I am 33 and I literally have felt my whole life like I was just here to pass the time until I die one day. It sounds so morbid to even say that, but I have lived such an isolated, joyless life. Surely this is not what Jesus died for me to live like. This video has inspired me to take another look and infuse some joy into my life. I cried while listening to you. Years of abandonment and abuse has made it so hard for me to love myself. But through your words, I'm reminded that the Lord knows my struggle and He sees my pain. This is SOOOOOO good! I had to unlearn this. I lived most of my life in a sacrificial state. Completely depleted and running on empty for so many years. So unhealthy. I am grateful for your teaching and the practical wisdom that. you share.

When in college, I had a cassette tape with slow sad songs such as Prince's "How Come You Don't Call Me." If it was a bad day, I put a blue light bulb in my lamp turned on the cassette player. When the tape was done, I replaced the bulb and kept it moving.

At 38 I’m learning to love myself. From my parents, neighbors, siblings, relatives, friends, and foster families I’ve been hurt/abused in every way. I’m struggling today because my Mother doesn’t love or want me around. She almost killed. She said she wish she never had me. No matter how bad my parents abused me I still love them. I have only JESUS and my therapist. If I never received love how do I love me! I’m not living! I don’t know how to live! I NEED HELP!😭JESUS🙏🏽🙌🏽

This is so needed. Sometimes the pride of not wanting to appear weak keeps me all pinned up. I am realizing I dont have a lot of safe people to be vulnerable with...to cry with. Everyone has their own life. I appreciate you bring so candid and real. There will always be needs to be met...but what about church leaders and their needs? I have no family, I am 47 with no husband...and that's ok Thank you for this because its giving me permission to exhale and start paying attention to my own emotional needs. I wont be able to serve effectively until I do. Thank you for sharing 💕💞😿🙏

I can’t remember last time I was happy. But I have a “good cry “ everyday. I lost myself years ago and can’t see myself connecting with my husband anymore. I need to learn to love myself and others 😢

Oh & hello from Port St.Lucie, Florida.... I just moved from Detroit to a coastal town and I love it!!! But no family here yet except my family of 5....trying to make friends here best I can... I love advice of setting the stage and making room to express my emotions from happy to sad.... to not suppress but to acknowledge them.... to make a list of what makes me happy and to do more of that & also make a list of the things I need to grieve and have a time to grieve those things.... I love his becase lol recent Liston to an Audio book call “ Love Yourself as if Your Life Depends on it. ThisCrystal, affirmed that it’s okay to learn to love me. I spend a lot of times in the hospital.. I also have been caretaker for my husband who had a double lung transplant in April. I struggle with taking the time or money to even buy my favorite candle , ifd rather spend any little extra money treating my grandchildren to a Dollar Store run” but I’m learning and I thank you so much for this

Yes laughter is good like a medicine. Years ago we had to ask God to give us a spirit of laughter because my spirit was always grieving for my loved ones. We learned how to pray for them and still enjoying my life no matter how they choose to live their lives.
