Honestly great to see someone who’s really engineering their patterns and thinking in 3D. Although I’m stuck as heck right now because I’m feeling creative on constructing loom patterns on this and don’t have the right screwdrivers to strip the machine. I don’t know why they can’t be supplied ready to use. No wonder most people give up on them. I’d love to see more of your creativity on how to really construct items as these machines have real potential! Very innovative design you have there! ♥️

@@emilysmith2784 I LOVE the Bond. I've made hats and scarves, lap blankets for those in wheelchairs, etc. for our homeless and Vets for more than 25 years. As I've gotten older, I've had surgeries on my hands, I can't produce as much as I want by hand. God bless this is a lot of work, thanks for the tutorial it was very clear and helpful question: do you knit with needles at all? if you do is this easier and/or faster for you? I knit with needles and to me it just seems faster and less complicated to cable stitch that way but I've never tried with a machine so I don't have that perspective happy knitting!
@emilysmith2784
@emilysmith2784 2 года назад
No. I don’t knit with needles. I could never master it. I can knook which is knitting with a crochet hook and I do find knitting the base of the project on the machine and then doing afterthought cables quicker but this video is mostly aimed at those who cannot knit by hand. Thanks for the comment ☺️

When doing strips, is there any maths to consider like multiples of 9's? Can you do bigger cables that are 12 stitches wide?
@emilysmith2784
@emilysmith2784 Год назад
I would say to make the strip longer than your project as you can always rip it back if its too long. It shouldnt have to be too much longer, maybe an extra 2-3 rows for every 10 rows of your project just to be safe. If you end up experimenting let us know your findings

? since you go 5 rows before you attach, does that mean the cable is not fully attached?
@emilysmith2784
@emilysmith2784 2 года назад
At the start you do 2 rows before you attach. You need to have a few rows between attaching or you won’t have the length you need to cross. But no, the cable isn’t fully attached as it would be in traditional knitting. I am however working on a new technique where it will be (hopefully). 😉
@relaxingclips7697
@relaxingclips7697 2 года назад
How did you know to attach markers every 6 rows on the cables and where to attach markers on the panel that you stuck the cables to? I assume you used a regular hand knitted cable pattern and then converted it. Could you share that pattern written down? If it is not too hard. I just feel it would be easier for me to follow than with the video alone. If you can't share the pattern written down, I just want to thank you for the work you did so far, as I have enjoyed all your videos.
@emilysmith2784
@emilysmith2784 2 года назад
It was trial and error to figure out 6 rows. Any less and the strip would not reach, any more and the strip was too loose. Sorry I don’t have a written pattern to offer.
