I hand write in my journals. To me, there's just something impersonal and flat about typed words. I have decorated them, so there's no chance of me destroying them. The way I write, whether print or cursive, neat or messy, tells how I was feeling at the time. I also think keeping journals on the computer gives them more of a chance of being hacked or accidentally erased or lost. At least I know nobody will see these journals unless I want them to. Sure. there are things in there that surprise even me when I go back, but I won't erase them because that was me at the time. I enjoy journaling and am looking for ideas all the time.
I use a usb flash drive, but I've come across a free program called PeaZip and with this you can compress you files and password protect them. If you use a password database to hold onto it. I've done paper and my system of journaling also incorporates that as well as an alternative but I don't beat myself If I use different formats of journaling I put them all under the same umbrella of journalling. I try to be flexible so I can always journal.
you're my fav... you've built an enthusiasm in my life through your words in your books that I've read... "who will cry when you die?" I have covered the book with yellow and have given it a name "Magic Spells For Life..."
Missed my interview, and my holiday due to COVID but i Have my life. So Thanks Robin, reminding me of the beauty of life and most prized the healthy self. Thankyou for clarity about journaling. I had only journaled the positives, but the lessons in life can also re set my perspective to what really does matter. The way forward.
First time I hear about this guy and I'm very impressed. His full video on his site seems to require money or something but that's expected from someone who do this for a living. The good news: this free video is very informative as a whole unlike other speakers that would only give you a small summary before asking for money.
I have been following this habit for 5 years because of you, Robin sir... Journal is a way of having conversation with yourself, with your genius self that we all have within us. Journal helps you to uncover that genius hidden in you. Thank you for making videos and inspiring ordinary to go beyond ordinary.
In a journal that has 100 or so pages to be filled, I decided from the start, to only write on the right page. That way, when I reach the end of the journal, I turn it around and continue writing on the right page. Being a southpaw, I thought it was a good practice for me.
You are an amazing human being, I love your videos, I’m reading your books and I’m starting to do the journal every day . God bless you ❤🙏🏽🤗 sending good vibes to your way .
I love this video and have watched it about 5 times today. Journaling is one of my passions, but this video gave me even more things to write about. Thanks, Robin!
Am I the only one who felt a little deceived that the title was "How to Journal", but all he ever talked about was " Why." He never got to the how. I kept waiting.
The very concept of Alpha state excites the hell out of me...!

mmm brilliant&I love it&thank you,Robin&I will attached this video into my article about how to keep our will power&inner straights high,as I believe on of the strategies is also keeping a journal&well&and this video will serve well my readers, ahh, entirely grateful&I adore you beauty&wisdom
I started using my USB flash drive as my journal. I call it the E-Attache USB flash drive. My top directory is main and everything under it has many different subdirectories. I always copy my folder Main folder and then compress it and save it for that day. I typically use .txt files because in the end those files will be able to be used on any computer from here and in the future. I've done paper journals before and there are good too but I make it flexible so I can use paper, USB flash drive or even stored on my computer. The system is the same.
1. record important events in your life coz your life matters, others will learn from it 2. write about beautiful quotes/ wisdom/ learning you learn from having conversation with people 3. he also pasted beautiful photos in his journal etc...
Yes Sir Robin, It's very important to keep a journal because writing in a journal allows you to transform yourself to be creative, through practice and master around the fundamentals through deep focus in order to achieve the most spectacular results.
I came here after reading one of your books " Who will cry when you die ?" sir . I started to feel a sudden driving force full of self motivation . It was so helpful. The main thing I want to get rid of is 'Being a Jack of all trades and not being a master of anyone .' I can feel the urge to avoid such sort of habit but I fail to do so . So I guess reading many more books would help in doing so . Once again I would like to thank you for helping in making my days better . 😊
Robin, this is amazing! I have always had a tough relationship with journaling (did not up my game or produce tangible results) and now I know why. Thank you! Keep 'em coming!
This has been ur best video as yet Robin! Very practical and inspiring. I've always wanted to write in my journal since the time i started reading ur books 2 yrs back. But only after watching this video i actually started writing. This practice makes me feel so good. Thank u Robin!!
Here it is Marcelle. Click the link and wait until it charges the first 8 minutes. Afterwards you can see Robin's journal. :) www.robinsharma.com/rsss/how-to-keep-a-journal
Came here to learn how to journal but unfortunately didn’t learn how to journal. I just need to know how to write. Isn’t what he’s talking about just writing a diary? What the difference? Will keep searching.
I was hugely suprised that the ending wasn't a scam. I expected the link to the end of the vid to lead to a site which asked for money, or my email address, but it had free vids on it. Nice change :)
Hello I am a chaplain in 2 aged care homes. Can I be at the top of what I do but stay God centred and resident focus. Love your journal video Bless you Grace
There are so many people out there who've watched this video and the first thing they do is purchase a journal. (Some guys could actually sell their journals with this video #marketingstrategy ). There is more to this Vlog than learning to write about your life. Successfull people are not those who write a journal every morning. Sure it is a good thing. The point here is folks to learn to believe in yourself. Dont limit your canvas to an A4 page. If you believe you can, then you surely will!
I was really struggling with my self-confidence. The way I changed this is through trying to convince myself that I can do everything and making small things on my personal progress. Every little change you achieve will boost your confidence. Kind of a virtuous circle! The one thing that really helped me to do so was Forwago and I am so thankful because I found about it.
Why click bait when its not about money Robin ? Really disappointed to see him saying "I'll let you in my journal" & not following it through. Don't get me wrong, I respect you & thank you for all the inspiration and great thoughts. But this was a little sneaky and its like a dent on your spotless Ferrari ! (Yes, the one monk sold)
@@Kris-hk6wd This video is free and of great value, Robin literally shares how he journals about and you might want to do that too, free advice and inspiring you to do this. It's free to do so... so what about money? Yes of course he earns money from his work, but there is no way he says: "you can't watch this video without paying". You don't have to buy anything. Robin shares from the heart, because he cares and he gives away a lot for free without ever pushing you to go buy something. Just like you and everyone else he has to make a living as well. And we all deserve a good one. So I don't really understand your point...
Great video! Using a journal is one of those things I never got around to do, but after watching the video, I am sold :) I have my "dream board" in my office but I never thought about also have my goals, purposes in a journal. Great ideas I am sure going to implement! Thanks Robin
Which app do you guys use for journaling? Also, at what time interval do you guys revisit your past journals? The dread of revisiting the same generally keeps me off it. Weird, but yes 😔
Hello esteemed Robin, i am aware this video is from 2013 but feels so important even today and I would love to be able to see withing your journal, the link doesn't work. I hope you will update it.
Ideation without execution is delusion.. This is the best one liner that can help u overcome procrastination. Because we keep thinking of the idea of it.. We rarely put it into action. Make a note of what u want to achieve for the year and just do it. Don't let anyone or anything they say stop you. Infact don't let them know. Once it's done, still don't let them know. We don't need to boast about our laurels. We need to achieve laurels from God not human beings.
