Great info with lots of details, thanks for doing this for us! When you're in the right lane, I can see you hit the laser very close to redline in 3rd gear which is 90+ mph since 3rd tops out at 96 mph. I think that's pretty damn fast! 👍
when i press the sport button and put it in the manual it doesnt show the F in the gauge thing. i have a JDM import, do i need to do anything else? when i press the gas it takes a second before it takes off. is that normal?
Ok, this was so spot on, that i can pretty much launch a car at the christmas tree, something i,ve never done before, it,s on my bucket list. Great job man, doubt if i,m going to find a better tutorial than this one
Definitely make sure to turn off the AC at the track to avoid any water drip. Also make sure to let the engine cool for a bit after you notice the times getting worse. Most of the time the tracks are so busy this isn't an issue, but in the event you have the option to keep doing back to back runs... hold off for a bit.
Ladies & Gentlemen, the world record holder for a full bolt on ISF! 😁 . Good tips! This track I just hot lap it as I’m not trying to set any records, just want to have fun and beat cars! 😎
amazing quality content. I've been waiting for this a while now, I appreciate your honesty and the fact that you always want to help others be better in terms of driving! I believe you covered the reason why you won't put headers yet on another video if I remember correctly, you stated that it is because you want to become a better driver. All that's left for me as a request is that you make a video about about you getting your car for the first time (how the process went), your fails, and first time at a drag strip, and all your accomplishments! Thank you man
Thank you! I hope this video covered everything. That is part of the reasons I don’t get headers, among others that I may cover in a full dedicated video in the future. I do have the buying process as an idea for the future as well. I’ll try and include some of those other ideas in future content. Thanks for tuning in!
A 10hp loss with a/c makes sense - that's 7.5kW pulled off the engine which sounds plausible considering the efficiency of the system and the effects of solar heating. On the other hand many/most modern (European) cars developed or released in the past 15 years have momentarily disengaged the compressor during full throttle driving so as not to affect acceleration.
Unless your car has line lock, which the ISF does not then yes, you’re getting your pads and rotors hot. As long as you’re not on it too long you should be ok. There are plenty of videos on RU-vid of people just holding a burnout until their rear brake assemblies catch on fire.
What's your input on getting a ECU tune like rr racing for example with your setup, will I see gains with just a intake and catback exhaust? Or am I just wasting my money..thanks.
I don't have any personal experience with the RR-Racing tune or any others. From what I've read there are gains to be had in all levels of modification, even in stock form. But, if you're after more power I would put the money towards headers first.
@@ISFASTER thanks for that also I have the 2012 and when I redline it doesn't beep is there something to turn this on and off sorry I just bought it a month ago
@@ISFASTER Thats cool, man. Nice to hear your having fun. Veloster modded? You plan on getting another V8? I'm looking for a 10-12 LS460 Sport having totalled my 07. Looking at just swapping final drive,MAYBE muffler delete.
Whether or not you make more or less power with A/C on/off. If you’re on a drag strip or track course. Turn it off! These fluids build up on the pavement & you can potentially ruin another drivers race.
On a road course maybe, but any water coming out due to ac condensation is going to be coming from the bottom of the car and at the strip when staging there’s not going to be an amount coming out that’s going to make a difference in anyone’s launch because if it where you’d only get one run because the track official going to make sure of it. Also since it’s coming from underneath basically the middle of the car, those few droplets( if it’s even that many) surely aren’t going to affect anyone’s run because if they’re that far out of the groove to be in little drops of water that came from the middle of your car that’s in the groove, then they’ve got bigger problems anyway.
Could you do me a favor and do a video showing a kickdown at about 60km/h (or about 37mph) while in "D" not manual mode please? I read a lot of guys telling, that the downshift is really slow, but i can't believe this in my honestly opinion. Would be great! I can't find a video from an ISF or RCF on youtube doing this. 🙏🏻 By the way: Nice video!
I think at 37 I’m in 7th gear, 8th happens just over 40. That’s driving like a nun. If you are in normal mode my car shifts down twice to reach 2nd from 7th. If the cars in Racing mode, and you have been driving spiritedly your car will be in a lower gear at 37 and will downshift straight to 2nd.
@@logic_xxmobxx9636 no it doesn't you can research it, I thought the same and I was drifting my is350 and it kicked back in randomly and almost killed me luckily I missed smashing into the guard rail by accouple inches. Pressing the button temporary disabled it to like 30mph and holding disables it mostly but if it thinks you in some real trouble there's a chance it can turn on temporarily
@@logic_xxmobxx9636 why would they make the peddle dance a thing if you could just hold the button regardless do you if it kicks on when your pushing your car to the edge that's your problem
Juan Carlos well certainly I won’t risking my life for a quick adrenaline rush. But I’ve done both the peddle dance and holding the traction control and both have the same outcome. I’ve only gotten the kickback when I press it and I don’t hold it.
@@logic_xxmobxx9636 I usually do the peddle dance then hold the button it to get stability control off. You really need everything fully off because these cars are so muted with them on, in this specific situation it makes sense that he turns it back on but usually in the street we just roll from 20 or 40 so having traction control on isn't really worth it
This is the stock setup. There are a few ISFs with this. Fun Fact - this unit is 6 pounds lighter than the navigation unit. Also, 2011-2013 ISF have Alcantara seats.
I have an 06 IS350 that launches awesome and apparently the ISF guys have been saying the 408 swap out of an IS is the easiest way to get those hard launches I’ve seen videos of 350s going toe to toe with ISFs from a dig although the ISF wins absolute top end monster past 40-50 Still wanna of my dream cars ❤️
@@ISFASTER 😥😥😥 what did she sell for if you don't mind me asking? Im looking at a 2011 SFP on black with 77k miles right now. Services up to date. It's Ppe/borla/tuned. What's next for you?
@@ISFASTER I understand man just thought I'd enlighten you on the peddle dance, long time follower is350 rwd and gs350 rwd and big fan of your content keep it up. Hopefully I get a F soon
Why do people think the ISF is some kind of crazy sports car? It’s a glorified luxury sedan with a tame overhead valve V8(pathetic torque curve). Line this up against any modern American sports car with a V8 and get ready to be a spec in the guys rear view. I’m not knocking Toyota/Lexus. That’s all I drive. I also have a Corvette and if you want speed/braking/handling, the vette out classes it by a mile.
Check out some videos against those ‘modern American sports cars’ on my channel and you’ll see who is the speck is the others rear view. Not bad for a nearly 12 year old vehicle huh? 😎😁 Also, you’re comparing a ‘glorified luxury sedan’ with a 2 door sports car, not exactly vehicles that are in the same category.
Cause with headers and a tune these cars are indeed beasts. Viper vs ISF. ISF has full bolt ons and tune. The viper wins of course but given how the ISF is a 4 door sedan that is 10-11 years old now, that is pretty impressive. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x-puswL9lAI.html ISF vs Vette. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CMysXi94b9U.html For all things considered this is incredibly impressive. Now add the fact that the car is reliable, and with a mechanically sympathetic owner can have well into the 6 digits for mileage and still make great power, the car becomes quite the steal. Full bolt ons getting you 500 crank hp or street SS kit from RR racing getting you 620 crank hp. Value wise this becomes tempting. You call it tame while it eats up equivalent competition. If you believe the vette has usable performance on the daily then great! Get the vette. I debated between the CTSV and ISF. The ISF by far is the cheaper more efficient vehicle to own since barely anything goes wrong with them and to top that off I don't pay the 2 door insurance hit, and it is still usable in the winter. I have run that thing with 4 inches of snow on the ground with no issues. At the end of the day a decent driver in the ISF will pretty much outclass most machines out there unless you have perfect pavement and conditions. So far at my local track, no vette, M3, M4, whatever out there comes close, cause around a track, you really have to know your car and have the balls to push it. Folks buying the greatest cars, aren't the greatest drivers. Drivers who understand what cars work best for their use and abilities even in what could be considered inferior will do better. There's a reason why Miata's and S2k's with minimal mods are beasts at the track.
