I'm surprised this video didn't get more likes. I'm trying to get into this business, and I appreciate you making videos like this ,please continue I'm learning a lot.
Thanks for the video bud. Been hauling car for 6 months with a 3/4 car Texas Pride and have had a lot of issues with the trailer and Texas Pride as a company. I will be picking up a brand new Kalfmen mini 5 from the North Carolina manufacturer this week.
Wyllshaun Gipson I had a mini five for two months it was the worst trailer I ever had so I sold it as soon as I could, I paid 18,000 for it and sold it for 16,000 and I put a few thousand in it so that was a learning experience
@@Floridamuscle because the ramps have to be lifted and placed everytime instead of them flipping or sliding out. They do suck. Too many small design flaws on those
@@Floridamuscle Hey Khris. Hope all is well. I picked up my EZ4 last week. Did you have anyone train you? What's the best way to learn? Did you practice with your own vehicles when you started? Getting ready to get rolling soon as I do my DOT inspections
@@Floridamuscle ok cool thanks. I got a few guys I'm gonna roll with. Only issue Is they all have 3 car trailers. I'll just take my time though. Just need to make sure I pull up correctly and dont scrape the bottoms. I got some wood also. Appreciate the videos!
Rome About Business Well here’s my advice take your corners slow and take your time don’t ever put yourself in a situation where you have to back up and above all else fuck everyone else on the road meaning when people are blowing the horn giving you the middle finger and trying to cut you off just take your time and do what you think is safe so you don’t have any problems . Fuck them, I get the middle finger all day long I don’t give a shit long as I get to where I’m going without tearing my shit up or someone else’s and never do over 70 mph whether you’re pulling a load or not!
@@Floridamuscle its really hard to find videos of people actually connecting the dually to the 5th wheel and showing what all you need to get started. Id love a video of that
enjoyed the video. same set up im looking at. Any advice you can give me on just getting into the business, as well as any issues you've experienced with the ez4 other than battery life?
Great video, being in this business for so long, cars getting more expensive and fragile, I'd think it would be better to get that j hook replaced mini j, r, t cluster to avoid suspension damage. Them full size j hook's would be good to pull junk cars on.
Mark Williams he lives and stays in a 250 mile circle around his house/job cmon man y’all gotta get educated on these rules and learn to use them to our benefit
I was looking for this, I've been at it about a year and a half with a 4 car trailer & I always back on the top two to distribute the weight of the motors. There's a big difference in the feel of the ride
Would you be able to fit two pick up trucks on the bottom for example a GMC Sierra long box reg cab and an extended cab GMC Sierra 1500? Please respond would appreciate it. Love the content. Subscribed. Cheers !!
Sorry it took me so long to respond I’m just now seeing this anyway no you cannot have two pick ups on the bottom you can only have one car and one pick up or transit van on the bottom.
Thanks for the video. I also have a 4 car and will be starting in the spring 2019. Can you please tell me if you guys are making descent money. I know the insurance is hella high. Thanks.....
fritzduval Yeah insurance is ridiculous they want all the money, and everybody’s money is different it Just depends on how long you been doing it what contacts you have if you are using load boards or you are directly connected with dealerships also what state you are in and if you are going out of state or not .
Hey bro, thanks for the video. Subscribed. Question on the EZ4. Does the tail end swing a lot or is it stable? Do you have issues with height? I need a 4 car trailer and just getting info before purchasing. I've seen a 4 car trailer with 2 axels. More axles better or worse in your opinion?
When I was in a hotshot the dot told us we couldn't connect the safety chains or the emergency trailer brake to the fifth wheel mount because if the whole mount was to break off then them chains and that cable isn't being pulled so they made us move them to I bolts that was through the truck itself
I don't think you even need the chains with a 5th wheel connection. The breakaway cable is supposed to be connected to something not part of the hitch or hitch mount, that is true.
Question. Is this better setup than say a wreck tow truck with flatbed. Are you able to get cars on your trailer that don't run? Or is this setup best for cars that actually run/drive. And also I'm here in cali.as O/O are you paid %, com or flat rate per car.if so like 250/3 per car/drop.new to it just trying to get idea so I'm not getting played out here in calo bro..hahha salute the channel and content.
As long as the car rolls i can get it on here and as far as money goes I don't know the rates in cali but I personally don't get out my truck for less than $100 per car. Thanks for the love
Hey Khris's are you Using F350 Truck and Which Year is That? how does its holding up with the EZ4, do you drive Inter State and How Per do you go Please. Thanks for the Video.
Safiyanu Ali usually I’m in my 2011 Chevy 3500 but the crankshaft broke so right now I’m using my 2015 F350 and I’m not particularly fond of fords but it is what it is and no I do not go out of state I am in Florida only.
Pulling RVs at the moment. However what you are doing is my end game. This is the trailer I've been looking for. Because of the 5th wheel hitch. I'm not going to delete the bed though, do you think that would be an issue? Thanks for the tutorial Homeboy.
Need to take a look when throwing those big J gooks on the A arms to make sure the CV boot isn't hitting the hook. I've personally done it too many times. Went to the mini J hooks and went to the slots (double wall) in the frame or sub-frame
I guess you have to put that pin before enter with any car a the lower deck, just in case the lift cylinder don’t loose pressure and drop down in your head.
Humility First I use Lucas wheel bearing grease probably about once every two months in the joints And I probably squirt about three pumps in each joint.
Humility First I bought mine on craigslist for 12,000 so I wouldn’t spend more than that and mine is a 2017 and had really low miles pretty much didn’t have much use
@@Floridamuscle basically when the tires are almost falling in the middle of the trailer off the trailer when your loading and unloading i was wondering was there like a technique to drive it straight up the trailer without assistance from somebody
@@Floridamuscle Thanks for your response. Delivering cars from Texas to California and back to Texas. I will continue to watch your videos and learn through your experience.
Oh shit damn I just seen that, is it still worth it getting into hotshotting cars, I’m 29 and I’ve been hauling concrete for 5 years and I’m ready to start my own thing going not for the money but I want to make more money and have more home time I live in Dallas tx and it seems like it’s plenty of work coming and going out this city.
@@Floridamuscle thanks so much for fast reply. 🙏🏼 what's that connecter called in the back of the truck that snaps to trailer? Did it come with the truck or did you buy it? If so, where can I buy that thing and what's it called? Please help a brother out. 🙏🏼
@@Floridamuscle it’s a 2005 ram 3500 6 speed manual 2wd …is their a way I can send you a picture to see maybe you can give me some pointers … just trying to get all the bugs out of it before I start
Matthew Dunn So it’s impossible to know how much weight you’re really putting on it so I pretty much will put anything that will fit LOL so you can get three F150s and one car on it or two F1 50s a car and a transit van on the back or three SUVs and one car
Okay thanks, I was hoping you’d say that, haha. I was just wondering. I have a 25k lb 5th wheel on my gmc 3500 dually. I know this trailer weighs 10k lbs, and was curious if I could just load it up like you’re saying, or if I needed to keep the load around 15k lbs
Matthew Dunn The trailer weighs 8000 pounds and I have a 24K hitch on one truck and I have a 20K hitch on the other and I’ve never had any problems just make sure you inspect grease and maintain your hitch at least once a month and make sure you are using your lube plates
Nice, thanks! The trailer came with a lube plate when I bought it. To my understanding, it replaces having to use grease? Also, this is my first time having a 5th wheel on my truck so I’ll have to search proper maintenance. It’d be cool if you made a video on this. 😎
don,t understand why you use trailers that is so high in the front . if you run a low trailer on a deck truck your fuel saving would be a lot plus you could haul freight if you wanted to
Well sir for one you can’t get four cars on a straight flat trailer and for two in the state of Florida you cannot move freight and vehicles under the same DOT number as far as these bloodsucking insurance companies are concerned. I just had to start a whole separate entity just to move freight.
