I loved working on this project! I have never attempted to make something to wear! I’m so proud of myself as tonight I finished the poncho cape. I cannot wait to buy the buttons not sure what color yet. Thank you for a very easy to follow tutorial.
As you are someone that has made this can you help, when combos are mentioned I’m not sure what that means I prefer a pattern that tells you how many rows etc at the beginning when it’s mentioned 5 combos does that mean 1 knit row 1 purl 5 times for 10 rows in total.
I love it💕. I love the tutorial. I did knitted this poncho and looks so beautiful. I'm sure my sister is going to love it. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I was hoping that you would do something like this because I couldn't find a good video on how to do this! I just finished making one of these for my mom! It is a bit time consuming but it was totally worth it because my mom loves it! Thank you so much for posting videos! I can't wait for your next video! :)
I am currently using your other videos to make an Infinity Scarf with an Elongated Stitch and I just found my next project. Your videos are amazing, and really simple to follow.
Hi! I made the poncho, and it turned out great. I have a picture of it, if you want to see the end result. I am now trying the shrug. Thanks for your wonderful videos.
Just made this and i love it. I would like it a bit longer in the body so i have made a couple panels and sewn them across the bottom of the cape. It is an awsome cape how it is too.
I've been super happy wit all the videos you post. :) you make it super easy for me. I've made several things from your videos :) my boyfriend is wanting a knights helmet. I find the other videos haRd to follow and super extensive. I am hoping you would post one of how to make one. Thank you so much for all of the awesome help
Amanda Miles thank you so much for your positive feedback :) a knight's helmet is already a pending issue on our list, so we'll try to show how to make on in a future video tutorial :)
Hi Tuteate! I start doing your cape poncho now with two strands (burgundy and moss green:) - wish me luck to finish this big project (for beginners like me lol) so far I did it all right by following exactly your video ( the two color hays, mittens and basket) so thanks to you! Yous should make a dvd of all your Perfect Instruction video girl! Thanks again - zara , brisbane Australia
Hi ! I just sent you my poncho! Done in 3 days LOL. Question : if i want to make it longer, whats the calculation for dcreasing? Can you give me guidance? Do I need bigger loom and more peg? Thanks
Hi, I been working on this poncho you showed in the video for over a week! It's really fun and relaxing and you did a great job in showing the steps. My question is how could I make this poncho more longer??
I scrolled to see if anyone else asked this. And six years ago she did answer this. She says no because you would need more pegs. I'm going to find out if its doable though. Just need to finish a project on my loom first.
Hello.. Thanks a lot for sharing videos in such a precise manner. If possiblePlease tell how to decide the size of the sweater or any project . Thanks in anticipation!
Hello! I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how to do a netted hat? I have only found one video and I couldn't quite follow along. I love your videos! I made this poncho and it came out perfect! I am very new to loom knitting and this was super easy! Thank you so much!
Absolutely love this project! but i was wondering if there's a way to make this longer down the back. If I used a rectangular loom what would adjustments would I need to make to the pattern? Thank you!!!
I really love your videos and have shown them to everyone who ask about loom knitting! My only question is I'm never sure which yarn weight to use? It looks like the bulky 5 or more? I've been experimenting some with different yarns but is there one you recommend more? BTW what I love best about your videos is there is no useless chatter so I can concentrate on what your doing instead of all the rest! Please keep them coming because they are absolutely the best videos around!
+Amanda Hurst hi! Thank you so much for your feedback and your nice words :) We normally use yarn recommended for knitting needles of at least 6mm (such as Katia Canada or Phildar Rapido). I guess that means weight size 5, but I am not sure since we don't have this reference in Europe. Hope this helps!
+Miranda Mutsaers i used a 40 peg loom. try a 30 peg loom and adjust the pattern. start with the cast on and use 7 combos on 22 pegs, then 15 combos round the loom, decrease like the video til u get to the 5th peg instead of the 7th. follow the pattern til u have 3 groups of 15 combos and 16 decreases. bind off 7 pegs and make 6 combos. i haven't tried it yet, but i will once i finished this one.
+Miranda Mutsaers i altered pattern i used is working perfectly, so far. i messed up a bit when i said "7 combos on 22 pegs" and "bind off 7 pegs and make 6 combos, i meant "4 combos on 22 pegs" and "bind off 8 pegs and make 3 combos". i used a 40 peg loom and altered it to fit a 30 peg loom. a 31 peg loom would work too.
I love your tutorials. I want to make everything!!! I do have a question...you said 5 combos...so I should have 10 rows total right? I just want to be sure I understand correctly. Thank you!!!
Kimberly Hardy hi! Thank you :) (and sorry for this late reply! Happy new year!) Yes, you totally understood, when we said 5 combos we meant 1 row of e-wraps and 1 row of purls (and that done 5 times in total)
Absolutely beautiful project! I can’t wait to have time to do these while watching! I have a question...when you wrap twice...are they in certain places?? Thank you! ♥️🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼
Love this pattern. I have made 3 so far, but was wondering if you had printed out directions/pattern so I don’t have to keep finding where I need to be in the video! Thanks!
I just LOVE this poncho!! You make it so easy to learn new & different techniques for loom knitting beautiful things :) How would you modify this poncho to fit a wider shoulder? The model looks to be a very small build, so was wondering how this could be made into an XL size or above? Thanks again for your videos!!
Tami Walsh hi! Thank you so much :) If you want to make it wider, you will need to work more rows. You will see we work this poncho in 3 parts. Each part is: 20 full combos of rows + 23 combos with decreases (from peg #29 to #7). We would suggest you to add more full combos. You coul for example work each part doing: 24 full combos + 23 combos with decreases from peg #29 to #7).
PS: There are a couple people on the loom knitting groups on FB that have done it...in the same color....and it turned out fantastic! I just love her videos *heart*
Tuteate your videos are amazing! Thank you! I'm making this poncho now but I'd like to make a long poncho for adults too. Would you be willing to make a video on a long poncho for adults? Or a hooded cape for adults....like the comment below. Maybe both? HAHA!! You have skills & we need your help!! Stay awesome! =)'
Thank you so much for this video. I finally made poncho myself...so happy about it. I was wondering if you could please tell me if I would like to make color pattern? thanks again.
First loom project ever and the way the video was done is absolutely brilliant! Everything is so clearly explained and you can see clearly what you are doing! Thank you so much ❤️🌹❤️🌹can't wait to finish it. Are you on Instagram so I can tag you in completed work
Thanks for responding! I had to make it bigger for my mom. I'm very excited and a little bit scared I didn't make it big enough but either way I'm sure it'll be a great piece.
Miguel Dallas hi I have made mine bigger by using a bigger loom and I cast on 40 pegs and I did 4 sets of combo instead of 3 as I found the 3 sets just weren’t big enough to wrap around my shoulders, hope that helps
I would love to talk to Ena Briggs about how she made the poncho longer. Where do I add the extra set of combos! After the first set of combos? I need help.
Hi, I like this pattern very much, and currently working it. I have a question about the decrease. It was mentioned 23 combo decrease. Does it mean that I need to do 23 set of "decrease for #29, #28, #27, #26, #7"? If yes, it will be quite wide for UK6-8. I hope someone can help me. Thank you in advance.
I like the poncho and always followed your ways to knitting my favorites 😍 But I have a question about the size How can I make one for my 3years daughter ? How many pegs can I use ? Thank you so much
Judy Chen oh! We'd love to see your result :) (feel free to send us a picture to info@tuteate.com if you want). To make it smaller you could work less than 20 full combos at each part (for example, you could do 17 combos and then the combos with decreases)
I wish you would give measurements for people using a different thickness as well as stiches per inch/cm and rows per inch/cm yarn as I would like to make this for my wife using Shetland wool which is much thinner, I have doubled the thread and it is giving me a nice result.
I hope you still answer posts. how many more pegs and wgat adjustment to pattern for more length? Thank you love the written instructions with the video
Cheraine Agoff hi! If you want to make it wider, you will need to work more rows.
Good afternoon, please in french or subtitle french. Your tuto is very interesting and very beautiful. Poncho is very beautiful. Thanks. Good continuation. Cordialy.
Elle2074 thank you! :) Maybe you could use a 31 peg loom and make a division after peg #23 (instead of after #29). You should also work a less number of full combos and decreases (you will see when we do that on the video), but we cannot tell you the exact number of them, sorry
Hello, I love your tutorials and I'd love to make this, however, I'm a plus size girl and I wondered if you hand any tips on sizing it up? It would need to be longer and also wider. I have loads of looms so a larger than 41 is possible.
I love your videos, so easy to do ! so beautiful ! I wanna ask you if i can do this project with the jersey knitting stitch or another stitch ? (i'm french so, i know that i'm doing so many mistakes, be kindful) hope you do new tutorial soon !
hi, I really love this poncho pattern but I am wondering if it is possible to make this longer a few more inches? I am new to looming and really wanting to make this. Do you have an idea what size this pattern would fit? Would it fit someone who is about size 18? Thanks so much in advance.
Marsja Huibers thank you! We should... that is a pending issue... For the moment we have some written directions here (in Spanish, but maybe you could use Google translator): www.tuteate.com/2014/12/17/cubrete-con-una-capa-poncho/
This is a nice one but l "ve tried it, it is too wide for me because l follow the instruction you gave Tami Walsh but then it is just too wide please what can l do now, this is a beautiful work thanks once again
Hi Tuteate , As most of them said, the videos are super interesting and such an achievements for me. By any chance have you posted a video for a wrap / soft blanket ? could be I have missed as I logged on to your site very recently. Thank you so much for sharing. Regards
Irene Arabatzoglou :) thank you! No, there are no buttonholes, I sewed the buttons on one side and then I passed them through the "holes between stitches" of the other side :)
Ohhhh my ,i wish i could do this But i have loads of school work Will try to squeez some time for it Can you try and make a tutorial for doll pants i want to make some for my panda bear he is a boy (Im 13 but that child inside me is still alive ) can you consider doing this thank you alot
This is going to be a huge ask. But if I wanted to make the poncho longer(up and down longer) and wanted to add a hood, what would I need to do? I saw this cool hooded poncho pattern on Etsy and wanted to try making one… Only, the pattern was for crochet knitting, not loom knitting…
If I wanted to make this longer, how would I do that? I am BRAND new to making ponchos on looms & want longer one but LOVE the look of this one so I started this one!
I think the only way to make this longer would be to use a larger loom and apply the same knitting concept because the length is determined by the length of flat panel you can knit with this loom.
@@melissaspradley8901 darn.....Thank you! I am still in the process of making this one. But really looking for longer ones. Thank you for your response!
