Sometimes you just have to leave a toxic relationship. You can’t change someone, only they can change. Respect yourself before others will respect you.

Darn. On the outside, everyone looks like they have a perfect life, but inside, only they know that they're hurting.

with me, it was leaving an abusive relationship at home when I was 15. it was the hardest thing and the best thing I ever did. Now, 42 years later, my abuser and my parent are still both dysfunctional but I am free. Thank God! At 25, I became a Christian, and have been able to forgive both of them (my brother for abusing me and my mother for allowing him to do so). It is okay to love someone who is out of balance but you must love them from a distance. Peace cannot coexist with toxicity.

This is not love. No one should ever feel pressured into a relationship

I married at age 36. As you can imagine, I had been with many women. I thought I made the right choice. There was never any violence. There was a lot of arguments, but we never hit each other. I was so glad when it ended, yet sad that I had wasted 12 years of my life. I could have been with someone who would value me. Instead, I made the wrong choice. You have to value yourself. If you don't, no one else will.:)

Don't chase the fairy tale, focus on making reality the way you wish to lead your life. Powerful story, shame people have to go through such pain, but her strength is inspiring.

Life is suffering and in that, we grow and learn to become more serine and joyful. If you are in a bad relationship and you know it, take *ACTION.*

You are so strong! I can’t image going through that with children. I was in a toxic relationship too but it was just emotional abuse. But that’s how it always starts. If I didn’t get it when I did I know it would have turned physical. You are so inspiring. Thank you for sharing your story. 💕

Your story is truly inspiring. No one should go through life wondering if they are loved. You didn’t deserve what you went through and I was moved by your story. Indeed, we must take one day at a time and we should be the love we truly deserve. Like I said to a friend today, our close friends and relatives can be our safety net because they can see what we miss and we should never hide and love people in seclusion.

When I first left him I had to take each day minute by minute, everything was just too overwhelming. 6 months later I can live week by week, sometimes month by month but I still can't think any further ahead. My savings have gone up, my happiness has gone up, the fears and sleepless nights and nightmares are still there but less and less.

There was a time .I started to counting on the last day of my life. But I decided that I do not want to die before death. I started reading books . within one in half months i finished five books.

Set boundaries and ask for help. You will survive Be the love you deserve Treat yourself well like you would a small child

I am a survivor of SEVERE Domestic Violence from my husband. I survived narcissistic abuse and terribly violent physical assaults. I got out, by the Grace of God.. So CAN YOU! Please, please, PLEASE do NOT stay. PLEASE find a way to leave/get AWAY from the monster that's abusing you.

I'm lucky to have a wonderful women who isn't abusive. I saw very bad relationships growing up and I told myself I never wanted to be apart of that

Thank you all so much for inspiring my current life’s journey, Oscar Academy Award Winning dream come true journey, storytelling writing career, and my post Israeli American immigrant citizenship journey, based in my current hometown of Jerusalem Israel; I could have never become the global citizen of love, kindness, compassion, and gratitude without you all inspiring me to never give up. In February 2019, as a present Kol Haneshama Jerusalem synagogue member and Israeli citizen of almost three years, I had the esteemed blessing of attending a Jerusalem Cinematheque film screening of Above and Beyond; I loved watching the film so much, and it inspired me beyond words; Film will always be a part of my heart and soul. On May 15th 1994, I was born on the Upper West Side of Manhattan New York City, and had been bullied my entire life for my High Functioning Autism Syndrome. Even though I had endured adversity, while going through occupational speech therapy classes, due to my inability to verbally speak in White Plains New York before the age of three, I never let adversity and my battles with anxiety define who I am. I have lived my entire life with an Eye of the Tiger positive attitude and with endless love, compassion, and kindness and gratefulness for my loving South Miami Florida and Jewish Jerusalem Israeli based family. During the fourteen years that I had spent living in White Plains Westchester New York, I had, at the age of ten years old earned a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts by breaking a board on fire, and overcoming Bear Mountain State Park’s black ice covered hiking trail in Upstate New York. I have been Jewish my whole life, since my mother’s parents originally from Mosul Iraq and Jerusalem Israel were also Jewish by birth. Even though I had received a second degree burn, as I broke through my karate fire board, and even though I had fallen countless times on black ice, I never let the fear of failure define who I am. Following Elementary and Middle School, and my graduation from Elementary and Middle School, I would graduate from the North Miami Beach Florida RASG Hebrew Academy High School, and never let my Autism disability inhibit me from inspiring my current life heroes. In May 2016, I ended up going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and the Liberal Arts from Baltimore Maryland’s Goucher College; In late May 2016, I took my Israeli immigration flight from New York City’s JFK Airport to Ben Gurion’s Tel Aviv International Airport; As my overseas flight went above the Atlantic, I watched from beginning to end the stellar film Brooklyn starring the phenomenal Ms. Saoirse Ronan; Home is where the heart is; In one of the final scenes of Saoirse Ronan’s Brooklyn film, she reached New York City and Ellis Island, an place so close to my birthplace home of Manhattan and the Upper West Side New York. This is going to sound negative but it's not. It's not easy to leave a relationship. She didn't leave her relationship until there was no other way. Even he was beating her regular she didn't leave him. Now she want others to leave their partner if they abuse her. It's good that she does it but stil it wil be difficult to convince others to do what she didn't do her self because it's difficult. If it wasn't everyone would do it. Love is complicated.
