I had total cholesterol at 455 and triglycerides at 413. I followed diet and exercise and reduced total cholesterol to 283 and triglycerides to 260 now. I did a LFT and everything is normal. I am taking ayurvedic medicine for last ~2 months to reduce everything under control. Can you please help me to understand how my LDL and triglycerides are at high rate even though my liver operates normally? What can I do to bring my LDL and triglycerides under control? Thank you.
@@NoName-bb2pu I was not aware of the seriousness of these numbers. I started getting pain in my heels and under the foot. I suspected as diabetes and did a blood test. Diabetes was in border, but cholesterol rates were very high. Then started diet and workout. 170 Total cholesterol and 103 triglycerides are within the desired range and I think it is good for you now. Lowering cholesterol too much is also not good.
@@chellaperumalg same here, diabetes came out pre diabetic for me, 138, then I cut everything out and in retest after 25 days it went down to 113 and 5.6, now planning to bring it to 80s soon. We have one body and one health, time to tune up as Im also soon to be 40. Ps I'm Tamizhan too
Excellent information, thank you! I do follow these rules but do forget and deviate at times. Watching videos like these helps me to stay on tract. Keep them coming please. Are you able to make a video on pancreas and how to protect from pancreatic diseases please? It will be super helpful as there seem to be an increase in pancreatic cancers these days. Many thanks. PS. When I eat something fatty I follow with a big teaspoon full of powdered fenugreek seeds and drink a whole glass of water. Or eat an apple after a gulabjamun. Fenugreek is what I prefer.
Despite popular belief the "cholesterol binding to fiber thus preventing absorption" is actually not the main driver that lowers blood cholesterol, its an oversimplification, the big effect is in the "enterohepatic circulation", its pretty complicated to explain if youre not already well-versed in biochemistry, but here's my attempt at an explanation: The absorption of fat in the small intestine is highly dependent on available bile salts and bilary acids that contain cholesterol. Therefore there exists a cholesterol/bile acid salvaging process in the ileum where cholesterol and bile is reabsorbed. This process is called the enterohepatic circulation and it is controlled by a feedback mechanism where levels of hepatic cholesterol is measured. Reabsorption of cholesterol downregulates the action of 7-alpha-hydroxylase in the liver and thereby production of further bile acids. Since production is downregulated or even stopped completely the enterohepatic re-absorption is driving the hepatic cholesterol and bile acid equilibrium - however some substances in the lumen are capable of disrupting the circulation. Plant sterols and soluble non-starch polysaccarides are able to bind bile acids/ compete with bile acids, thereby preventing their re-absorption in the enterohepatic circulation, leading to an upregulation in the production of bile acids in the liver from cholesterol precursers, which depletes the livers storage of cholesterol. To counter this liver cells will increase their uptake of cholesterol from circulating lipoproteins (that carry cholesterol) in the blood, thereby decreasing plasma cholesterol.
very informative videos and i really appreciate you work. I have question regarding LDL cholestrol reduction and i found from my research that brazil nuts can have direct effect on reduction of LDL cholestrol as brazil nuts are high source of selenium ( found it from a case study which i went through like 4 brazil nuts per month). Is it good to take brazil nuts to reduce LDL cholestrol ? Thanks in advance.
How much total cholestetol is considered high? Above 200? What can we do to increase HDL and lower LDL? Thank you. You are the best teacher. Hope you will have lot of subscribers.
Could you please tell us what natural food or spices can be added to the diet? Coriander, avocado, seeds, nuts and grains. Your suggestion of eggs and oatmeal was very good. Thank you so very much again!🤪

I’ve recently started doing yoga and found your beginners tutorial from 2 years ago and I feel changed. I am definitely going to deep dive and try and “digest” as much as I can. Thank you for giving the Public this information and I will be passing it a long.
Milk in India is not pasteurized, processed? So it is good to drink. But in US, milk is ultra pasturized and processed. So, is it still good to drink milk and kefir and eat yogurt made in USA? Thank you.
Pasteurization does help in getting rid of pathogenic bacteria in milk. But, if you concerned about ultra processing of milk, you could go for raw, organic milk from a trusted source and boil it at home prior to consumption. Same with milk products like kefir, yogurt; go for organic over the conventional types.
Thank you for very simple explanation between LDL and HDL , I have been eating paneer 5 days a week for protien , now I have to stop and look for alterate veg protein.
I would base this decision on- 1) your blood cholesterol numbers 2) quantity of paneer consumed in one sitting 3) otherwise composition of your diet. Thanks for watching the video.
