Yours is the best tutorial out there. Many go too fast or they use yarn that you can't see very well or they just have their hands in the way... Thanks for making them
You are the best one I ever seen so far! I brought looms long time ago and it has been sitting in the closet because of no instruction where it was not too great. I am such a visual person and I am so glad that you made this video! THANKS! Therefore, you added subtitle. Thank you so much! That is useful for me.
Tuteate I noticed U-wraps is difficult to work with. I get my fingers blister from it. Do you have a different way for the knit one? I have no problem with purl and it was pretty quicker than U-wrap. I am not sure why. Let me know! :)
Hi Distracted Grandma ! :) Thanks for your comment. It takes some time to answer all the questions, so that's why we hadn't replied to Kayla or to you yet :) You are right, we didn't mention how many rounds of each we made. We started this hat from the top knitting 8 rounds and purling 5 rounds. However, we changed the number of each on the way. After you work a certain number of "knit rounds" and "purl rounds" you will see which one you prefer to be more visible on your hat. For your reference, at the end of this post you can find the directions from Catherine, another lady who followed this tutorial and told us how many rows of each she made: www.tuteate.com/2014/06/09/teje-un-gorro-caido-con-visera-en-telar-circular/ Hope this helps!
I want to thank you so very much for doing such a gr8 job with teaching loom knitting I really have love all the new fingerless mitts I will sell and scowls now I moving on with you. Much love gurl....
Candylipstee Easterling hahaha thank you so much for your nice words! :) Feel free to send us pictures of your results to info@tuteate.com if you want, we'd love to see them!
Wow 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Thank you so much for this video. I had a great time doing my hat. I enjoy doing arts and crafts, finding these videos you provide, I sit at my office and cast to my TV and relax creating beanies for my clients and patients. Great ideas.... Thank you.
The actual middle of the video isnt there and what are some rounds. I counted what rounds you did after cast on. U wrap 2 rounds 2x around the 41 peg. Then purl 2 rounds. Then it just leaves you high and dry about what your suppose to do. Could you please upgrade this video. Would really appreciate. Then in the comments you say 8 rounds uwrap 5 rounds purling but where do you start this. Hope you do an upgrade to this as i would love to make it but i cant with this video this way. Ill try another one of your videos. Ive done so many im running out. Keep them coming great work
Xim Sylva great! ^_^ we'd love to see your result, feel free to send us a picture to inf@tuteate.com if you want. We are sharing them here: www.tuteate.com/2014/06/09/teje-un-gorro-caido-con-visera-en-telar-circular/
Thank you for the amazing tutorial. I just finished the hat, I'm giving it to one of my sisters. I made it off white and added a sunflower on the side. It looks so beautiful. Thank you for making it so simple and well explained.
Thank you so much for such a great DIY video. I always wanted to knit and I followed this and made the most spectacular Sluchy Beanie (it is a little longer, with mistakes and a longer visor) and I lLOVE IT!! I even figured out how to fix the mistakes from this great video. When the rains come, my long hair will be dry and I will be smokin :) I did this in two days. This beanie has so many looks depending on length, yarn color (mine was harder because it was a multi-blended color), but it came out fantastic. In fact, it is pretty exotic (because of my mistakes)...hugs!
Catherine Carr hi! Great news! Thank you so much for your comment! We'd love to see your exotic result (because of your multi-blended color)! :) If you want to, you can send us a picture to info@tuteate.com and we update our blog post with your result: www.tuteate.com/2014/06/09/teje-un-gorro-caido-con-visera-en-telar-circular/
Sharon Pritchard shepherd great news! We'd love to see your result! :) (if you want to, you can send us a picture to info@tuteate.com) Thanks for your comment!
First off I have Adult ADHD, and I learn by following along. I don't read instructions, because most of the time it is gibberish to me. Kayla asked you "How many rounds did you do of each one"?. This is an important step that you are leaving out. I noticed that you have answered everyone except her, so why is that? I have the same question, how many rows of each?
Jedi Grrrl hi! We started knitting 8 rounds and purling 5 rounds (but we changed the number of each on the way, that's why we didn't specify a certain number, because we didn't keep the same number all along the hat). After you work a certain number of "knit rounds" and "purl rounds" you will see which one you prefer to be more visible on your hat. (Note: at the beginning of this tutorial we are working the top of the hat, not the part closer to the visor)
hello i am from belgium and i have making a lot of hads from tour channel tommorow i begin with the beannie with vissor see how this is gowing greetings yasmine
hi I love the hat love what you did and how you made it but I would like to make one myself the only problem is that I only have the one with 30 peg. can it be done with a 30 peg?
Someone has asked me to make a visor beanie for them. With all the putting stitches back on the loom, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be easier to start with the visor - casting on what you need for the visor, make that, put the original loops on the loom to fold over and then cast on the remaining stitches on the loom to begin making the hat. That way you can just do a regular drawstring cast off, without having to put those stitches back on the loom as well. I love this yarn you use. I sure wish xl cotton was as easy to find in the States as it apparently is for you to get :)
+vegangelist hi! You are totally right, it will be much more easier :) (I just thought that at the end, when I had the project almost finished). The XL cotton thread used here is called "DMC Algodon Natura XL" (I'm not sure if I already said so) and I hope you can find it too :)
After the visor 1st. Would you then increase all around im visual so its hard for me to understand that but i feel your right about doing the visor first.
wow. that was awesome. thank you for making a video tutorial for us to learn from. only got one question. Can you tell me what loom to use to make this for my 5 year old daughter? And how many pegs to use for the visor? thank you again and keep the tutorials coming.
+Brigitta Nagy hi! :) Thank you for your comment. For your 5 year old daughter we recommend you to use the 31 peg loom and just 13 pegs for the visor :) Please let us know how it goes, ok? :)
Can visor be done first ? my 1st c/o would be 1-18 then a turn and wrap etc down to visor being done fold visor then do i cast on remaining pegs and ew rows and P rows for 29cm.. then B/O Will it work? Thank you any thing else I need to know?
Does anyone actually know what the pattern is for this one? The video said, do "some round" of this, and some rounds of that...hard to know how many knits and how many purls. Thanks
Hello great hat. Would love to make this hat but how many rounds of knitting and purling do u do? In all ur vids U usually say how many rows or U measure by cm's but I've noticed in this particular hat U do not include the amount of rows for each. Thank u
646mtorres hi! Thank you so much :) You are right, we didn't mention how many rounds of each we made. We started this hat from the top knitting 8 rounds and purling 5 rounds. However, we changed the number of each on the way, and we didn't count them, sorry. After you work a certain number of "knit rounds" and "purl rounds" you will see which one you prefer to be more visible on your hat.For your reference, at the end of this post you can find the directions from Catherine, another lady who followed this tutorial and told us how many rows of each she made: @2014/06/09/teje-un-gorro-caido-con-visera-en-telar-circular/Hope this helps!
I'm currently making this, but my yarn is a bit thicker. The part after making the visor, with using the yellow strand and then folding back, seems overly complicated and near impossible. Do you have any tips on this, I want to finish it and don't want to lose all the work in the hat.
Worked on this hat what seems like forever just to have to undo the whole thing. There has to be an easier way where you don’t have to do the Bill then remove from loom and put back on the loom. Pretty hat but I was using velvet type yarn that had to be doubled proved to be too many steps to keep up with the doubled yarn.
Can you help me? Is your yarn a worsted or a bulky? I usually use a bulky on a 41 peg loom however your yarn looks like a worsted. Thanks After studying the hat I have concluded Some rows would be 8 rows per section. Does that sound about right? I do so much want to get started om this Thank you for a great pattern
Love the pattern will try this. I always bind off my hat first. So you dont have tp put it on the loom again. Can you do this with this pattern. Love thus real slouchy. Most all patterns that say slouchy arent but this one is. Thank you. Also what gauge is XL cotton yarn.
Hi! Will my hat turn out like your's if I use one strand of t-shirt yarn? I love this hat and I want to do it right because I only have one skein of t-shirt yarn. It's a long, largish skein so I think I'll have enough to do the project, but I need to know if it'll work. Thank you! :)
TheHeathaaaa hi! You could use a 36 peg loom and, for the visor, you could try working just 14 pegs & 3 pegs deep (we haven't tried to make it for a child, but maybe this adjustments will be enough). Good luck!
+Loveless Demented hi! :) You can use two colors (or more if you want). Here you will see other people's results: www.tuteate.com/2014/06/09/teje-un-gorro-caido-con-visera-en-telar-circular/
Good Afternoon; Just want to say LOVE your tutorials! I have made 3-pairs of socks, 4-headbands; fingerless mittens and a Dog sweater and I just started looming this Spring :-) Okay Question: I have a 21-22 inch head, and normally wear a youth hat or if I can find it a small in adults...Will the 41-peg loom fit me? OR should I go down to the 36-peg (24 cm) one? I don't like to wear TOO tight, even slightly tight can hurt...but again, TOO big will blow off where I live (windy 10 months a year). Looking forward to hearing back from you. Take care and have a wonderful week! :-)
Did I miss the part where you finished the non visor part? I followed the video step by step and at the end, I still have the first half of the hat on loom? You went on to finish and close off the hat without telling me how to finish the complete rim of the hat? It's stuck on my loom with a 1/2 finished rim (the non visor part)? Please help!
Cindy Huppler hi! Maybe you stopped watching the video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-exPCvwYzC2g.htmlm43s (the video lasts 25 minutes). Hope this helps!
sa serai bien de traduire également en Français, personnellement je suis beaucoup votre cite mais parfois j'ai du mal merci beaucoup!!!!! et bonne année
LOVE THIS VIDEO & Probably Made like 5 Visor Beanies So Far!!! But Would a 36 loom work for a 2 1/2 yr old girl too & the visor still being 18 pegs & 4 pegs deep?!? I'm STUCK!!! Please Help!!! Lol
CLAIRE DOSS hi! :) 5 visor beanies! OMG! So glad to know this tutorial is useful for you :) Yes, you could use a 36 peg loom (if you see your result is too loose for her, you could try using a thicker yarn, it makes the hat get tighter). For the visor, you could try working just 14 pegs & 3 pegs deep (we haven't tried to make it for a girl, but maybe this adjustments will be enough). Keep us updated ok? :)
Kirsty Hingston hi! You mean casting on in the drawstring method and starting from the visor instead of from the top of the hat? It could work, we haven't try it, but if you do so please keep us updated :)
thank you for this tutorial! I just finished the hat and I love it! Also, I've been looking all over for a top hat style hat made on a loom, but can not find one. do you think if I make the visor all the way around it would come out with that kind of brim? I will test it out, but let me know! thanks a bunch again!
+carmella2914 hi! We'd love to see your result! (feel free to send us pictures to info@tuteate.com) Yes, maybe you can work it all the way around and, before folding it, use some carton or other material to put inside that helps you hold it somehow....
Hi! It seems you used alot of yarn can i just ise one ball of yarn? On super bulky 6 yarn one ball of yarn is i have thats all i have can i use one bulky 6 yarn ?? Thank you!
Bianca Rae Novelas hi! We used 150g of XL cotton thread (115 meters approx.), so maybe you will need more than one ball too... But it depends on how long you want your hat to be
I was wondering if you could use regular worsted yarn instead of thicker yarn and double wrap the pegs? I've seen it done but haven't tried a project yet that way.
Christie Bullard hi! You could try using 2 strands of regular yarn at the same time (as if you had a double-thick strand of yarn) and following the same directions shown in the video :)
What size hat do you think this is? I need to make one for a medium or large and was not sure if this is for a small, med, or large. Thank you!! Cant wait to make it!
All of the XL cotton yarn I find is #7. Would this work with #6 bulky weight yarn? I've had a tough time finding a visor hat pattern that doesn't require me to buy an expensive loom or you double point needles. I'm excited to try your pattern!
Crystal Price hi! We used thicker yarn in this other project and the result wasn't slouch: How to Loom Knit a 2-Color Hat (DIY Tutorial) (but you never know... please let us know when you finish it ok?)
Do you know how to make a shark beanie? I know there are several crocheted patterns online but I am not really good at crocheting could you possibly do a shark beanie because I love your videos.
Tuteate Finished the hat and it looks good. Unfortunately it was to small. I only did the knit stitch because the purl stitch looked a bit open and I am from Canada. It gets cold here in the winter. Any way I am going to try the hat again. I think my tension was too tight. When I watch the video you seem to be putting the loops over with no problem. Any tips.
Awesomesun1 hi! Depending on her size you will need to use the 36 peg loom or the 31 peg loom. The length is up to you... (we recommend you to make it longer than 20cm if you want it slouchy)
+Pamela Dixey Hi! You are right, we didn't mention how many rounds of each we made. We started this hat from the top knitting 8 rounds and purling 5 rounds. Kayla Still hi! We started this hat from the top knitting 8 rounds and purling 5 rounds. However, we changed the number of each on the way (that's why we didn't specify a certain number, because we didn't keep the same number all along the hat). I love your videos and everything I've made has turned out great except this hat. I've made two, the first one turned out tiny, my fault, I used a smaller loom. It might fit on a baby doll. But the second one I used the correct size loom and it still turned out small, I can barely get it on my head because the cast off stitching is so tight, it doesn't stretch that much. Oh well, I can probably give it to my 6 year old niece and she can have a matching hat with her baby doll. :)
+jemi1976 ohh! So sorry to know it came out so tight :( (however a girl with a hat matching her doll's hat sounds great). Maybe we could work some rounds of the last part alternating in elastic stitch (1 e-wrap - 1 purl), maybe that could help...
tterrier77 thank you! :) Here we used DMC Natura XL: www.dmc-es.com/Products/Needlework-Threads/Crochet-Threads/Natura-XL.aspx . On other projects we have used Katia Canada or Phildar Rapido.
+Lissie Garcia hi! Here we used a yarn called "DMC Algodón Natura XL", but you can use any yarn you want. Just make sure it's recommended for knitting needles of 6mm and above
+Andrea Escobar hi! Here we used a cotton yarn called "DMC Algodon Natura XL", but you can use the type you want (just make sure it's thick enough for knitting needles of at least 6mm)
