Interesting. I've never heard of this method before. I have only had one ball drilled pin down and I absolutely hated it. Clipped my thumb hole no matter what I tried. Based on my pap it was definitely below the safe zone. Could this be the reason why? My pso kept saying I must be releasing it wrong even though I have never had that problem before or since.

Hi Bryan, again this is the technique to be used when you don't know your PAP. It "minimizes" the chances to roll over the thumb, but you may still roll over the thumb if you're having trouble with the release. Best advise there is to make sure to roll the fingers around the ball. One of the best "at-home" exercises is to throw a spiral with a football by throwing it underhand. Play pitch and catch with someone to work on that release.
