My parents just taught me to believe the oven was always hot as a kid. I thought of it kind of like a gun. We we're supposed to act like it was always on so we didn't get burned. Kids get into everything, I know that. I've raised many niece's and cousins and I actually have one of my own on the way. Ive never had a problem with one of them climbing a freakin stove. Teach your kid some common sense and some boundaries and you won't have to worry about a stove falling on them.

One of my earliest memories is my dad spilling boiling water on himself while he was canning. He was transported by ambulance to the emergency room. It was not easy for a fully grown man and I can't imagine how much worse it would be for a kid to have boiling water poured on them. BTW my Dad is fine now. He's one of the strongest and most hardworking men on the planet. Even when it hurts him he makes sure his family has what we need/ed. I'm always happy when I can help him and my mom even though it's small.

I’m a teenager so I don’t have my own home yet but our oven (along with other appliances) is stuck to the wall. It’s been like that since my older siblings were younger my mum would always tell me not to go near it even when it was off too. My young niece comes round to our house sometimes she’s not old enough to crawl yet but once she is we’ll know she is safe!

The other issue is if it’s a gas stove and it tips over won’t that break the gas line or pull the gas line out of wall causing a possible explosion? Or at least a gas leak? So for many reasons it would be a good idea to get this fixed. 😁👍
