Thank you for showing how you knit this, Ive never used circular needles and I wasn't sure how to to do this at all. I am such a newbie at this I appreciate it when the maker doesn't assume I already know how to do each step!! Thank You Thank You!!!
I"m 3d printing a CSM, and turning the heel and making a toe kinda terrify me. Knowing that this is possible, and your instructions are so clear, I"m not as afraid of my new toy anymore!! If I fail at turning, I'll just make my tube, and keep going!!!
What a wonderful experience being with you through this lovely patient and very helpful video. I sure needed this info as I can NEVER find ANY socks that fit my feet. At last, after more than 30 years, I will actually have custom made socks thanks to your tech. Loved your voice and approach. I also wear "thick" socks even in summer, as I too always have cold feet - but a warm heart like you. Thanks.
Great tutorial. The foot measuring advice is really helpful. I do pull my needles through to just the cord when I cut so I have more space to work. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much for this tutorial. You made so easy to understand. I agree with others, you should be making more tutorials or podcasts. I know it’s a lot of work, but you are very good. Cheers
This kit is genius! Folks will be thankful for you taking the time to make this informative video. Cutting your knitting can be scary....but after that first snip....you open up a whole new world of knitting don’t you.... Well done!
I love this video! I am trying to figure something out. Once you separate the tubes, you have a “top” and a “bottom.” It looks like when you start the heel, you add it from the bottom end first. With adding the toe and the cuff, you are knitting one of the two sort of upside down on the existing tube of knitting. How do you handle that, knitting off the left leg of the stitch?
Надо же, впервые вижу такую технику вязания. У нас, в Казахстане, такие наборы не продают. Техника интересная, но вязать самим намного быстрее и проще. Я, например, за 1 час вяжу пару следиков на двух спицах. Wow, this is the first time I've seen such a knitting technique. We, in Kazakhstan, do not sell such sets. The technique is interesting, but knitting yourself is much faster and easier. For example, I knit a pair of slippers on two needles in 1 hour.
I just bought an Erlbacher Speedster and found your wonderful video. I measured my size 8 foot and got 9.5”. You have a size 6 foot that measures 9.25”. I’m confused. Shouldn’t mine measure longer?
Nice video. Thank you. When you mark the top of each 1/4 of the tube, then when you knit the four cuffs, that works great. However, when you start to knit the toes, your knitting against the spiral (opposite direction of the spiral). Doesn't that leave a gap? Thanks!
Thank you Shelley. I love my DPN’s and use them for all my socks. What do you think about using them for your cranked sets? Looking forward to getting mine!!!
There is a few reasons why... 1. You would need to know exactly how long to crank each tube ahead of time. People who crank tubes and sell them usually just crank it into one tube. Then you can decide how long to make your socks. 2. You have to put a different color of waste yarn in between each tube, and you would still have to pick up all your stitches after for each tube. This is less waste. 3. It’s no more tedious than picking up your stitches for your heels and toes and cuffs.
