MartinLogan
ElectroMotion ESL X
The ElectroMotion ESL X (EM-ESL X) X features a larger electrostatic transducer and dual woofers, with increased power-handling capabilities. As the flagship model of the ElectroMotion Series, the X establishes a new benchmark for price versus performance.
The ElectroMotion ESL X features a new larger XStat™ electrostatic transducer, with a radiating area over 50in2 larger than the EM-ESL model. Twin 8-inch high-excursion woofers are housed in a non-resonant asymmetrical bass reflex (ported) chamber, in a surprisingly compact enclosure. Woofers have custom engineered high-rigidity paper cones, with extended-throw driver assemblies. Component elements within the EM-ESL X replicate the design and performance of components used on many of MartinLogan’s more expensive loudspeakers, such as custom-wound transformers, air-core coils, large steel laminate inductors, polyester and low DF electrolytic capacitors. Custom 5-way bi-wire binding posts allow for secure wire connections. System Frequency Response is 41-22,000 Hz ±3db. Recommended amplifier power is 20-400 watts per channel. Impedance is rated at 6 ohms (1.6 ohms at 20 kHz); the EM-ESL X is compatible with 4, 6, or 8 ohm rated amplifiers.
A unique XStat™ transducer was developed for the ElectroMotion Series to reduce the gauge thickness of the electrostatic panel's steel stators. The reduced gauge does not alter the performance characteristics of the panel. However, as a natural byproduct of tighter build tolerances, it does increase the visual transparency of the panel. The EM-ESL X's XStat panel is so visually transparent it nearly vanishes when you're sitting and listening.
ElectroMotion ESL C
The powerful EM-ESL C is a high-performance electrostatic center channel loudspeaker. With the exceptional mid-range dynamics of an electrostatic panel, the remarkable details delivered by a Folded Motion Tweeter, and the addition of a newly-designed CenterForce dual woofer system, the most surprising thing about the EM-ESL C isn’t its superior performance. It’s that the EM-ESL C is compact enough to fit easily into today’s most popular A/V furniture. With the EM-ESL C electrostatic center channel loudspeaker, you can match the acoustic signature of your ElectroMotion Series speakers and build a truly astounding home theater system.
ElectroMotion IC
The ElectroMotion® Architectural Series features our award-winning compact Folded Motion® thin film transducer technology, bringing a new standard in acoustical performance to in-wall and in-ceiling applications. Designed for those seeking the world's most articulate and dynamic multi-channel home theater systems, or simply a stealthy 2-channel system, the Architectural Series speakers are voice and timbre matched with one another, as well as the rest of the MartinLogan line of ultra-premium electrostatic and Folded Motion speakers.
MartinLogan ElectroMotion® IW
You may not notice it when you first walk in the room, but as soon as the ElectroMotion IW starts playing you'll never forget its sound. This stealthy MartinLogan in-wall speaker delivers a memorable listening experience practically anywhere in your home, yet its ultra-low profile vanishes neatly into your room's decor without taking up a bit of valuable floor space. Install a pair of these speakers in a kitchen or bedroom for fantastic stereo sound, or use multiple pairs to create a concealed home theater system.

Amazed at how many "dealers" never demonstrate or mention the blanking feature so you can crop out the overlapping image off the wall if you decide to zoom a 16x9 into your scope screen.

Good video. If you could stop chewing and popping gum it would have been better. I’m still confused on how to fill a 16:9 screen with a 2:35 image.

Why did they go with such a small screen on that wide of a wall? Was it a throw limitation? Just seems way too small with that much available blank space.

I understand that’s the cheapest option to get that format but we are still loosing pixels in the picture unless we use an anamorphic lens. Any budget ones you can recommend?

You can also buy a 16x9 motorized screen that goes up and down. When its in 16x9 its all the way down and for 2:35:1 you raise it up to fit that format. You need a projector will a motorized lens so you save the 2:35:1 in the memory and go to that format with the touch of a button. Itll move the 2:35:1 image with the 2 black bars above and below it all the way to the top of the screen where theres no longer a black bar at the top. Then you raise the screen until theres no longer a black bar at the bottom. You will need a motorized lens for lens shift. Otherwise you would have to manually adjust the lens each time which would be a pain to do each time. When you switch to 2:35:1 depending on the type of screen you have you may see a reflection off of the beam at the top of screen. I had that issue so I bought some black velcro tape to cover the part of the beam that the image was reflecting off of. That took care of the reflection and it looked just like the projector was projecting onto a 2:35:1 screen. I a motorized screen when I had my 150 inch screen. I moved recently and the biggest I could fit was a 120 inch. I got a non motorized screen that is flat against the wall. I either watch it with the black bars or zoom. Going to a 2:35:1 image on a 16x9 screen will result in a smaller image. On a 150inch 16x9 screen it was still a pretty large image. But on a 120 inch 16x9 screen it would of a decrease in size. So it was nice having that option on my previously screen but for me it would of been too much of a decrease on a 120 inch screen. So you just have to weigh your options and what is more important to you. My projector is in the living room and I love it for football season so I will always own a 16x9 screen.

Can you explain what happens when you watch a movie like Aquaman that have different aspect ratio watching on 2:35 screen. Does it spill over ? Also thank you so much for this.

I have the same feature on my projector that has lens memory. for Aquaman or any other movie that has variable aspect ratio's that changes, I have to stick with 16:9 because of it.

Damon Benjamin Mission Impossible also has mixed aspect rations and I was wondering the same thing. I’m seriously considering black curtains on a 2.35:1 to deal w 16.9 content

For the RS2000, there is a "Mask" function (page 59 of the manual). What I would do is set a mask on the top and bottom so that when the movie changes to imax, it is masked off. Sure, you miss out on what might be on the top and bottom of the image, but generally the important stuff on the screen will be within that 2.35:1 window. Hopefully the RS2000 allows the mask to be set to a preset so that it doesn't have to be set up each time.

Nice video! Is there any chance over using the vertical lens shift (with len memory) frequently could cause the pjs electronic shift to fall? Cheers
@JH-dh9hx
@JH-dh9hx 3 года назад
Hold up, so to "save" a lens memory, you just go to a preset, adjust to the size you want and then after that, every time you choose that preset, it will go back to that lens position? If so, that's interesting that you don't actually have to hit "save" and put the save file onto a preset.

As I watch this and you talk about copyright content on RU-vid, would they snag you for Copyright if you play the 4K demo videos, on RU-vid. When I wanna check my 4K OLED, I use those. GoPro has some good ones, but there are a number of just straight 4K, generic videos that are great for demos. Like they use at Best Buy and such. I recommend “Fly over Norway.” By Nature Relaxation Films.

Pjrojectors. Great when watching films that are shot in one aspect ratio. When they go back and forth (e.g. The Dark Knight Trilogy) then overspill is unavoidable. Can't win. :) Got a 2.35:1 screen? When it goes back to 16:9 there will be spill top and bottom. Got a 16:9....black bars on top and bottom of picture. Or have overspill on left/right sides. :) In an ideal world....have 2 dedicated HT rooms. :) Only difference is one has a 88" flatscreen.

So there are no lines in the setup for 2.40:1? just 16:9 and 2.35:1? So how do you get the projector adjusted on the screen for 2.40:1?
@robertromero8692

I wouldn't worry about it. 2.4 is so close to 2.35 that the bars would be tiny.

I have 2 questions. Is the 2020 sony projectors better than the N5 JVC ? or what would you recommend. I love that the sony has nice motion tecnology but i guess the jvc has better contrast. or am i wrong. 2. What happen when you watch a movie witch is both 16:9 and cinemascope. I guess the black bars at the side will be there until the next scene right ?

I've always been a huge fan of Cinemascope. Is there any 4k or even 8k laser projectors with lens memory? I had an Epson projector and it was always a bitch to change the bulbs and filters plus the cost would seriously add up as well.
