May I say, I live in Texas. Ladies get cold here due to the air conditioning all summer or from losing weight and it gets cold here and all the way to both coasts in winter and cool springs like this year. My grandma would sit in the sun in a crocheted sweater in 80 to 85 degrees declaring she couldn't get warm. So if you would still like to create shawls etc and even start a group, I am certain you could get a lot done and warm not only the bodies but the hearts. I'm trying to go on from crocheting granny squares to a fuller crochet and try to learn to knit. I am 60 and have depression and other things including joint pain and cptsd. It would mean a lot if someone made me a shawl. I can make my own but it's the kindness I would feel because nobody has ever made me anything like this. 😊 It would be a blessing to you and to recipients.
I believe size 11 needle for the shawl & size 13 needle to bind off. Size 13 needle will make binding off not as tight as possibly size 11 needle would do. Can use size 11 needle to bind off just watch your tension.
I am knitting a Blanket for a lady 48 with stage 4 Liver cancer, I've chosen a nice mint green Yard yesrerday, that I Purchased almost 2 years ago.So I thought it would be a nice gesture to make her a warm Blanket......thinking even further I thought it could be a Prayer Blanket........knowing now what I've heard in you're Video........I know the rest how to get it done. I'VE chosen a Corner to Corner knitted Style......what I would like would be Prayer Card that goes along with it.......thank-you ( secession )
