The stabilization takes a big hit, and although the image looks nice on the edges where motion is higher the lack of quality for me makes its use on MTB questionable. For drones though, it is excellent!
I love the look of ND filters but I'm skeptical of investing as I feel like mixed riding between open sections and dense forest would make it difficult... Those trails look sick btw!
That's a problem for sure. The sacrifice you make is in ISO - It has to raise when you enter a forest, which is why I expose for the absolute brightest spot then allow ISO to increase slightly. There aren't many trees at this trail, so it was fine. In places where there are dense trees then dense openings, the ND filter would be touch.
I fly fpv drones and usually run 30 fps, change between 1/60ss and 1/120. if I'm doing something fast the 1/120 still gets that motion blur but keeps a bit more detail
That's awesome! I love FPV drones. Don't have one myself but they look sweet. I think you go a bit faster than me in one though :). I might play around with 1/120 or 1/90 because I've had a few people say the 1/60 can be a bit much. It just depends on the speed I guess.
