In this video, I teach you how to lunge a horse in a round pen! Lunging your horse in a round pen is a great way to work on groundwork and learn how to better communicate with your horse.

The weirdest thing my horse does is when she sees my grooming box, sometimes she will just sniff it, and when im not looking she'll knock it over😂 I loved the video and I am definitely going to try it!

I have only work with horses for a few months. From what I have been told. I'm learning very quickly and the horses I work with have learned to trust me. Those that haven't, new horses on the ranch, take to me and respect me quickly as well. I will never strike a horse and if I need to It will never be with my hands . Personally I believe a relationship built off trust is better than that built off fear. Please, correct me if I'm wrong for doing this. I work with mainly with warm bloods. We may have a thoroughbred come through occasionally but it's not often.

So I like to see a video because you're such a good trainer when could you have a round pen that like the one I'm renting with my horse's Mike yearling who just became 2 years old had a habit since he was little to eat the grass and tried to hurt you when you're trying to round him because our round pants like yours has grass in it

One funny thing my horse does is when we finished cantering or finished a course, he always has to scratch his cheeks on his legs haha. He always bends down when I least expect it sometimes 😂 Also, he always smells my right leg when I’m on him. It’s so cute!

I walk out my back patio and my horse can't see me and i neigh the best i can early in the morning and he neighs back at me...its actually pretty funny.

My yearling listens to woah really well with a lunge line so hopefully that will help when I get my round pen (when I ask him to stop is it okay if he stops and looks at me instead of staying straight on the fence?)

At my riding school I rode a horse named snickers and I was riding home on the ring. So usually I ride a horse named April and I did not know this but April had a crush on smokers and she was outside of the riding ring because none was riding her. So she saw me riding snickers and she came over next to me but on the other side of the fence and she followed me the whole lesson on the other side of the fence and it was so funny I could not stop laughing 😂

Just purchased a used round pen that is 1 panel shy of 40' diameter. I'll get that corrected soon. I noticed that my horse will go around with his nose towards the fence instead of bending with the curve of the pen. He also cuts in to me half way around the circle. Last but most important, he won't join up. If he does come over to me he is not interested in staying with me.I'm grateful for any suggestions.

My horse can't hold his bottom lip up, so it just hangs down a bit and it is hilarious! Whenever he tosses his head his lip just bobs. Since he can't hold up his lip very well, sometimes his tongue will stick out and it is the cutest thing ever.

Thanks Gabriella! He used to be really bad about pulling and eating grass so every time he would try to, I would just lunge him in a circle. Soon he learned that trying to eat the grass meant more work and he stopped doing it

Equine Helper thanks when I lunge my horse in the field I can get her to trot then she eats grass and I use a crop but it doesn’t work and then I taught her to come to me but then she kept coming to me I now lunge in the ménage which my dad made into an area for me and now I am fixing my mistakes

A lazy horse? Look AT THE HOOVES! When was the LAST time they were TRIMMED? If they are "long in the toe" then the flesh is pulling form the hoof wall! Many people "love their Horse" but spend their $$ in the nail salon instead. ---A monthly Bare Foot Trim!! By the way your videos are excellant! Good for you.

The horse should always turn into the middle (not the fence) because two eyes is always better and more respectful than two heels. Turning their rump to you is a sign of disrespect. :)
