This video is a part of the J K Lovelace Photography Print Shop Series. In this video I demonstrate how to load a 24” roll of Moab Slickrock Metallic Pearl 260 gsm paper into a Canon ImagePrograf 4100 printer. www.jklovelace...
Hi there KWalkowski, sorry for the late reply, this question got lost in my notifications. Yes if the canvas papers are different in any way except size, you'll need handy each ICC profile. This is because there are many different types of canvas paper; they can be made with different densities, fibers, lusters, and tints.
Hi Timothy. If you mean Can the 4100 cut a design or pattern, no, it only does single line cutting. If you mean is it strong enough to cut through thick sticker paper then yes, it may be possible. You would need to see if your sticker media has an ICC profile. If it does not, call up the Canon Support Line at 1-800-423-2366. They are very helpful and if you can describe the media you are working with, they will guide you.
Hi there andres martinez, sorry for the late reply, this question got lost in my list of notifications. Unfortunately I do not know how wide the doorway was; I'm no longer working out of that particular office. The manual says "62.8 x 28.9 x 24.8 in." for just the printer and "62.8 x 30.2 x 46 in." with the stand. It seems like you can fit it thru a 31" doorway, though you may have to tilt it slightly. Keep in mind the Permitted Maximum Angle of Inclination in all directions is 90 degrees and before attempting this you have to execute "Prepare to transportation". The ideal inclination range is 0 to 30 degrees as it uses up less maintenance cartridges.
If the new roll's edge is crooked, you should initiate "Trim edge first" in the touch screen menu before loading the paper roll: Home > Paper Settings > Advanced > Trim edge first. This setting will take effect the next time a roll is loaded.
Hi there. I have not tried double-sided printing. For cut sheets, I think it would technically work, but usually paper is only coated on one side, so I would expect smearing or blurriness.
@@Neil-Aspinall actually I moved across the country. I made this series for the guy who took over that part of my job; I still work for the same place and they still use this same printer. We were going to sell that one and get a lease for a new one at my new location since it was too expensive and risky to ship the old one but that lease agreement fell through.
Hi Winn. There are only two paper settings. One for a roll and one for a flat cut sheet of paper. And if you are also asking about the part at 6:35, here's what I did: I had Moab brand paper, so I went to their website and navigated to Slickrock Metallic Pearl. There is a list of ICC profiles under the product description www.moabpaper.com/icc-profiles-downloads/ and I selected the make and model of my printer, Canon imagePROGRAF PRO 4100. You will then see two columns, one titled "Moab Paper" and the other titled "Media Type Setting When Printing". Slickrock Metallic Pearl 260 is associated with Photo Paper Pro Platinum. Hope this info helps!
Thank you, my sister. I am from Saudi Arabia. I want your help. I want to know everything about the printer and what is the suitable paper for printing a mural. Sorry, my sister. I have a lot of questions.
@@ysro5519 Hi there. Hmm, for a mural, I would assume it would look better on textured matte paper to recreate the effect of paint on a wall. But I could be wrong. I would start with a general sample pack of paper from BHPhotoVideo. The one I have in mind is called "Moab 8.5 x 11" General Sampler (20 Sheets)" and it is $25. Let's say you try each paper in the sample pack and you definitely like the textured papers more than the smooth papers. And let's say the one paper sample that stood out to you was "Entrada Rag Bright 190 / 300". At that point, you can purchase a regular size paper sheet or roll with this same name. Or, if you have the budget and time, and none of the papers stood out to you but you are certain you want a textured paper: then you could also look at something more specific like this product called "Hahnemuhle Matte Textured FineArt Inkjet Paper Sample Pack (8.5 x 11", 10 Sheets)" for $16.
I thank you very much, my sister, I am sorry I disturbed you, but how can I communicate with you more, is it via RU-vid or something else? I am sorry again. I have some questions, but I cannot at this time. My little son is sick. I'm tired of translating your message because I don't speak English. Thanks again sister
