Awesome. Can’t wait to put my 6.0 in my 89 K5 Jimmy. I’m jealous of your shop and that fork lift. How can you drive that lift without the police lights on? I couldn’t do it. LOL.
Pretty damn smart thinking - I was with ya - compression all over the place - ring seat issue & stuck valve = she was like a 60 year old woman - once ya get her all lubed up they run like a champ
Great work young man, seeing it in granny gear brings back memories of me picking up hay by myself, a bungee strap on steering wheel, don’t miss that, thank you for your videos, very talented.
4:50 You Not the first person 😒 to do That. Long ago I worked at a oil change for 18 Wheelers. Not me, but another guy, did Not put the drain plug in. We had fresh (new) oil pumped out of a hose. He had so much oil 🛢 😩 on the floor. We renamed that truck EXXON Valdez.
Nice job, really enjoyed the video. Are the exhaust manifolds tight against the frame? I have heard that manifolds from a Camaro tuck in closer to the engine.
Looks good! Im getting ready to swap a 6.0 LQ4 into my 79 K10 ive read alot about people having to cut or replace a crossmember to clear the ls oil pan. did you have to do that? And what motor mount adapters did you use?
To me this is just being lazy and following the crowd. When I built my 55 bel-air everyone said put in a 5.3 LS. I went different and put in a turbo 292 I6 and humiliate LS powered cars all the time
Wow I was actually going to stop at your house this weekend to try to buy my truck back from you but i guess thats not going to happen. I miss that beast! Glad to see you got to the LS swap. Im solid axle swapping my 06 gmc 2500 HD 2wd. I was looking for info on LS to sm456 and there was old blue.
so with stock harness and ecu it runs fine in an old truck? no professional tuning, or aftermarket parts besides a new fuel pump and return line? LS power steering or stock K10 pump? altternator? waterpump?
This video is exactly what is have been looking for I also have a 1984 k20 and have been thinking about doing a ls swap didn't know it was so easy thank you so much man you the man!!!!!!
You made that look easy brother. My old 350 bit the dust the other day and I'm about to either do LS LQ4 or LT1 L86 swap in my 84 C10 step side 2WD truck. Thanks for the video.
Better to just spend the money and get a ZZ4 crate motor w/warranty. A used LS engine out of a junk yard is a crap shoot. You never know what you're getting, and then you have to worry about motor mounts, wiring, PCM and programming. The crate motor drops right in.
Would you do an ls swap for me and roughly how much$$$$$? I bought an 82 k10 that started life as a 6.2 diesel and somewhere along the way was converted to gas (305). I would like to put my'05 suburban 5.3 into the k10. The t5.3 had 250k on it but runs good
great video, good work, just a question, are you really going to marry that space age technology engine to the Mayflower trans? ha ha I had one of them boat anchors and they soooo suck
Quick question if you have a 77 C10 and install a LS engine full injection do you have to smog check it or is it considered a classic car still in nevada
What did you do about the exhaust manifold on the passenger side ? I have an 76 K10 4x4 I did an LS Swap 5.3 / 4L60e and my stock manifold won’t fit because of the ear on the manifold hits the frame and egr outlet that you plugged hits by the motor mount
Hi, looking for some to put a ls into my 87 chevy short box 4x4. I have the engine and tyranny. It's in and running in a one owner 2006 silverado with only 70 miles .
Thx for the video im doing the same thing to my 82 GMC Jimmy this summer tired of farting with the old carborated small block and its tired.. good video
did you have to change the oil pan on any of your k10 swaps? i see some people are swapping to a conversion pan because the crossmember hits? is this necessary?
omg the red and blues on the lift you pull people over and extort them like the gangs in uniform damn boot lickers if ur gonna lick the boot might as well deep thr-oat the boot lol
You need a trolley on a beam with chain fall it makes pulling and installing engines so nice when your a one man show! That jumping in and out of the engine bay gets old!
I must of replayed this video 6 times at the end to try 2 get a good look at it. It looks to me that steering wheel came from 88- 89 Chevy cavalier rs/z24 car look it up on Ebay see if it looks the same to you.
If I Al looking to put a LM7 In a 62 Impala . What’s the hardest thing . I have had such bad luck buying and re building got burned on 5.3 then got burned on a rebuild . Your wall five is a big Gouge in it until I started turning the crank and noticed it so now it needs to be sleeved. Don’t even know where to go so I guess I’m looking for another motor and I spent 3k probably on something I can use
Step 1. Don't. Do something interesting, and hard. Not a jank ass LS swap that everybody who has sexual relations with their siblings does. Not impressive or interesting in the least.
@@piratejetgarage 3 years later she’s finally going in the truck. This video has been my inspiration to get mine going with a lm7. Thank you for you time and video.
And this is why people dislike LS swaps it’s sooo simple to do but hey I think they’re just mad they have to dump $$$ into a high end block only to get gapped by a vehicle with a junkyard LS with a spinny wind Boi on it that they put 1,000$ into lol great job man love it
@@letsgobrandon5622 exactly! It’s just ECU:”hey engine you got power yeah?” Engine:”yeah everything is working” ECU:”Ah cool” Engine:*starts* ECU:”seems like everything is fine” And that’s like the gist of a LS swap cause everything is soooo simple to do and the fact it’s wide variety of power adders for cheap low buck high horsepower performance seems to get on people’s nerves and it always just makes me laugh
How much would you charge for this swap, in another old chevy c10? I realize it can vary, but can you ball park it for me? Trying to figure out how much I should pay, so I don't end up getting ripped off. Just a 5.3L or a 6.0L swap. Taking the tired old 350 out.
I am about to swap my 1987 R10 Silverado with a 5.3L out of a 2003 GMC Yukon. How do I go about tricking the computer once I remove the emissions? Thanks in advance for any details you can share.
Shop wanted $1500 to remove a broken exhaust stud on my 6.0 GM. Instead I pulled wheel, inner fender and my bud (welder) came over and welded a nut (like you) over broken stud. Cost me a case of beer and had a great visit. Worked like a charm. Well done sir :-)
hey im just still learning but i just bought my 81 gmc sierra classic but i wanna swap a 5.3 from a 04 suburban, what would i need to do to the swap? what mounts did you used or trans adapter, do you have any links? im sorry this sounds dumb, im just trying to do my first project truck😂
SOMTIMES I WISH I JUST DID THE MOTOR ON MY K5 . I STRIPPED THE TRUCK 5.3 1 TON AXELS SHACLE FLIP DIY 4X SPRING MOUNTS IN FRONT NEW SHACKLES 400 TRANS NEW FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT WIREING .THIS WINTER SUCKED AND REMINDED ME IM GETTING OLD LOL
Awesome 👏 I have a 83 k20 4x4 just put 2 in rocky ridge lift clutch n 2 new tanks it’s a 3 speed manual with L granny gear I ❤️❤️❤️❤️good luck awesome truck 👍
