👉I brushed past this in the video, but Medium operates on the 80% rule - meaning 80% of your income will come from 20% of your articles. So, if you write 8 articles per month, 1 or 2 will account for the vast majority of your earnings. I like to think of each article as stepping up to bat and hoping to hit a home run. Also, over time, as your library of content expands, you’ll continue to earn more money from articles you’ve written in the past. I have, actually. 😢 This month is really low but it seems as though my new stories are still earning about the same. I think it has to do with how older stories are being distributed which would explain why it's long-time who are seeing decreases. I'm going to experiment for the next few months and see how things pan out when everything settles. For now, I would recommend focusing on engagement and writing stories that could potentially get boosted. I'm making a video on boosting this week. 🙂🙌

I don't, but that's not something I promote on Medium. I do have an online store with free products though, and get quite a few donations there. I think it's all about what you promote and how you present it. 🙂🙌
Every platform is different. But, Medium doesn't deduct taxes -- so, you need to account for your earnings each year. I'm also not the best person to ask about taxes, haha. I have a very basic understanding. 😆
It totally depends on your preference. The pros are that it makes you easier to follow and people will be more likely to subscribe to your newsletter because they know exactly the types of stories you'll be writing. On the other hand, it can feel constraining to stick to one niche. Personally, I don't because I get demotivated and it affects the quality of my writing. But, if you enjoy writing about a specific topic, it's a smart move. 🙂🙌

It totally depends on how often you're writing/how popular your articles are. But, thankfully, you don't need 100 followers to get monetized anymore. You can apply for monetization after you publish your first story. 🙂🙌
I have a question. I dont belong to any of the eligible countries. So if i start writing on medium and move to other country, should i start my journey all over again or can i get payments for what i have written?
You won't be able to get paid for old views. But, once you join the Partner Program, you will start getting paid for any new views you accrue -- even if they come from articles you've already written. 🙂💰

That's great to hear! And, I've never had a month that high, but I know some writers have. To be honest, that would be quite high to earn on Medium consistently. Most full-time writers sell courses or have multiple streams of income outside of Medium. 🙂💰
It's totally up to you! I would, unless you feel like it might hinder your ability to express yourself. But, there are a lot of successful writers who use pen names, so either way. 🙂🙌
i feel it , i mean id use a pen name regardless just to seem more i guess universal cause some people are biased as far as who they'd want too read anything by and who they'd take seriously whether they want to be or not, some of us feel we could only connect with certain types or perhaps they look at certain people a certain way even if it's a sub-conscience thing, so id keep it vague and as ambiguous as possible, but I meant say if you had a brand and you used that do think that would make someone seem ... i mean would it adversely affect a first impression or do you think its the quality of the writing and the headlines that matter so much more that it not even worth asking about?@@hudsonrenniewrites
Yes! There are a few short-form publications that publish short-form articles (150 words or less). My two favourites are The Daily Cuppa & The Shortform. But, you can also self-publish on your profile without submitting to a publication. Nothing needs to be done, just keep it under 150 words (including the headline and subtitle) and it will be considered a short-form article. 🙂🙌

Hmmm, it’s a good question. I think more than anything, it’s the long-time writers who saw the biggest hit. It seems as though older articles aren’t earning as much but new ones earn about the same. In fact, some of my recent articles are earning a little more than usual, so I think only time will tell. 🙂🙌
