CORRECTION: I've decided to stop using Polylogger to track my time since it was getting in my way, and there will be no more development on the program. Toggl is much, much better and more useful. You can find a tutorial to get you started here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dm6RYK9J61k.html
I totally agree about mixing things up. There’s a lot of advice out there like “Stick with one resource!” but I find by having many tools in my toolbox a language learning routine is not only more fun, but more sustainable. Boredom and a lack of choice are the greatest enemies of motivation and consistency.
Best language learning RU-vid channel! Would love to get more variations on routines. Like how do some people do 3 hours in one go, or 30 hours in a week, or people who do just 5 min here and there, etc. I remember once meeting a wfh father who had two incredibly active and violent children. And he would just place his Kindle by the kettle to read it there in 3 min increments. It was Mind-blowing and real he made me reassess my time.
If you believe you’re a busy person and you’re managing to juggle two additional languages then I’m not sure you’re busy 😂 Would you mind linking the tools video you mentioned you’ll do? I couldn’t see it when looking through the video list
I find time for passive learning is very easy to find time for, but intensive learning is very time consuming and difficult to fit in… sitting still and watching for new words.
A video about how you make your own language learning resources for learning czech will be amazing especialy for people as me which are intersted in such little know languages as trigrinya turkmen or north korea korean (sorry for the grammar and spelling im native spanish speaker btw)
Definitely want to understand your tech setup for creating cards. I'm learning Estonian currently, and there's no decks for it. So will be super helpful to see how you make your decks. I will get to Czech sooner or later. So can I just steal yours when it is ready? :P
