I am a very busy professional and driving a lot get distracted. At times I will grab a double meat double cheese bacon burger no fries w/ diet coke. I do keep Fiber / Berberine capsules in truck take that on the go. I lost 75lbs. I lift and walk 5 days week. I am sure I could cut faster more if I ate grilled chicken/ broccoli lunch not just dinner, but for my lifestyle this has helped me.

You know the worst part of your grab and go is the diet coke. Google how diet coke busts diets.

@adoarch, You're doing great, especially while driving so much! Keep it up! For even better health, I would try to get off the soft drinks if possible. Iced tea would be better, unsweetened with lemon or real sugar, or bring Stevia packets to sweeten it. Artificial sweeteners damage us neurologically and do not satisfy the sweet tooth, which drives hunger hormones up (Ghrelin), causing us to eat more!

I highly respect that Stan could acknowledge how all the endless diets, fads, and research cannot change purely behavior from eating processed foods and greater intervention must happen on a macro scale. I wish more people in the fitness world can understand that it's a moral failure on someone when they don't have the ability to make a "better" choice. Look into Native American history and how their access to water was taken, and were then provided packaged food from the government as their main source of food and how it's connected to an increase in diabetes. Also, I believe the word he was looking for was "food swamps" which are areas heavily concentrated with fast food/places with more processed food.

Many on the autism spectrum are also reporting to respond well when cutting out refined sugar/carbs and all plant foods. Chronic inflammation of the gut influences the brain; leading to for example anxiety, depression, bi-polar and schizophrenia; the gluten-connection links up with the 'bread madness' diagnosis made half a century ago.

Love Stan’s expertise! I feel like I’m always outside of the norms because I’m 5’2” and weigh 118 pounds. I desire to weigh about 110-112 my old normal. I’m 59 and fairly muscular. It seems nearly impossible to lose. I’m doing 1100 to 1200 cal a day high protein less carbs as even healthy carbs early in the day tend to make me want to overeat - I will try to dial that in with more water and careful tracking(licks bites, etc.) - I get in 10-13K steps on average - any other tips for someone petite like me?

Great interview. What really hurts the wallet right now is lean ground beef costs are insane. I think Walmart had 93% ground beef for over $8 per pound. I am considering dropping the carbs down to about 100g so I can increase my fat macros to account for 80/20 or 85/15 ground beef since that is a bit more affordable. 😅

Thank you for the interesting discussion; 2nd time listening... Had learnt so much - including the value of 10 min walks; really enjoying them 🤗 Recommending HRT for women is highly controversial, though. Nevermind how acceptable it had become; that's hardly an indication of it being beneficial. Negative remarks made in connection with the valuable work done by Gary Taubes and Jason Fung, were quite disappointing... Why would you be experiencing them as such 🧐 Appreciated though the positive remarks concerning chiropractors. Much benefit to chiropractic adjustment; by removing physical stress and background noise of interferance with nerve innervation, as well as sending the message to remove bone deposits... The testimony about hip joint regeneration reminds of John Bergman DC, whose knee was also re-generated in similar fashion; by faccilitating movement to stimulate bloodflow to joint cartilege... In the spine this is also how discs can be regenerated... 'Motion is the Lotion' & 'Blood is the Life Force' 👏👏👏

HRT is ABSOLUTELY necessary for post-menopausal women!!! Should we expect diabetics to not have their insulin(a hormone) replaced!?! What if men lost ALL of their testosterone!?!? Well, post-menopausal women lose ALL of their estrogen(a woman’s hormone for vitality). The WHI conflated their bogus HRT “research” which was incomplete AND caused panic, fear, and confusion to this day!!! The WHI, quietly, corrected that their “research” was insufficient…but too late! They have terrified women and doctors and now women are suffering, needlessly, from lack of estrogen. Estrogen should be given for Post-Menopausal women to FIRST AND FOREMOST protect against heart disease, Alzheimer’s, Osteoporosis, and breast and uterine cancer. Of course, there are some women who cannot take HRT due to their genetic risk factors. God says that people perish from lack of knowledge! People, be informed!!! The government is running our so-called “Health-Care-System”!!! Take care of yourself and use common sense! To believe the false, erroneously, and heinous narrative that estrogen will kill women who are post-menopausal(mind you, they lived well while estrogen coursed through their bodies pre-menopause), is to be willfully ignorant. Oh, wake up, women!!!

Well done for pointing out the difference between health&fitness, as well as the possible down-sides to over-training 👏👏👏 When it comes to obesity... As Robert Lustig points out: This is not the rootcause of metabolic dysfunction, since 60% of those with normal weight, are also metabolically unhealthy. As was mentioned: It's disturbing to witness the many under-weight (mostly) women suffering from some form of eating disorder; thereby not only compromising their own health, but also the health of their future children. A recent study for example found higher occurrence of autism amongst the offspring of vegans&vegetarians.

To lose fat quick. how about 1 year. if someone thinks that's a long time they FAIL. they have failed before they have started. If you think 1 year is a long time. ask yourself if you take zero action if that year will still pass. Answer to that is time will go on so u either get off you fat sh t and make a change or keep crying and making excuses. OH so you have a slow metabolism Good means you have to take action even MORE. Hope this helps

Potatoes, a nightshade vegetable (containing the alkaloid solanine - toxic in high concentrations); can end up being highly inflammatory, since causing leaky gut, and thereby triggering various auto-immune conditions. When it comes to lean meat: Well-proven that it's best to ingest meat with fat; similar to having the whole egg.

Max, I so agree about the digital scale!! A tablespoon of peanut butter is very subjective for most people - a "slightly rounded tablespoon" can mean an additional 30-40 calories easily... and honestly, most people pile on 2 tablespoons thinking it's one - so there goes an additional 100 calories!! It's so much better to calculate everything by weight!!

Was also wondering, since according to my understanding, officially it's been some time now already that saturated animal fat intake and higher cholesterol levels had been declared benign, and not related to increased risk for heart disease? Much more appropriate the reference to the dangers of oxidized, highly processed vegetable seed oils; considered to be an even greater leading cause of chronic inflammation than is refined sugar/carbs. Anyway, Weston Price's study of isolated people groups made a lasting impression on me: The diets were not the same, but all consisted of unprocessed, unrefined, locally produced foods, without unnatural additives. None of the healthy diets were low fat, and all contained some form/s of animal- and fermented foods.
