This is the best video showing how to do this I have watched so far! Thank you for taking the time to show exactly what the yarn is supposed to do at each end!
You are a freakin’ goddess-thank you SO much for this wonderful how-to guide. I have watched SO MANY other videos on how to make a panel, and it’s just ended in frustration. I think the issue is others don’t get close enough and linger enough for me to actually SEE what the yarn is doing, whereas you do, and that helps immensely. Again, thank you! P.S.: I’ve never seen the inside of a knitting machine before! That was so fascinating, so thank you for including that as well! It definitely helped with me understanding how exactly this machine does what it does.
Thank you for demystifying why people don’t use the panel setting and why the Addi has three needles that are different than the others. I could not for the life of me figure out why you would need three needles. But after watching your video it finally clicked. I am a person that wants to know why things work the way they do. So your videos are by far some of the best I’ve seen. I do have to put on close captioning because you are so softly spoken but it doesn’t matter. Because I have finally learned how these machines work. I don’t have one yet because I have so many craft items already that I really need to de-stash before I add yet another toy. But when I do I will finally know enough that I will feel confident that I can make it work!
Brilliant thank you for the short to the point tutorial, so many others waffle on and you get lost. Thank you, I'm looking forward to following and learning new techniques. ❤
Very helpful video, very clear instructions. Now I finally understand the mechanics and what the machine is doing and what I’m looking for. Thanks for sharing🤗
Thank you so much for this! I'm having insane trouble with the first and last stitch. They keep bunching up and not knitting properly and I'm not sure how to go about fixing it. I've watched so many tutorials and nothing has helped my ends :(
You have to cast onto the machine. If you just put the working yarn in the machine and started spinning the whole thing would unravel. Depending on how you cast on you have to finish your edges off. I explain more in this video: 4 Cast on Methods ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JN5to9dtsMA.html
The same way you do in the round. Remove the yarn from the guide and place it in the middle of the machine. Have some waste yarn on a darning needle, and as you spin the machine pick up each stitch and place it onto the waste yarn.
I cast on ,go to do a panel and after a few rows ,my stitches are not on the machine, suddenly in the middle of my knit they come off , not one or two but normally three or four , it's been going on for days now, so I unpick the lot, and start again, I've done a e wrap , and a normal cast on, still the same problem, I've pulled the yarn still the same, what am I doing wrong, also I've notice that my first three stitches come off around the same time, so I end up with four to six not knitting at all , HELP !! is it me, I am going slowly crazy .
Are you sure the yarn is in the correct places? You should have a loop around the little teeth and the new yarn should be going under the needle and then pulled into the machine, then on the next row the yarn on the teeth is flipped over the top of the needle and the yarn from under the needle wraps around the teeth. It takes 2 rows for a stitch to form and the yarn has to be in the right position on both rows or the stitch will fall off and unravel or create a tucked stitch.
@@emilysmith2784 you asked if anybody wanted to see more about how the machine works. Your paragraph above thoroughly confuses me. It’s probably because I don’t yet have a machine. But if you have the time to make a tutorial on exactly how this machine works it would give me a little more confidence into buying one. Because I have so many crafty things already, I have to have a fairly good idea that I’m going to be able to actually use a new toy before I spend the money on it.
@@emilysmith2784 I realize that most people don’t want to know how it works but I have a mechanical bend but I don’t have a machine to take apart. So don’t worry about it but it was really nice of you to offer and I will be double checking to see what you’ve been up to anyway!
