Launching the paraglider properly is a task that can be difficult at times. Doesn't matter if you are a beginner or advanced pilot, chances are that you had some bad launches too. I had a lot of fun making this video and I hope I explained well enough all the aspects of a correct forward paragliding launch. The first launch is at 06:54. If you have any questions, write them in the comment section. Check out my awesome paragliding adventures: cutt.ly/yrrWMnI. LIKE and SUBSCRIBE if you enjoyed the video. I appreciate!
The twist to attach it to your carabiner is a bit fault-sensitive. A better method is to lay the risers over you shoulder with the A-lines on top and attach it to the carabiners which you hold upwards, but always with the open on the inside. This is only possible in 1 way and always correct. If you use the twist-method and twist it the wrong way, your lines are tangled.
Thank you for the video it helped me fix my beginner issues. Especially the tip for very low wind to get running momentum starting next to the trailing edge!
Interesting, please don't take this as criticism. I find it interesting to see different ways and variants. We (just) learned at our school that mostly the rookies of us made the beginning impulse to strong and have been focusing lately on a smoother initial impulses for pulling the wing up. Max 2 steps behind the line center. The wing rises more open on the trailing edge and fills up quicker. After that, when the wing is just above ground running speed, of course, needs to be increased.
Yes, I know. I heard that theory too. Is ok, m8, I don't take it in a bad way. If you got no wind at all, the 2 steps won't help. In the moment I pulled, I had 0 wind. I tried off camera with just 2 steps and I was just dragging the wing behind me. I can run pretty fast and it didn't help at all. Of course most of the times the conditions are not as bad as I had them in my video (zero wind). Usually when you take off, you are on a hill, or a mountain. The wind is usually stronger there than on a meadow. 2 steps are normally enough, but not for me in that wind situation. I wish you a lot of fun flying✌️
@@Dvybz thx for that reply. Yeah it is definitely easier to get it up and it is absolutely safe with more impulse. Both ways have advantages in certain situations. That's why I love videos like yours. Seeing all the variations, try them out all, master them all and decide what to keep. Happy flying and always safe landings to you, too 😊👏🏼
@@xistsixt way to go! I developed my own paragliding style and worked on my skills everytime I had the chance. See what works best for you, buddy. Thanks for the support 👍
@@Dvybz absolutely 💪🏼, keep it up, I'm looking forward I'm no editing pro, maybe you still interested to watch my first very basic yt flying video? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rpLU1p3reT0.html
@@xistsixt wow, that's dope, man. Very nice flying, thermaling, enjoying the wonder of feeling like a bird. I wish you many more beautiful flights like this one. Great location up in the mountains. Awesome 360° view ✊🏼
It was a pleasure to make this video 👍🏼 I am happy to hear that it was helpful and you appreciate it. I hope I explained everything as good as possible. Have fun flying 😉
I don't think a big impulse is needed even if there is no wind. But rather a progressive acceleration. Check this comparaison : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jLbnB7lXzgM.html
I got you. I watched the video and it is of course working like that too. I should have maybe gone a bit more in the depth of the forward launch, but I wanted to keep it easy. 2 small steps could have maybe been enough but I wanted to make sure that everyone doing that, can achieve an inflation in zero wind. Thanks for the vid and comment ✌️
It was nice filming and editing this video. The harness came like that. Red and green. But I think they can be changed to other color too. I think is cool to have 2 different ones... Is a bit funky 😅
@@Dvybz I like it even more because maybe Im stating the obvious, but it lines up with Air and Sea NAV Lights Port Red Starboard Green! www.simpleplanes.com/Forums/View/763150/Navigation-Position-Lights
Tons of thanks brother for such informative and helpful video, as watching and commenting at second day of may paragliding journey, thanks for your effort and knowledge share.
Glad to help whenever possible, mate. I know how shitty it is when people don't explain something properly and it's just frustrating. I tried to explain as good as possible every single step. I appreciate your support and nice message. Have fun flying, keep learning and enjoy yourself 😀
That's really good to hear. Thanks a lot for appreciating 😉. I tried to explain as good as possible and to show the right way of doing it step by step. Very glad it helped ✌
I'm enjoying your videos, but a couple of points: 1)Forward launching means there's insufficient wind for reverse launch.... ...so it's MUCH safer to put the harness on the ground, and attach the risers without being clipped in. You can then check everything is connected correctly, including the speed-bar links, radio, vario, etc, and put your helmet and gloves on, at your own pace = no errors. There's NO chance of a sudden gust dragging you, while you have made a mistake attaching the wing to the harness. 2) Setting the wing in an inverted V-shape is best. Certainly on higher cert. wings. 3) Forward launching means the conditions are not ideal for flying, so ALWAYS forward launch with another pilot. He/she can check your wing when you start your run, and shout "STOP!!!" if they see a problem. Regards, Simon
Thanks a lot for the feedback. Yeah, I will keep this in mind. I know it is safer to put the harness on when everything else is done... I should have mentioned that in the video. The focus of the video was more the technical procedure of the forward launching itself but I think I could have mentioned the 100% safe way of doing it 👍🏼
@@Dvybz i don't know why i thought you were latin :) I was in Romania before and i like it! By the way i watched your video last night, and today i flew in a paraglider and your teachings worked perfectly! thank you!
@@theochalloner Yeah, definitely forward launch with 0 wind 😅. I hope nothing happened to your engine or propeller. Sounds good, man. I wish you safe take offs and beautiful flights 👌🏼
The chest strap was the last one I closed. If you mean the little thingy kind of strap... Well, that is not necessary. Is just giving you an extra safety feeling but it does not really matter. I used to close that little black strap too but that was years ago. Sometimes I still close, just like that.
