Here are some tips, tricks, and common mistakes when it comes to launching a paramotor. Always remember, if something doesn't feel right, just abort! Meanwhile, it is getting properly cold in NJ so I might have to put a windscreen and skis on the trike. 😂 Stay tuned!

@nitro200flyer3 3 года назад
@@samik83 Not every time I fly ..But Every new day I flying and most of the time I fly 2 or 3 hours been known to put 4 hours on my Nitro in the same day.. that being said it takes less then a min to crab the digital torque wench and torque the 4 nuts to the 23 Nm as part of a good pre-flight so why not ? I would honestly say that more then half the time i find one or two of the nuts needing 15 to 20 min turn to get back to specs and BTW 65 hours now on my newly rebuilt piston and cylinder because of an air gap in the cylinder gasket at 35 hours because I was not torqueing the nuts often enough .I will cladly error in redundancy and over kill also I purchased a endoscope and inspect my cylinder every 5 hours or so to catch anything before it gets catastrophic. I Love my Nitro and I think with proper preventive maintenance and inspections it can easily be the most dependable motor on the market .

As a novice paraglider pilot it's very nice to see this in the typical Tucker Gott high-quality picture and narration detail. I am in school and that's crucial but instructors can hardly show it from the perspectives shown in these video.

Another great vid, thanks Tucker. For me, the transition from leaning forward as the wing comes up to leaning back and relying on the thrust to keep you from falling was the hardest part of launch for me during training. I think experience and confidence helps.

I really enjoy the Tips type of video as well so by all means please do more of this type. I read the comment that some people always do reverse launches even in calm to no wind and apart from it being nearly as easy I also know some folks with shoulder impingement, muscular issues or a handicap that the Forward launch really puts uncomfortable stress on them so doing reverse launches solves that issue for them.

Tucker that was awesome, I now understand the basics of how the wing is manipulated to effect control..cool thing! I imagine sections of the wing like overlapping control surfaces that mix together depending on pitch, yaw inputs. Pendular stability & lead-lagcoupling.. Directional control on reverse launch has to feel like "RC plane coming TOWARDS" perception to students! "WOAH!" factor till clicks. Is so cool. Seeing the foreward lean with power comparison an undeniable view of eminent doom! Gets point across how it runs launch..like wheelbarrowing an airplane down a runway when it's ready to rotate.. Like I said, awesome "HOW it works video! Thanks!

Thanks, I definitely learnt a thing or two here! I'm still in the early stages of PPG, despite 20 years of free paragliding, the take off is challenging. No one told me to lean back like that, and it sure makes sense. I'm going to try it. Just one thing , what you refer to as the taxi phase, would probably be better described as the ground-run (or ground-roll in aircraft). Taxiing is generally what takes place to get the aircraft lined up with the runway, before initiating power for the take off, or after the landing roll is complete. Great video!

Good video. Other stuff I've wrestled with is a wet wing from dew on the grass, sand or gravel in the wing, and launching in variable/nonlaminar wind conditions. In these cases, I "enjoyed" para-blending my lines from the wing first getting in the correct overhead position, then me adding power, then the wing falling out of position, and the lines wrapping in the prop. Most launches on RU-vid look perfect with very few aborts. When I flew PPG, I never had problems with flying or landing which I found to be super easy, but it was the difficulty of the launch that ultimately pushed me toward flying weight-shift trikes instead, where the launch is super easy and the landing is the challenging part. I still miss PPG though!
