Getting trained right now. One more week and I will be setting off on my own. Your video's are very informative. Love the way you implement the use of a "Drone" to help spot!
Personally the wedge is a lot easier u can get a 4 car wedge and can do taller vehicles and could conpisate for the 5th car the mini 5 not that comfortable to use
Been watching a ton a videos trying to self learn. I've been driving big truck for a long time and just tired of it. I'm looking at getting a mini 5 and a Dodge 3500 to start. Hopefully I'm operational in 3 weeks. Thank you for the videos.
iam training just like this on a kaufman let me tell you its hard but once you can align your tires straight on the playground its straight back slow i trapped myself several times by turning wheel on second floor no good waste of time. good luck great job
Very good! Being up that high and doing this job is not something most people can not do!!! Lots of responsibility. Even more so when transporting high end luxury vehicles as well!!
CHYKKO D'TRANSPORTER Do you often have problems with DOT at weigh stations? I mean overloaded rear axle and so on... What is their attitude to the f-350 with 5-car hauler? Thank you.
Hey Nick, there is not that much difference at all other than the tractor will outlast the dully, tractor consumes less fuel for the same load (5car), same when it comes about insurance, but very much about the same brother. One thing with the tractor you can move to a bigger trailer like the max 6, 7 or even 8 car carrier. Me personally dont like the single axle, I would have bought a regular tractor with all three axles so when the time comes to change for a bigger trailer I wouldn't have to worry about being over weight
If it's raining, yeah the heavier vehicles like trucks and SUVS do lose traction, but its doable, worse case scenario you roll it down and start again with a bit more momentum
I recommend you to start when you ready, it takes a lot more than just buying the equipment, insurance downpayment is very high for beginners, also the monthly payments and all the other licensing fees, MC, equipment registration and then maintenance cost regardless if your equipment is new or used, you'll need money kept away for emergency that will happen. Also i recommend you to start when is busy in your area like summer time, dont start on winter when the loads are slow, you need to build up your clientele and is hard to do it on a slow season.
chase tha gogetta, thanks for the comment, I believe in straps been better than chains but if you can do both for safety even better. I always strap all four tires and it has been working great for me. I recommend the 3 point straps over any other straps out there.
Ima get a older cummins duelly next month and ima start with a 3 car trailer in phoenix az. Would u say central dispatch is a good website to get loads?
Yakov Kalontarov, thanks for the question, we've now established a regular route with a few customers but we used to use central dispatch in the beginning. Most auto Transporters start off with a dispatcher & central dispatch as well as other websites (no secret at all)... It takes time, effort and dedication for this companies to trust you with loads...
