Grest job!!!!!! I went to my doctor around six months ago I had always had high blood pressure when I tested it myself and I just couldn’t get it down. I combined better diet, a little bit of walking although I should’ve done a lot more, supplementation and a lot of meditation. First went into the office I was very nervous had a reading of 180/100. Dr was worried and said it’s too high. I told him doc let me relax a little bit it’ll be down later. Did my breathing exercises which Dr. story helped with my meditation and he took it and it was 124/75 the doctor was amazed he didn’t believe me at first that this could come down

Increasing potassium either through food or through supplements also helps. It eliminates sodium from your body and reduces blood pressure. Also hibiscus tea works but you need at least 2 -3 large cups per day. I usually fill up a large hydro flask and drink it throughout the day. Also the exercise is critical as the doctor said. People with blood pressure need to do this daily. I am 48 and not taking any meds. My parents started on meds in their 30s

The body can respond in amazing ways to the demands made on it, positively or negatively. I am 92 years, in second stage heart failure, never been a sports person but have made a point to make and enjoy my own good food , This together with maintaining a walking routine of 2 kms per day at 11:58 over 4 Km/hr speed. This has not always been possible when poorer health takes over, but one just has to reclaim fitness in a gradual and steady way thereafter

Walking for 2 minutes is nothing if you just get a rescue dog that loves you unconditionally and makes you want to walk it twice a day in all different places to give it a variety of smells and stimulus. Getting a couple rescues is the healthiest thing I've ever done. Now I walk several miles a day and It made me buy a house in the most interesting place for walking which also improved my quality of life. Yay rescues!

This is very helpful. I had done some research on beets and exercise. So far these have actually helped with my blood pressure. I think that instead of planning a workout regime people should just choose what type of exercise to do. If they don’t like it then just move to the next type. No need to stress over it. I personally have picked walking and dancing. I enjoy this type of exercise so much that my stress levels have gone down.

Recently cut out crappy foods by meal prepping and weighing out proteins and carbs to make sure I don’t over eat. I’ve lost 17 lbs and feel great. I’m now reducing alcohol and making sure I get 8 hrs of sleep. I chart my blood pressure twice a day and it’s improved. I’m convinced lowering you blood pressure is not one thing, but a series of things starting with lifestyle habits like staying up late, drinking, eating processed foods etc.

My blood numbers are high. They have been high for over 20 years. One day I began a walk to the store that would take an hour. On the way, I remember that I had an errand to run, so I walked to it. My little walk turned into 6 hours round trip. The last half was the hardest. The next day the numbers went from 150/100 to something in the range of 130/77 ish. I went that morning to the dentist. I walked a little more around the parking lot so that they would see a great number and not panic (I refuse to use the pills so far) and when I got to the chair, boom, right back up to the top. I believe that in my case, my arteries and veins need a good stretching with a good push of blood. So, today, before I watched this, I began a little cardio in the house. Just 10 minutes. Next will be a membership to the gym. Just to get the heart on a consistent up beat several times a week.

Hello doctor, and thank you for your advice. Briefly, in 2012 my doctor wanted to put me on BP meds, I told him I wanted to try and get my BP down without medication. He said in three months come back and they would take a blood test on me. I went back to visit my doctor three months later and I blew his socks right of his feet (lol). My BP went down to 117/79 and everything else was down in the test as well. How did I do it…just as you said doctor, dedication, EATING healthy foods that you cook yourself and exercising everyday may you walk for 30 minutes or 1 hour get the heart rate up. Thank you again.❤

Man this is great stuff. I can thank you enough. I recently got a diagnosed as having hypertension. I sincerely believe it is due to stress. I can benefit from losing weight. But my eating habits are realy good not that bad. I play golf thus walk alot instead of riding in a cart. So I get some exercise. But still my blood pressure has gotten realy high. So I am going to take you advice to work on lowering my blood pressure. In fact I'll write down the thing I'm doing. What I'm eating and how much I'm walking or exercising. Then I'll get back too in about a month. Thanks agian.

Some good stuff here. Not totally convinced that coffee is that bad. Absolutely agree with the detrimental effects of stress. I suspect that stress is a major factor in cancer. I think doctors should pay more attention to stress mitigation and avoiding patient stress as an important aspect of treatment. All screening for whatever affliction itself causes stress, a fact too often ignored. More and more people are realising how bad stress is. I have started getting very bad blood pressure readings and am going to have to work out ways of not getting too stressed about it

I'm 74 and live in Toronto. Walking 12-15,00 steps/day is enjoyable between late April to mid-late October. But the approximately 175 days from November to mid April just cannot be done The biting, cold, ice, snow wind etc. makes it next to impossible. Also Im very high strung/ At my GP & Rheumatologist my BP is eg: 159/103. I went to my pharmacy at asked for a good portable BP monitor. He sold mez the one he uses. So at home, by myself, alone my BP is constantly 118-128/ 77-84.

Ok Dr. Story I’m going to give it a shot. Just a bit about me first. Vegetarian my entire life, until 3 years ago. I am plant base vegan now. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure about 15 years ago and I just can’t get it down. I take Lisinopril-HCTZ 20/25mg per day. I have been told that my high blood pressure is genetic. My mother had a triple by pass and died 10 years later. She was not a vegetarian, nor a vegan plant base. I just came across your channel. I will let you know how I do.

Thumbs up to you! All you say is true and makes a tremendous sense. I fully agree with your points of view. As a matter of fact I find walking very beneficial. Whenever after taking a long walk, I feel differently, have a cheerful and positive attitude. It relieves my stress and anxiety. As you said it calms down my nervous system and it completely eradicates my conflicting thoughts and complaining thoughts which have been dominating in my head. Thank you very much for your invaluable tips and advice.

I'm 75 and used to walk 3 miles a day in Austin in WINTER. In summer, it's too damn hot! After 8 years, I developed the allergy to the cedar juniper trees, which are the apex vegetation in hill country. It pollinates from December to May, when the hot weather starts. "Cedar fever" triggered my asthma and actually put me in bed for a couple days last winter. So I'm trapped inside except for October. My blood pressure and sugars spiked. I'm getting the hell out of Texas so I can go outside again.

I got some of the beet root powder and will be drinking this down daily. It's a hard struggle, I generally have a fruit smoothie everyday and tuna or salmon. Depends, I don't over eat or no processed food either. Stay away from salt to. Just going to keep monitoring my bp and keep trying to live healthier.

My doc told me all that re stress, enough sleep, diet and exercise. I already cycle to work and eat healthily. What dropped my diastolic figure by 5 points was stopping caffeine, salty food, processed food. What brought it down by another few points was magnesium which here in the UK we are deficient in (and other minerals) due to intensive farming. I got this idea from Dr Sanjay Gupta a York UK cardiologist (bless our National Health system!). I also use magnesium oil on the skin and Epsom salts baths.
