupt your life, keeping the house clean, managing kids...? Can't wait to chat with you! Thanks for watching today!

As a newly-wed, this was so tough for me! I cringed when I would hear people say "come over anytime!" I couldn't wrap my head around it. But hospitality is key for a good Homemaker and Keeper! Even when it can a challenge, I know those people need to be in my home for a reason. Of course, all in moderation. There is always room for healthy boundaries. But most of the time, WE (I, Me) get in the way of showing compassion and opening the door! Lately, I've grained it into my brain that no matter what (for right now), the first words out of my mouth will be "Come on in!" ..... Oh how sweet those words sound!

I love your perspective on offering your home as a "balm" and recognizing that people need to be there for a reason! Yes, healthy boundaries are soooo important. (We've gone through seasons as a family where we needed to get some time together rather than having people in our home, and it's important to recognize when you need to focus on something like that.) I hope your open door is a blessing for you and those you invite in!

The mechanical/chemical cleaning point is genius! I loathe chemicals (not for any good reason. I just always disliked the smells). So while they have place, I'm just going to stick to mechanical as much as possible from now on.

The smell always gets to me too! Homemade cleaners (vinegar and water, baking soda, etc.) work great too and are safe for using around little kids. ;)

My biggest challenge with hospitality is wanting to invite people over in the first place haha. My home has been in the middle of a renovation mess for the past 6 years practically. My anxiety doesn't allow me to have any desire to invite people over so most of my family hasn't even been over in years.

Oh, yes! I feel you! It's hard for me to get past the projects and imperfections too. 😖But when I do let people into my home--in the midst of the chaos--I rarely regret it. Somehow it usually ends up being an enjoyable time--even in our bit of chaos. (Not always, depending on the person and their pickiness, but usually.)❤
