Brilliant! Just now found your channel and watched this through to the end...and subscribed...I'm and amateur musician (guitar...basss..edrums) and that's all I need to be happy... love what you are doing here bro! And I agree with the James Brown 4 minute locked grove 😂 I need more than that to be happy 😊... also the simple truth when you say... Learn The Chords and Play the dang Chords!!! 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽

I believe we're from the same generation & my favorite decade of music is the 70's across the board all genres.

Hi Morrisman. Are there many simple r&b/soul beginner songs one can learn? I don’t mind having to learn the classic rock stuff to get where I want to be but I don’t seem to see many beginner versions of Isley brother stuff or for a lot of the 70s/80s/90s/00s r&b if you know what I’m trying to ask. It may be that that stuff is not beginner for beginners.

Hello Morris just found your channel. I want to learn bass. Do I start with scales and after mastering that what do I practice every day to hone my skill?

I remember that video of kanye sitting at the keyboard and just hitting a sample with 1 finger and the crowd was screaming as if he were really playing the instrument. 😮

I'm with you on James Brown: Great grooves, but he was more of a groove man. I too don't like doing them. I didn't realize why, until you laid it out. I started writing in my early teens, so I learned structure is a must. Also, you hit he nail on the head when it comes to rap and some hip hop. They don't use drum fills and the guitar is extinct and unnecessary in their mind. Black guitar players were influencers back in the day. Hendrix, B.B. King, Ray Parker Jr. etc. Black bass players: Graham, White, Johnson, Henderson, Collins, etc. But nowadays muscianship is a laughing stock. Like you said on Kanye! Totally onpoint. Pretending to be musicians. Sadly audiences have accepted this. Rap and Hip Hop are the only times in "black music" history that there has not been a new innovation by the decades, because 1 finger computer musicians don't have to innovate change, and why innovate if 1 finger and computer is the easy way.
