Yeah, they come in very handy! I bought mine on Amazon for about $20 per set of two, so $40 altogether.

You got lucky that's for sure. But a jack should never be used to hold a car, only lift it. Always use jack stands to support a vehicle. Every year hundreds of people die from a jack failing ta hold a vehicle.

When lifting vehicles, always use chock's.

I specifically say NOT to lift from the cover EDIT: Correction. Do not lift from the **rear diff** cover. It's hard to lay on the ground while holding a camera one handed, but I'm trying to point to the entire bottom of the differential. Just put the jack in a safe spot, and if necessary, use a hockey puck or a 2x4 or something to make sure you have good contact with the differential before trying to lift it. Putting about 2 tons of weight onto a diff cover sounds like a bad idea.

@@joelgoacher1643 1:55 - Maybe there is a misunderstanding. I'm pointing at the entire bottom of the differential, not just the cover. I say that "it's fine" to lift the differential even if your cover has additional fins on it for cooling (they may bend if you are not careful).

@@joelgoacher1643 I edited it because when I went back and watched the video I realized I was wrong and made a mistake. It's been two years since I made that original reply; and I guess I must have mixed up "rear diff lift point" with the front lift point - since that was the main focus of my video, and there I did specifically say not to lift anywhere on the plastic engine covers. Thanks for being the driving force on getting this updated so it can benefit everyone in the future!

This is on a 2004. It's hard to see the jack point on the front because of the splash cover. Best advice is to put a little mirror (or a cell phone with a camera) on a stick to look under the car, it's very hard to spot, especially if you have yours lowered. Good luck!

You'll want a low-profile jack if you can get one. Otherwise you'll have to force it and that'll scratch things up.

I haven't messed with the 370Z, but most of it is nearly identical to the 350Z. I'd check the owner's manual to see if it lists any mount points it recommends though, since a lot of things were replaced my aluminum on the 370Z to lighten it.
