Yes, the tobacco will tell you when to draw. Sometimes if it’s going out, I’ll blow a little puff off air out/back through the tobacco, and it works like a campfire: oxygen ignites the flame and the tobacco comes right back 💨

Keeping it in my mouth between puffs REALLY helped. And letting it go and, and briefly rest before relighting also seems to have solved my pipe going out. These were the missing pieces. Awesome vid, thanks.

I have the Sherlock Holmes Hounds of Baskerville Pipe it's my favorite. My favorite tobacco is from a shop in Vero Beach 'The Pipe Den' - "Royal Poinciana" great blend, Light with beautiful room notes

Most tobacco is too moist from factory. I dry my tobacco just enough to hear it crackle when held up to the ear pinching fingers. I speed dry some in a bowl in front of my pellet stove air distribution. Tobacco has to be dry to stay lit.
