Use TP4056, it's cheaper, smaller and more trustworthy. And with the input being 5V, it's much safer too!

This charger will automatically light green when it is fully charged.

The LEDs that were transferred from the chargers are dual color LEDs and will do exactly what you are asking for. Just make your box bigger and line them up with the batteries if you wish.

No. You cannot substitute with mobile chargers because they are not actually "chargers". Regular mobile "chargers" are actually just 5 volt power supplies; the semi-intelligent charging circuitry is inside your phone. The adapters used in the video are 4.2 volt chargers designed for a Li-ion battery.

That is a very good idea. You should use a bigger soldering iron or a spot welder to connect cells, as not to damage the cell.

Remember to get something decent, so you don't overcharge them, as that's the easiest way to set them on fire. Also, don't underdischarge the batteries, you'll cause high internal resistance and unstable battery structure, which may cause spontaneous ignition.
