Put together some clips from the recent winter season on how I set up and launch my paraglider and speed wing on my skis and snowboard. I understand there are many different techniques to doing this and there is no right answer although this is what works for me. I may change my technique depending on the wind speed, slope angle, depth of snow or if I have a friend to help me on launch.
The biggest disadvantage about launching on skis or snowboard compared to foot launching is your ability to use your feet to control the inflation. You are almost 90% relying on your ground handling skills to steady the wing over head before taking off.
No matter what, I always end up with some snow inside my wing after flying on a winters day so remember to open your wing up at home to let it dry out. Not too close to a heater otherwise it will shrink your lines!!!
