We tear down a grease gun to show exactly how it works and why our tricks for bleeding air and priming really work. Be sure to check out part one for a basic overview: • How to Load and Prime ... Product info: locknlube.com/...
Great video answered all my questions I have been a maintenance man for 35 years and always have had problems priming grease guns. I had 2 that stopped working and I had them on the scrap pile. After watching this video I was able to get both of them primed and working. Thank You.
Thanks. Great video. Very helpful. I am a carpenter who typically drives our company tipper. My biggest issue with grease guns is that, until recently I typically used a spring-pressure grease gun only about 6-8 times a year. We now have a small hydraulic excavator for work and I needed to upskill. My spring-pressure grease gun came with a full parts diagram and list but I do not recall any instructions. Assuming that the purchaser already knows everything is worse than giving basic safety information in excruciating detail and omitting maintenance info.
the Red grease gun I have has always been a bugger to prime but you opened my eyes to the twisting of the rod. the next time that grease gun is empty I'm going to examine the plunger to see if the twist lock is working. thanks a huge bunch.
Great demo! I ve been fighting my air powered grease gun trying to get it primed. I wasn't successful so I believe I need to clean the head assembly. Thanks for the info. 👍
Thank you George for letting us know. Glad to hear that your were able to get your grease gun up and running again. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
If you are done with greasing project are you supposed to remove the cartridge with remaining grease and store it separately from the gun (I believe saw one film where it adwised to do so)? Thank you for the very informative film.
Thanks for your question. You do not need to remove the grease from the barrel. It can stay in there until all the grease has been used. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you.
I have a LockNLube and works great in most cases. I have a small grease fitting and it won’t hold onto it. I’m wondering if I can change the fitting to a longer one so it would hold on better.
Our Eight quick-connect adapters allow access to hard-to-reach grease fittings. Simply attach one of the adapters to either our coupler our a standard coupler.
Should you store a grease gun with the plunger pulled back and locked to take the pressure off the grease so it doesn't slop past the piston back into the tube?
Thank you for your question. You do not need to store your grease gun in the locked position. We also have a Heavy-Duty Grease Gun Gun Holder available as well. I've attached the link for you. locknlube.com/products/heavy-duty-grease-gun-holder?variant=1108313407512
Coming from a calking background a grease gun is very confusing to me. With a calking gun the plunger rod always sits behind the calking. This allows you to immediately see how much calking is in the gun. If you were to somehow push the rod into the calking it would get calking all over the rod making a mess of the rod, and also leave a hole where all of the calking could escape. Why doesn't this happen with a grease gun? Why doesn't the grease which is under pressure from the spring, go out thru the same hole that the shaft goes thru? How do you tell how much grease is in the grease gun? Confused.
Hi Dan, Thanks for reaching out to us. It may be easier to explain how our grease guns work by watching a couple of RU-vid videos. I've attached a few videos for you to view. Please let us know if you have additional questions. Please also feel free to visit our website at locknlube.com. We are hear to help! That question also drives me crazy. I assume that the spring is immersed in the grease somehow, when it is released. I didn't see any films which say what is going on inside of the gun.
Thanks for your question. I've attached a couple of videos that might be easier to break down the grease gun works rather than explaining it. Visually, I think it will make more sense. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bji-xp689Tc.html - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aGI0rURxMhE.html
More than several times, the detent that locked the push rod all the way out, slipped before I could screw on the head. All the grease in my new cartridge pushed out and was wasted. How do you prevent that??
Joe, check out this video for priming a 20v DeWalt. Should be the same process, and this guy does a great job explaining: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gaMEfwDtJzQ.html
