good video. This is what i do. I have a 2060 super with ryzen 5 3600, old build, and i still play every game that comes out with this method. In the case of red dead redemption i lock it at 60 fps becouse i can actualy run it at 60+. Cyberpunk for example i play at locked 30 fps.
@@khushalkhanmohammadzai8032 Bro, 30FPS is caused by not powerful enough hardware, is not even something good. If you enjoy 30 maybe gaming isn't your thing, even retro games from 80s run at more than 30fps.
@@SweetFlexZ My bad, what in the actual fuck do you mean by "if you enjoy playing on 30 fps, may you don't enjoy games"? This makes no sense, if the guy likes to play on 30 fps, IS HIS PROBLEM. Now... 30 fps is not really a problem in most games, i'ld say that this is just a problem on fighting games and fps games
@@tyrantking222 Can you imagine 30 fps on a racing game and this dude saying: I prefer 30 over 120 Well, an opinion is not always correct, this is his case.
I'm now playing every games at 24 fps locked. With KB and M 💀💀 and im enjoying it.. thanks to RTSS. And warning to every modern gamers ⚠️⚠️ please don't try this until you're brave enough to play at those frames.. try sticking with your 144+ smoothness and thats what everyone will prefer.
Been experimenting with this for couple of years including this method and while it is the best one available it still doesn't always works with Witcher 3 and AC4 being my recent test subjects. Gsync/Freesync might help but for the rest, console 30fps is still often better than PC.
So I just did this and it seems to me that 30fps is not enjoyable with a mouse and keyboard. It is on the other hand very good with a controller because of the inaccuracy of the thumb sticks. Perhaps there is a slightly higher framerate that works better for mouse
@@Vseslik I also think it’s still not the same as console experience because of a tv vs a monitor. I tested this yesterday and apparently most tv’s have a motion interpolation effect built into them to smooth it even further. And I looked it up and there is no option for this on pc monitors it simply doesn’t exist. Which is sad because I really like 30fps I think it feels better than 60’s experience and feels more “cinematic” somehow. but there just simply isn’t a way to get that same feeling with a monitor
Is the " maximum pre rendered frames " from NVIDIA Profile Inspector same as the " Virtual Reality pre rendered frames " from NVIDIA Control Panel or what's NVIDIA Profile Inspector's equivalent of pre rendered frames in NIVIDA control panel
@stefanbogdan1898 well, the solution is quite obvious. Change it in the Nvidia panel. This setting is minor anyway. It won't change much. Just a small performance improvement with a little cost of input delay.
So I don't need resolutions like 2k and 4k, 1080p is standard for me and ray tracing is always off because I can't stand ray tracing at all, regardless of the GPU, I always have the fps logged at 60
@@Vseslik thanks for your respond And i just want you know if have activate d3d12 i must desactivate rtss so the loading time dont take 4 minite do have the probleme as me
i saw some posts saying that dividing ur exact "60 hz refreshrate" by 2 and putting the result in RTSS would achieve better input latency , what do you think , should I do that or stick to solid 30 FPS ?
There would be no vertical synchronization then. Say hi to screen tearing. As I said, you trade smoothness for responsiveness. Anyway, the input latency at 30 fps is already terrible so there's nothing to worry about imo.
@@Vseslik alright , thank you a lot , i was waiting for some time for somebody to post about the "30 FPS Smooth on PC " topic and hear new opinions and way to do it , all the time I couldn't decide to one method cause all of them were simillar but in the same time different from many people , but I will stick to the one you showed in the video
@stefanbogdan1898 for the record, I tried it without vsync when I didn't know how to set it up properly. You can also try, but I don't think you're gonna like the result. At this framerate, the screen tearing is insane, totally unplayable. Even 60 fps without vsync don't look smooth. No vsync only starts to shine at higher framerates like 90 fps+ and above.
Hi! I tried this on my laptop (RTX 2050, I5 - 11260H) and that really works, but there is a problem. When I rotate the camera with my gamepad, all the objects twitch. At 60 fps everything is nice and smooth, but at 30 fps everythibg looks smooth too, but objects twitch even though I use motion blur. I tried this in The Witcher 3. Maybe I should try playing on the monitor and not on the laptop?
@@Vseslik I've already tried this. I also tried scanline sync x/2 and it just removed input lag, but the objects are still twitching. Now I'll test how the game looks at 30 fps on TV. I'm from Russia and it's a little bit hard for me to write in English. Do you know Russian or maybe you are Russian?
This guide is only for Nvidia owners. There surely must be a way to activate the same setting for amd. Search specifically for the amd half-refresh rate and other vsync options. It might be even easier for you since Nvidia hid those options for users.
@kotko735 you said you disabled vsync. Make sure the in-game vsync option is disabled and enable half-refresh rate in Nvidia inspector. Your monitor's refresh rate will be divided in half if set up correctly. Check the in-game resolution as well. What is the game in question? Does it run on directx? Are you looking for 30 fps?
