very nice silhouette. don't you miss a rally-style seat to move around more freely ? also.. where is that skid plate from ? i really like its low height. thanks
Thanks! Yes, my next mod will definitely be a custom seat with where the dip is filled. It’s actually annoying me a lot while riding. The skidplate is made here in Holland by a guy on the Dutch Transalp forum. But it’s his last batch and they’re all sold out. I can find one with a toolbox welded to it though..
@@Jaggi96 oh, that mysterious Dutch guy that Pedro Mota was also mentioning while rebuilding his TA. It's the nicest one, i like the minimal look but wouldn't utilize the toolbox, being a weekend rider so far. Thanks and good luck with the seat. I've hat my fun with the foam, went quite well.
Hey mate i enjoy your vids a lot. Are tou considering making a video with all the details of your build ? Maybe with the links of the parts and everything? The result is sick ! Especially this front plastic part youve changed, the stock one worh the blinkers integrated is pretty ugly ! Cheers
Beautiful setup! Thanks for sharing this. I have been planning to lift my alp for a long time now but never got to it. Right now I am building the whole front end of the bike - navigation tower, fairings, double headlights etc. Once I am done with this I will go for a bike lift for sure. I didn't know about those fork extenders. That's very useful info. I was about to check for crf forks and all that. Cool. Nice setup, man. Btw, I read about removing the "catalyc converter" a while ago. I believe some adjustments on the carbs are needed in order to prevent the engine from running too lean or rich. Also, there was a vacuum pipe under the fuel tank that must be plugged up. Cheers.
Thanks @Jaggi Very nicely done, both the setup and the very clear video. I am curious about how this changed the handling & riding for you... oh and I'd like to know more about your head fearing setup too?
can u buy this bike in 2024 with 1500 - 2000 euros ? can u put a fuel counter on it (on kle 500 or trasalp 400 ) ? replace the bakes with a lot better? the honda 650cc can be reduced its weight? is it worth buying it or through time the bike is going to be useless? coz u can get a 650cc 2005 with tthe same price as the 400cc transalp ..or the 400 is bettter?
@Jaggi96 Hi Jaggi, you are my inspiration what to do with my 2005 transalp 650. If you look back... Would you do anything differently? How the longer chain behaves? Can you please share its length too? Your help is much appreciated.
Can’t really think of anything I would’ve done differently! Most of the stuff i would’ve done different i’ve already fixed. 😅 I will make a detailled video soon about the whole build. The chain is the same length as the original, since the gearing and swingarm are the same.
Bro do you sell a course or something. Im almost done getting my license and want to get a Transalp 650 and really like this rally look. Also my friends and I plan on going on TET tours next summer so this would be perfect ❤. Great bike. Thank you for the inspiration
Nice setup! Really like the Boano fairing! How did the fairings fit? A friend of mine has also a raised transalp 650, with lowered footpegs. The mounting of the footpegs (the tabs on the aluminium sideplates) broke off during the last trip we made. Maybe you should consider the higher seat first and then lower the footpegs. My friend also told me about hitting his boots and pegs to the ground and rocks when he was riding in the ruts. I also raised mine by about 5cm, but since I'm 175cm I'll not raise it further 🤣 I run with Wilbers progressive springs in front+fork extenders and a YSS shock in the rear, did not (yet)turned the linkage arm.
The fairing is made by African Queens and not Boano! I’ve worked with fairing from both and i must say that the AQ fit and finish of the whole kit is alot better than Boano’s. That goes for not only the fairing but also for the tower and especially the lights.
The forks aren’t held by the threads, they are held by clamping the forkleg in the triple clamp. The stress on the actual threads is minimal. I’ve been running them HARD for the last 5 years with absolutely zero problems. I know multiple people who have done so on Transalps and Africa Twins.
@@Jaggi96 yes I understand that but isnt lower triple clamp holding the forkleg but upper the “screw” (extenders). Glad you havent had any problems. Now I might try them out 😂.
Awesome looking bike bud! I have a 2002, what have you done to the front as well? Looks different and much better! I am going away on the TET for 4 days in Wales in 2 weeks,
Cheers mate! The front end is a rally fairing from African Queens in Germany. I will soon make a video going over the whole build, explaining every single mod i’ve done. Good luck on the Welsh TET, looks amazing!
I'm 192cm tall too, and looking for transalp because I can't affort Africa Twin... it seems all those modes make less sense then just getting africa (Maybe I should save up a bit more and get older AT to make it fit my budget) :D
If you’re just gonna be rational about everything then don’t ride a motorcycle 😄 But in all seriousness, the Transalp is a better motorcycle than the Africa Twin in terms of quality. Also about 20kg’s lighter.

brilliant video mate was in 2 mind whether to get a transalp because of the ground clearance but this video just made my mind up for me cheers and your bike looks even better with some color to it now thanks again 👍👍
IMO, yes, worth it. The suspension is still basic with a lack of adjustment. But it does get more capable. Also more predictable. But it’s still 20 year old technology so don’t expect the performance of a USD WP or similar. The ride doesn’t loose comfort if you ask me. It’s a bit stiffer but the predictability sure makes it easier to ride.
@@no0neX A lot of people experience it becoming less wobbly because their suspension was never serviced a lot over the years. If your bike is wobbly doing the hyperpro springs and oil will make your bike ALOT more stable.
Hello, i am trying to do the very same on my xl600v, but I'm having trouble finding the fork spacers you have there. Any clue where I could find those?
