A lot of people are mentioning how you can hit them with a net to get the thought bubble to go away. This is halfway true. It does go away and let you talk to them like normal, but the bubble will return to them shortly after. You cant get it to transfer to all of your neighbors this way. Or maybe my game just hates me.
Also, if a thought bubble appears on your villager and you enter a building (museum, nooks cranny, house, etc.) and the thought bubble is still there after you exit the building, then it is 100% asking to move out. If the thought bubble disappears when you exit the building, it was probably a trade favor, or them giving you an item or them asking you to buy their items.
I personally love getting campsite villagers. And much more than villager hunting. This is because instead of having dreamers I find cool new villagers that I didn’t even know that I loved so much. That’s how I got two of my favorite villagers, Stella and Katt.
I agree with you, most of the times I go villager hunting always goes wrong. But campsite villager hunting is more entertaining to me.It's also a bit annoying but really fun. ^^
Same! I love when villagers show up at my campsite. Plus that's how I found my precious Flurry and Bluebear!! 🥰 I honestly wish campsite visitors would visit more often, I only get MAYBE 1 a month and I feel like they should show up every 3-5 days. Unless maybe you just moved someone in, then at most it would be a week before you see an other camper
I actually found a quicker way- Discuss the resident you want to move out with Isabelle, make sure it’s the way they talks one. Next day they get that thought bubble to move out. This has worked for me 3 times Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, I don' t know why it works for some but not others, but try this if you want!
i thought discussing the villager was to reset them, as in if you are 6 years old and have an older sibling set the character to say some not great things.
I will look into this method when I play again. I really want Barold off my island Update: I was gonna try the method but Barold had a thinking bubble over his head so I went into Town Hall and walked out just to see if he still had the thinking bubble and he did he's moving out. Now I can now hunt for Ankha my 3rd favorite villager.
I have had a most recent villager ask to move, I specifically remember because it was after the frustration of a long hunt for him. I have also had someone ask to leave before the reported 15 day wait period. Also, if you go into the tent with your pocket full they will recognize they cannot play any game with you except for the one helping them decide whether to move or not. It saves soooo much time.
How do the animal Crossing amiibo's work? Do I need the figurine? The card? Some code? And how do I have to get the game to register that I'm using the amiibo? I'm not very familiar with the entire amiibo mechanic, so I don't want to accidentally buy the wrong thing for nothing
@@BeepBoopBee either the card, nfc, or figurine will work (nfcs are like mini versions of the cards) all you need to do is use the machine in resident services and invite a villager to your campsite, then touch either the bottom of the figurine or either side of the card or nfc to your right joystick
@@WolfArtizan stop i had like a list of dreamies for my island and lolly was my number 1 like the one i wanted the most n i got her 3! tickets in 😭 my proudest moment
It’s odd that I miss villagers moving out on their own. I feel bad making them leave (despite them being programmed characters and not actual animals), although I find myself just telling them they can go whenever they ask just to see something new
honestly same, there's only 1 villager that I've held hostage and has forced to stay on my island and that's teddy. the next victim will be barold. once I get my grubby little hands on barold neither of them will leave my island.
@@ryans6442 yea that's true too, I think that's why everyone's opinion on a villager is based on how ugly or pretty a villager is. if the villagers had more personality like in the older games, animal crossing would be alot more enjoyable
It's actually not true that the most recent villager doesn't ask to leave. I had that happen to me before with rodney, he asked to leave after a few days despite being the last one to move in.
Yes! 100% it just takes a certain amount of time of them living on the island before they ask to leave.i don't know how long that is, but Chai was my most recently moved in and she's asked to leave a few times since I got her a few months ago
Yes! I’m pretty sure there’s a cool down of two weeks before the villager can move out, but I had Julian and he moved out just after the cool down period. I also had Rodney (and although I ignored him so he would leave) the same thing happened. In a way, if you get a new villager you don’t like, it’s much easier to manipulate them into leaving, because for the cool down period you can just ignore them :0
I do enjoy the aspect of getting a dreamie or a famous villager via Campsite. Even though I don’t enjoy the tedious task of having to go through so much dialogue to convince the villagers to move onto your island. But still, when you get the campsite villager to move out the one you want off. Ahh, it feels so good!
I saw on another video that if you fill your pockets full they won't ask you to play so many games. It does work. Not sure if I should say her channel name
i got raymond through campsite the day after using 100 nmt to villager hunt, i had to kick out marty when i wanted to kick out plucky, it didnt give me a choice, but i kicked marty anyway
Villager Hunting was a great addition. Being able to allow the player to hunt for their dreamies and never forcing them out warning. Really smart move.
I understand the whole cooldown thing - I'm not a time traveler so it's very annoying - but I had Margie asking to move out the day Phoebe moved in, I've been wanting Margie gone for a long time 😄
One frustrating thing that I always experience is that villagers that I want to kick out never leave their house, never find them outdoors. Three days have passed and I still have not been able to kick out the villagers because she never goes out. Frustrated.
Stuff that requires you move forward a certain amount of days works if you go back a day and forward again, if you want to rush villagers out without actually going forward in time. Works to spam models from Flick and CJ as well. Just did a bunch of renovations to my island this way and had three villagers naturally move out with the thought bubble.
I've tried this one method of repeatedly interacting with a villager, then not chat with them. Do that until there's a dark scribble over their head. They might think about moving out eventually if you bug them enough (that and bashing them over the head with a net until they're pissed off) It's not guaranteed, but it kinda worked when I was trying to get Rizzo off my island
This is interesting! I always thought villagers asked to move more frequently if you had a lower town score. I felt like they asked more when I was 3 stars.
I did this last week. I ended up going nearly a month out before I could get someone whose photo I already had to get a thought bubble. But I kicked out three villagers in that time! Whitney (replaced Beau) and Audie (replaced Victoria) were back to back campsite visitors. Finally Axel asked to leave and Dom took his place.
I found that even with time traveling it takes so much/a lot longer with Southern islands. I have both a Northern and a Southern island and it takes forever ♾ and a half for someone to actually want to move out on my Southern island.
This is very helpful! I actually didn't know that you could choose which villager you wanted to boot when you use an amiibo card...I've had Bud(my favorite)'s card for almost half a year now.
extra tips: if you use the net to smack a villager with the thought bubble it will make them stop thinking and the bubble will transfer to another villager quicker than if you you just left them alone when the villager you want to leave is outside, blockade their house door so it forces them to stay outside, otherwise they might go inside and they cant ask to leave while inside
@@KarateLauren in my experience they only teleport inside when you save and quit, ive never had them go inside if the door was blocked and i hadnt left the game
@@pasgetti8798 they can teleport if they are off screen. I was literally talking to Goldie and went to have a lengthy convo with Stu, went up to the neighborhood- which is far from where I was and she was in her house chillin lol.
Omg thank you so much for this!! I've just spent SO many evenings time travelling to try and get rid of a villager who turned up randomly (I forgot to play on the right day for villager hunting), and couldn't understand why he never had the thought bubble! Now I understand... he was my most recent villager 🤦
Out of my three favourite villagers, Fauna I got from amiibo, one I got from a random island first try and the other was there at the start. Some advice for random islands is be kinda picky. Don’t get a villager just because they’re not awful. I did that recently, and soon after Penny was in the campsite and I couldn’t fit her in.
I've started collecting amiibo cards and I'm trying to recreate my original town from 20 years ago on the gamecube, with all the same villagers, so that's how I'm doing it.
The thought bubble will persist if you close the game and reopen it if you got a 'buy my item' dialogue box or something similar instead of a move out option on a villager, you can't use this to move the 'move out option' to a villager but you can jump the thought around all your villagers until you figure out who it is on that specific day. The thought bubble can appear to disappear because its the same trigger as the villager calling your attention from afar and running to you so if that also happens you can close the game and get another thought bubble if you don't talk with them. Hope this helps someone out :)
For some reason I love almost all the villagers I ever get because they're freaking adorable and I always get unique ideas from them like candy when I was talking to her today I was talking to Changi she legit made me have a pop quiz I feel like that's something that most m-class and players don't experience that much it was about what costume of wear to a costume party
I've also noticed that if you see a villager with the thought bubble and you don't want them to leave, just hit them with your net and they snap out of it 😂
The osts are giving me so much nostalgia it makes me sob... especially the first one, it makes me remember those carefree week end mornings I played Animal Crossing Wild World and New leaf, the good old time when the only difficult thing I had to do was to wake up early to go to school.
I'm new to Animal Crossing, and just got New Horizons on my switch. My very first campsite villager was a blue cat called "Raymond", and he's adorable. This video was very helpful trying to get an ugly villager to move too.
You got Raymond as the first camper because he is a smug personality. Only smugs are able to visit the campsite as the first villager for some reason. That happened to me too lol
2:53 background track gave me such a huuuuge load of nostalgia I almost started crying I forgot the name of the track though sadly which is why I couldn't find it
I had no idea about all of this. I tend to just let Villagers move out whenever they ask. (except for 1 instance when I had gotten them to move in only, like 15 days ago, I must have gotten a different villager to move in a day after them to not be the most recent)
If you get a villager asking to move out who you would like to stay, close the game. don't worry it will most likely save your island without saving the cooldown.
I’ve honestly not even gotten to that aspect of the game very much yet. I’ve got all the villagers currently that I am content with so I can finish my island. But…are they ever really finished? 😆 I check the campsite. But as you’ve seen…it’s not good 💀
Oooh awesome! I got my first ever AC amibo cards today for the new series and actually got a villager i really want xD So glad to know I can do the amiibo method to get them in quicker XD
recently kyle asked me to play a scavenger hunt w him n i dont think any other villager had asked me to play a mini game w them before but maybe thts bc of the latest update lol i definitely think there should b new personality types!
Thanks for this video 😁 I have been trying to figure out how to get Drago off my island because I had a empty plot left on my island because a villager before him wanted to move out and after so many days of no one living there Drago came in automatically 😔
I’ve time traveled for more than 2 month and none of my villagers had a though bubble I’ve tried time traveling more than 4 times and tried only talking to the one i want gone; tried talking to all of the other villagers; did not talk to anyone. And still no though bubbles on moving out I have 10 villagers Date: since 15 of october
I was so sad. I got a campsite villager that I really wanted (Beardo) but the random villager he picked to move out was a villager I absolutely wanted to keep (Diana) :(
Actually one of my newest villagers *did* ask to move out, which I was very happy about because I loathed them. I accidently left the plot open too long and in the moved... but yeah I almost never talked to them and mostly just ignored them until one day they had the thought bubble over their head and wanted to move out!! Luckiest thing that's happened to me in this game so far lol
@@chleo9415 I got Canberra, and Flip. I was on the fence at first when it came to Canberra, but I grew to like her in the end. Flip, on the other hand, needs to go.
I got Sly and Mira on my first island. I loved Sly and hated Mira (I don't like the sisterly personality at all, and Mira's look is just not nice; I have a pet peeve when it comes to the villagers having humanlike full lips, it's gross). Sadly Sly, despite me giving him presents every day, was my second villager to leave after Cranston (part of those 3 villagers you design houses for) left after like 3 days. I wanted Mira to leave so badly for ages, and it took months until she pissed off. Because I have empathy (unlike some players lmao), I wasn't about to hit her on the head with a net every day. On my second island I have Goose and Reneigh, and as Reneigh is a sisterly I want her gone. I like Goose, however.
Mine were Renee and teddy they are both really cool, but I'm thinking of moving them out soon, just because I had them for so long and I kind of want some different villagers now
So Apollo just showed up at my campsite and after 15 mins of trying to get him to come to my island he finally said yes and picked the villager that I want to move out!
0:36 I hate waiting for somebody to leave & im like “FINALLY” & I tak to them for them to say “hey I have a new reaction” my goal is to ignore them so I have a better chance of them leaving,
Bonus Tip! If you buy some nfc tags, you can write the amibo of the villager that you want directly onto it! They have to be a certain kind of nfc tags, and you have to have something to write to them, but the tags are usually cheap, and most modern phones have some nfc capability. And there are plenty of guides online of how to do this!
5:16 Lol, I got Lolly at the beginning of the game (I played the game in 2020 but recently restarted less than a week ago) on my first try! I was so happy! Also thanks for this tutorial. ❤
Molly came to my campsite and i didnt know that u could manipulate who they swap with and she said beu so i had so suck it up and swap them 😢 it haunts me to this day
I thought it was a great feature when it kicked out someone I really hated. But otherwise, after a while it only brought me anxiety about not playing the game for a bit. I was constantly scared of logging into NL to find my dreamies gone. So much that I kinda stopped playing NL for 2 years.
i’ve seen people say that it stayed true to the game because they used to advertise it as the game that kept going even when you didn’t play so I did agree with that! however it did stress me the heck out haha I was always scared of my favs leaving
At least give us the option to make somebody move out through Isabelle, if I wanna “Discuss a villager”, it’s ‘cause I want ‘em gone, not to change a catchphrase, we’re the island representatives damnit
Ugh I had no idea about the most recent villager not wanting to move!! I have almost all of my dreamies and when I finally had my 10th plot open, I was villager hunting for kody (who wasnt being sold on nookazon by anyone) and instead found one of the 2.0 villagers. I immediately brought Sasha home with the intent to move him out and I time traveled in total 5 months and he’s never had a bubble. Now I know I’ll have to spare a dreamie for him to move
I had my last starter, Stinky, move out about a week ago. I was time traveling around because I had seen Celeste the day before but hadn’t talked to her. And was trying to grow some bushes. I didn’t realize that time traveling would randomly move someone in to my empty plot. Somehow Judy moved in
Awesome luck right there! It took me 23 tickets to find Judy and 25 for Raymond. I somehow think that's luck for me. However, I think them moving in unexpectedly is the coolest way. So lucky!
1:20 This actually isn't true. I've been trying to get a villager to move out for weeks. I have gotten each and every single villager (sometimes the same one after each thought bubble, which means that the thought bubble CAN stay on the same villager) to have the thought bubble to move out EXCEPT for the one I need to move. Even if I'm best friends with the ones I like, they'd want to move. There is no correct answer nor method to get villagers to move. **Ignoring them doesn't work* **ruining your friendship with them doesn't work* **No method works. None. You just have to hope and pray that you get lucky.
They should just make the villager thing be like a BNB thing where the villagers are more like vacationers that pay you for their stay on their island. Those who you want to stay you take care more for them to stay more and those who you least like just cycle out of the island to give way for new vacationers.
