StarryFantastic well I remember i didn't feel like eating at all. I only drank water and ate very little for like 3 to 4 weeks. I started eating normally like a month and a half later.

Ive lost 25 lbs in 2 months from cutting out a lot of junk food, eating more fruit and sticking to eating a certain number of calories a day. Plus I do some aerobic exercise 2 times a week for 4 hours total. I loosen up on the weekend and have a few cheat meals but I don't go crazy. Seems to be working. I was 270lbs 2 months ago now Im 244lbs. Like they say its a long term commitment but if you are just consistent it works.

Thanks, I don't need to lose weight. I'm to my goal weight (lost 150 lbs) by eating real food, mostly plants, not too much (a la Michael Pollan). I chose to cut out soy and gluten as well.

"The bigger they are the easier they fall" in this case The bigger you are the easier the weight falls(burning more calories) The smaller you are the harder the weight falls(burning less calories)

Because trying to equate weight loss to calories is useless. Eating 2500 calories of whole plant based foods and you wont gain weight. The key is all the added fiber. Eat 2500 calories a day of processed garbage food (zero fiber) and enjoy your diabetes!

To summarize: Losing weight slower is much better as your body doesn't adjust it as rapidly. Just reduce your food intake by 10 calories (everyday) and eventually you'll lose a pound, but you will see the difference in around 3 years. Good luck to everyone who is on their weight loss journey!

as someone who suffered from an eating disorder for about three years of my life, this is extremely helpful. I went from 115lbs to 168 in two years and it has been very painful to me. I would like to be around 140, or more as I'm turning my fat into muscle. but I'm working on applying this to my life. it's a slow and steady process, and eating 100 calories and burning 2000, will indeed kill me.

The diet books say, if you have 2,000 calories, then that’s 0.25kg. So you would lose 2kg a week, and 7.7kg a mouth. Also add water weight to it, and that drop in water makes a difference on the scale. I lost 17kg in 3 weeks drinking tea, and it worked, but then without noticing, I put back on every kg I lost within 6 weeks. I was so pissed off. All that work and determination not to eat, and now I’m back to where I am. This is why it’s better to go slow.

The body has to be in the state of ketosis to loose weight. When the body is in the state of ketosis it can not store fat it can only shed fat and other toxic weight. You have to eat 0-5 g of carbs per day and no caffeine for about 3- 4 days to get the body into the state of ketosis. Continue to eat 0-5 grams of carbs per day for week 1. After week 1 you can gradually add more carbs to your daily intake but don't exceed 40 - 50 grams of carbs per day through out your weight loss journey. Some people restrict caffeine even after the first week because caffeine spikes insulin so it slows weight loss. Buy a bottle of Keto Sticks , they are urine test strips. They tell you whether or not you're ketosing and how heavily you're ketosing. Don't urinate on it too long just wet it and examine it , that's all that's nessesary, and so you don't wash off the color dye. If there is pink/purple color on your tested strip it means you're ketosing. The darker the color means the heavier you're ketosing meaning the faster you're loosing weight. If no color appears on your tested strip it means you're not ketosing meaning you're not loosing weight. If and when you have a cheat day you may stop ketosing because of over consumption of carbs so all you have to do after a cheat day is start the diet over again by eating 0-5 g of carbs for a few days to get your body ketosing again. Eating fat while ketosing , especially rich animal fat , causes the body to ketose more heavily, satisfies appetite better, lubricates intestines , eyes and skin and protects and nourishes organs. No colon cleanser pills are needed on a ketogenic diet , it in fact can harm the body especially the kidneys. I had to quit the colon cleanser pills while keto dieting and I felt much better. On a ketogenic diet the body works hard enough on its own to shed the weight even colon weight. And animal meats are essential for replenishing muscle and organ tissue so don't restrict them. I remember this info from Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution book. Hope all goes well for you if you decide to keto diet!

Keep in mind losing weight differs heavily for each individual, the best way to lose weight is thru trial and error while using science as a vague guideline. What works for you may not for others.

Look Gorgeous started at about 185. It takes time... about a pound a week. You need to make sure you're eating at a caloric defecit.

Even though the animation is cute and funny, I don't like the advice. I know weight loss isn't a straight linear line. When you're lighter you will also need less calories. But I don't like how he says "3500 calories = 1 lb is bad". And then he tells us to eat 10 calories less a day, as if anyone can measure that properly! What a dumb piece of advice. The 3500 cal = 1lb rule still works. It's an approximation, and weight loss (might) slow down as you get more fit, but it's a far better guideline than saying "eat 10 less calories a day" which means to eat one less spoonful of yogurt, rice and cereal a day? What kind of stupid advice is that?

You guys are missing the point, but i dont blame ya. It wasnt delivered very well. if you eat 10 cals a day less, you will weigh one pound less, for the rest of your life. if you eat 100 cals a day less, you will weigh 10 lbs less for the rest of your life. But its impractical advice, because no one wants to wait 3 years to reach their goal weight. He's really just talking about "maintenance" eating. Its more practical to eat at a large deficit to lose weight.

It works. Just not long-term. And it'll ruin your metabolism in the process. The science is out, and calorie-restricting diets just dont work sustainably. What matters far more is what you eat and when you eat it. I've lost 10kg without counting a single calorie. And I'm not putting it back on.

I went through a journey with weight loss. I was obese at 5’2, 168 lbs. I started with cutting calories, which led to small portion sizes. I lost weight, but hit a plateau. So I gradually started cutting out processed foods, junk food, and I made myself cook everything. This made me resume my weight loss. Slowly, I started adding fresher, healthier ingredients, more fruits and veggies while maintaining those smaller portion sizes. I lost weight even more. I exercise now only to relieve stress, not to lose weight, but in the beginning I did work out like crazy to help speed up the weight loss process. I eat a mostly a fresh vegetarian diet (no fake meats… just fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains) and eat meat once a month or so. I figured it wasn’t worth the cholesterol and plus meat is super hard to digest.

very informative, i like the leaky bucket example, really got through to me. i lost 20KG = 45lbs in about 4-5 months , and ever since then the process slowed down a bit, still losing but slowly, was a bit upset about that, this video helped me understand why it slowed down now and thats its not a bad thing, body needs its time to adapt, i gained that weight in 10 years, cant expect to shed it off in 6 months without serious health problems.

@@anuronguha0898 hey, I started at 145kg back in early 2015, my best weight since has been 102kg, but currently I'm allowing myself to stay between 104-106kg because it's the best weight for me where I can keep some strength, eat stuff I want to eat, but also look acceptable and feel healthy I lost the first 20kg using Intermittent fasting and exercising The 2nd 20kg I needed to learn how to measure food and count calories, I don't have to train every single day now, I can take a day off here and then by decreasing the amount I eat in that day a little bit Counting calories is difficult at first but after a few months of doing it, it becomes almost instinctual, you can look at something and know approximately how much it weighs and how many calories are in it

@@anuronguha0898 also I use an application called "fat secret", it's the best calorie counter I've tried because if you input your region, and search for certain foods, it knows some of the food brands that are in your region and can tell you how much calories are in them. I also use a food scale to measure my food by weight, when I'm outside I learned to measure the weight of the food by the size of the portion (it's easy after a few months of doing it don't worry)... This is by far the best way to eat certain foods like pizza and chocolate while also losing weight because you adjust your portions properly

They explained it soo well, I watched this video long ago and let me tell you guys i have a fair share of ups and downs in losing Weight and what I have done in the past is I joined gym lost weight, did not maintain and gained back all of the weight again. It's soo frustrating that every Time I have to start again and do everything all over again, it's a stress. But you can not run away from it. You can not do it In sprints. You have to run the marathon that too a very very long one.

@@BodyMastermind It's going smooth 😊I'm doing walks and trying to eat healthy. Compared to the stress I used to feel, I'm much more calm and flexible now. I can easily walk for hours without leg pain and can sustain climbing which Is indeed an improvement.

U can never be that exact to know u are cutting 10 calories a day. I count my calories. Even if u are eating prepackaged processed bad food everyday every meal, u burn different amount of calories every day and absorb them differently. 10 calories to be that exact is b/s, if it was that easy everyone would be fit, u can burn 10 calories by doing 1 minute of jumping jacks before u sleep, good luck. I am burning 1000 calories a day cardio and lifting heavy 3 days a week to keep my strength and lose fat and it's still moving very slow, a 4 month cut. These nerds have theroy and books but no real actual proof, like many of them believe they came from nothing dead matter, they make fake pictures and statues of people evolving from monkeys and the people follow them?

Overweight folks probably have no idea how many calories they are eating.....ever. Not even a ballpark figure. I eat about 2,000 calories a day....four 400 calorie meals a day and about another 400 in snacks. I weight 127 lbs, so a 1,270 calorie a day diet would put me in a caloric deficit, while a 2,540 calorie a day diet would put me in a surplus. I run 2 miles every Thursday wearing a 20 lbs vest, and I run 5-10 miles every Sunday. I strength train every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Consistent cardio, consistent strength training, and consistent diet.

If anybody needs a quick little workout, here's mine: 20 barbell squats 15 minutes 2mph on the treadmill, small incline 45 minutes 2mph on the treadmill, no incline 10 bicep curls 10 reverse curls My barbell by itself weighs about 20 pounds and I use it on my shoulders for my squats and also for my curls. This isn't to build muscle but to lose weight while keeping some muscles. Do it everyday. Adjust it if you like. Enjoy :)

I weighed 161 two weeks ago. I haven't been eating my staple rice. I avoid carbs, sugars and oils. So far I've been eating salads, boiled eggs and grilled chicken drumstick and it keeps me full the whole day. I only eat in the evening and then enjoy fruits as my dessert. I am now at 151. My goal is 130-140 by summertime. I do like this healthy lifestyle more because I am feeling lighter as I go. At 161, I was starting to struggle walking and felt exhausted if I walk for too long. I feel so good inside so I don't think I will get out of this healthier life style anytime soon. I did join the gym but have been focusing more on my diet. At least its working out for me.

I've lost about 30 lbs over the past year. Most of it due to rigorous exercise, (3-4 mille runs 2 or 3 times a week plus 2 days of weight lifting) but I also watched a lot of what I ate during the weekday. This somewhat offsets for my unhealthy weekend lifestyle (i drink a lot and eat out a lot on weekends). My suggestion is incorporating the healthy lifestyle as part of your weekly routine (school or work) This way it almost seems like a natural thing you do and not a chore.

What helped me was simply not keeping unhealthy food nearby. If it’s harder to access, such as me having to go to the shop to get it, chances are I’ll decide it’s not worth it and just leave it. Also, if I do decide to have a sugary snack, I will have to walk to get it which helps.

The body has to be in the state of ketosis to loose weight. When the body is in the state of ketosis it can not store fat it can only shed fat and other toxic weight. You have to eat 0-5 g of carbs per day and no caffeine for about 3- 4 days to get the body into the state of ketosis. Continue to eat 0-5 grams of carbs per day for week 1. After week 1 you can gradually add more carbs to your daily intake but don't exceed 40 - 50 grams of carbs per day through out your weight loss journey. Some people restrict caffeine even after the first week because caffeine spikes insulin so it slows weight loss. Buy a bottle of Keto Sticks , they are urine test strips. They tell you whether or not you're ketosing and how heavily you're ketosing. Don't urinate on it too long just wet it and examine it , that's all that's nessesary, and so you don't wash off the color dye. If there is pink/purple color on your tested strip it means you're ketosing. The darker the color means the heavier you're ketosing meaning the faster you're loosing weight. If no color appears on your tested strip it means you're not ketosing meaning you're not loosing weight. If and when you have a cheat day you may stop ketosing because of over consumption of carbs so all you have to do after a cheat day is start the diet over again by eating 0-5 g of carbs for a few days to get your body ketosing again. Eating fat while ketosing , especially rich animal fat , causes the body to ketose more heavily, satisfies appetite better, lubricates intestines , eyes and skin and protects and nourishes organs. No colon cleanser pills are needed on a ketogenic diet , it in fact can harm the body especially the kidneys. I had to quit the colon cleanser pills while keto dieting and I felt much better. On a ketogenic diet the body works hard enough on its own to shed the weight even colon weight. And animal meats are essential for replenishing muscle and organ tissue so don't restrict them. I'm still 15 but I'd wanna be more confident and wear what I want to. Last August 2021, I started my weight loss journey. Though it was quite slow; for me that is. But I've managed to lose few pounds (wil be losing more ❤) and it made me more confident. I was 50 kg back then (yeah ik y'all be hatin me for trying to lose weight when I'm just 50kgs) but I wanna lose weight because I'm slowly gaining weight coz of quarantine. And my belly is too big, trust me, you'd mistake me for a prego😕. And this morning, November 11 2021, I'm finally down to 46.7 kgs!!💖💖 Not too big for 3 months but I'll take it than leave it. If you'd wanna know what I did, I ate less what I usually do. I still eat rice, but I made it lesser. Probably 1/3 of how much I normally eat. I still eat oreos lol but I'd only eat one each day. I only did 7 minutes flat belly workout for the first 2 weeks cuz I gave up, I'm too lazy and bit busy with schoolworks😅. I started counting calories on September 1st , but I quit after half of the month. I just ate less for the rest of the weeks till now. However, I started doing random exercises (I did a zumba last day, cardio workout yesterday, will be mopping the floor today lol) last day :))) I'll update after a month if I'd get a notif on this comment

Hey! Ur only 15, I was worrying abt that when I was 15 to but honestly girl rlly u look amazing! It's good to want to lose weight but please don't judge urself for it. U are beautiful as you are and I wish I didn't care so much in highschool, don't let it define who u hangout with or who u admire, ur body is beautiful in all stages. Also if it helps drinking lots of water helps. And having little snacks of what we like or give urself a whole day to binge and then avoid that for 4 days. It's basically keto and that diet is rlly helpful. But above all that rlly don't let it become ur life.. :( cuz I did and do and it's horrible :( our weight isn't everything relationships and our enjoying life is, and we forget that when we worry so much abt stupid weight

What I took away from this was basically as you lose weight your metabolic rate will decrease so you either have to lower your calorie intake or exercise longer or both. Just try to keep track of your bmr throughout the process.

Some people say blood testing is more accurate and quicker. I prefer the urine strips. I analize my ketosis the day after trying new packaged products also. Eating practically zero carbs for a few days should get your body into deep ketosis. Sorry to repeat myself but I hope this info helps people loose weight fast like my dad did. I mostly eat meat and their fats, low carb veggies and low carb fruit ,salads, nuts not so many cashews, unlimited butter, full fat sour cream and full fat mayo, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, heavy cream, avacados, Sweetleaf Stevia Sweet Drops (practically zero carb sweetener) too much is bitter so use a few drops at a time until it tastes right, it sweetens lightly but it's a life saver. If you're overweight, then I suggest starting with a keto diet first. Basically fatty meat with veges, as much as you want to get your body habituated to burning fat as a fuel source. If you want to lose excess weight (fat), then you have to train your metabolism to get used to burning fat. No sugar, no bread, no noodles, no carbs AT ALL. Carbs have an interesting metabolic effect since if it's not used soon, then it get stored as fat. Make sure you're eating enough salt, potassium and magnesium in the diet: critical. All available as supplements. After 2 weeks on the keto diet, you'll notice that your appetite has diminished and your cravings for random food goes down to zero. Next step is intermittent fasting - so have your last meal at 6 pm. Don't eat until the next day @ 10 am. Keep on doing this for a week, then have your first meal at 12 noon (so 18 hours with no food). Just a regular keto meal, enough to make you feel full. 1 week (or 2 weeks) later, have your first meal @ 2 pm. Only eat at 6 if you're hungry. When you're ready, eat only 1 meal @ 1 pm. Now you're on the OMAD (one-meal-a-day) fasting routine. Record how you feel, energy levels, cravings, sleep quality. Then attempt a 48 hour fast, and finally a 5 day fast. BUT! You MUST drink lots of water with potassium, magnesium and salt throughout the fast. Usually the first day is easy but day 2 and day 3 can be really tough. If you don't feel good at any stage, then go back to OMAD fasting. Fasting is not unhealthy if you do it right - think about it: our ancestors didn't have access to supermarkets/refrigeration and going without food for days was not unusual. Here's a shorter version sorry: The body has to be in the state of ketosis to loose weight. When the body is in the state of ketosis it can not store fat it can only shed fat and other toxic weight. You have to eat 0-5 g of carbs per day and no caffeine for about 3- 4 days to get the body into the state of ketosis. Continue to eat 0-5 grams of carbs per day for week 1. After week 1 you can gradually add more carbs to your daily intake but don't exceed 40 - 50 grams of carbs per day through out your weight loss journey. Some people restrict caffeine even after the first week because caffeine spikes insulin so it slows weight loss. Buy a bottle of Keto Sticks , they are urine test strips. They tell you whether or not you're ketosing and how heavily you're ketosing. Don't urinate on it too long just wet it and examine it , that's all that's nessesary, and so you don't wash off the color dye. If there is pink/purple color on your tested strip it means you're ketosing. The darker the color means the heavier you're ketosing meaning the faster you're loosing weight. If no color appears on your tested strip it means you're not ketosing meaning you're not loosing weight. Most of these 'diet teas' contain some form of laxatives and other chemicals, the weight you are losing is most likely water weight..so it comes back as soon as you stop or starts eating normally. Can you list the name of the tea?

if you get into good habits that you actually enjoy you'll be able to stay at a consistent fitness level. pick up a sport that you like so you look forward to exercise and it just becomes part of a routine. I find things like jogs or hikes or bike rides are really good for clearing your mind and getting time alone and to think as well as getting good air, which even if you're depressed and struggle with motivation like me, will make you feel a lot better. Find a foresty spot away from the town. There's nothing better than getting alone time and a breath of clean country air, especially after being cooped up all the time. if you completely turn off eating just junk food, it will seem gross to you and you'll have cravings for healthy food instead (I'm a vegetarian and I used to love meat but after a year the thought of it disgusted me), plus healthy foods are a lot more filling so you won't feel the need to snack. try to enjoy being fit, because if you don't enjoy it, it'll never work for you and you'll always end up giving up or binging. It's surprising how healthy eating (and I'm talking about stuff like hearty soups and stuff like middle eastern food, not salads and weightwatchers yoghurt) can give you so much emotional energy. And don't think "I'll only eat 1500 calories a day until June then go back to normal", because if you go back to normal, you'll just gain all the weight you lost. this is a lifetime commitment, so make sure it's a good one for you.

This is like rehab to me. All I can think about is food. While I'm eating, I'm already thinking about my next meal. *WHILE I'm EATING* and it's been like this for years. I always break my diet, always. I try to go slowly with baby steps but the baby steps are more like fetus steps because I do like 1/8th of the bare minimum. I'm fat and tired of feeling *fat*igued (lmao) all the time but I'm always shoving dishes to my mouth. I'll be full to the brim and still be eating, even if I don't want to eat but I eat through the discomfort of a full belly. It's vile. I hate doing it but I love doing it. I wish I could make better decisions. I'll be like this forever, no will power, no discipline, no consistency 😓

At 0:45 you should not say many diet books are wrong for saying that if you burn certain amount of calories, you are going to lose weight. They are actually right, but it's just that they didn't give enough information is why it won't work. You actually need to burn more calories than you eat is mostly what they needed to provide to customers.

You really should know roughly how many calories you are eating at all times. When you know, it’s easier then to make adjustments.

Eat less move a little more. This video is against eating less, which is what the body understands and adapts to. I lost 55 lbs eating less and it didn’t matter if I exercised or not, ( which I did ) I still lost the 55 lbs. I did Intermittent fasting and it’s a lifestyle for me.

Multiply the pounds to lose by the number of calories in a pound of fat: 10 x 3,500 = 35,000. Now, divide the total by the days you'll diet: 35,000 ÷ 60 = 583. This is the number of calories you would need to cut down.

Great video! I’ve been setting up televisions in the waiting rooms of doctors offices and allowing the doctors to communicate with their patients on there. I would love to use this video in the waiting rooms as well, to help educate the public general health and nutrition. The title slide will of course give you credit. Is that okay if I download this video to use please?

This plan works for everyone: Breakfast, fruit smoothie. 1 Banana 6 strawberries 6 blueberries 6 blackberries 3 tablespoons of oats. LUNCH, 1 grilled chicken breast with 1 cup of string beans. DINNER, 1 big steak 10-12 ounces or 2 tilapia fillets with a vegetable of choice, no potatoes or carbs!!! Water only!!! Don’t eat anything else!!!! Watch the weight melt off
