Thanks so much bro. I plan on keeping this build for the long haul. Good luck with your build! Some people will definitely tell you building this car is a bad idea or it doesnt make any sense but thats exactly why i love it. Nothing like seeing the car you love making dumb power haha
@@zyacub4008 dude seriously I’m doing a build right now that’s capable of 1000whp ecoboost mustang using a custom spec darton sleeve ST block , and 4port head. With a 72mm turbo.. and people been hating so bad!! They just hate and hate , and say how bad of an idea it is and how it will blow up etc! Well the 2.0/2.3 ecoboost platform is well proven and many STs and RS or ecoboost mustangs that are pushing 600whp+ reliably with no sleeves or upgraded main and head studs or nothing like that.
I have a stage 3 build from speed performance. They shipped me the motor built off a brand new 2.0 block (but with the 2.3 head) Stage 3 cams and upgraded pistons and everything that can be done to the motor for 700 plus horsepower. I live in Canada with crappy fuel so still going through the tuning stages off pump gas, but I can tell you it’s pretty wild to get traction, but once you do it’s really fast. Anyone who rides in the focus is ready to tap almost instantly Can’t imagine once I get the E85 tune on there… Running a Precision 6065 turbo 😏
Im at 300whp on a 2.0 fusion (lots of the ST components transfer over) basically just FBO and an E30 tune. It really brings the car to life. Only real difference between both platforms is slightly more torque, 600 pounds and an AWD system. Def recommend if you can do the Ethanol mix
crazy sleeper for sure...beautiful color! one thing I'm surprised you didn't comment on was your PCV set up...i see a vented oil cap...which i heard can cause a mess...I run a Damond stage 1 off the manifold (custom vta), a JLT rear (on the intake), and have a Radium PCV plate with a spare OCC im putting on to also VTA... this is for a BNR71/XDi hpfp set up with a 400-430whp goal... i cant even imagine what your lag is like with a 600hp set up... ive been FBO/e30 stock turbo for years, but all these parts are in the garage and i started the install last weekend. I'm sure mine will be a night and day difference, then to even fathom 600hp in this platform would be just insane to drive at full potential ^_^ nice build, clean beautiful car...ill check to see if you have other videos... i love sleepers and would love to see this thing whoop up on some big powered cars!
Glad to hear you got toughened engine internals/ transmission upgrades. Some make the error to not do this, and find the life of their engine is brought forward rather dramatically!
@Hola Como Estas wrong, some 2.0 builds that are being built the right way and fixing the coolant issue with the block itself actually gives a surprising riability
Nice video man! I'm currently FBO with an e30 tune on my car, I got a 2017 ST. I'm just trying to figure out if I should go with a different car to build or stick with the ST and build that. It's my only car right now, so I don't think it would be such a great idea to BT it yet until I can get another car just incase it breaks down for whatever reason. I've seen people daily their BT ST's with no problems at all, but I don't trust myself. If I can't make it to school/work because I just spent $2k on a new turbo and the car's motor just blew I would cry haha. I can't imagine what I would do then. Other than my situation, great video and very informative. I look forward to seeing all of your future videos, keep them coming!
Absolutely! and i completely understand. My stock motor/2867r setup at 400whp lasted me almost 30k miles before the stock motor popped, but there's really no way to tell. Id definitely recommend having a back up car or a motor on hand in case of issues. As far as modifying this car vs another platform, it all comes down to personal preference. Ive always been a fan of a "sleeper" setup and everytime i do a pull in the lil blue hatchback, an alarm goes off in my mind saying "um this car should not be this fast" and i love it lol... everybody expects a corvette to be "fast", but some of the reactions ive gotten of the st thusfar have been hilarious and priceless.
@@zyacub4008 haha, the sleeper look is exactly what I love about the car. Yeah of course you can get an evo and be fast, everyone loves that. But when your built evo 8,9,10, etc. is beaten by a Focus? They're going to be the laughing stock of it all hahaha. I appreciate the response my man, I'll definitely have to stick with this platform because I know it has so much potential.
@@jimbailey637 R888r's or get some radial and you'll be able to get the power down. Think about all those civics and I'm not talking about the awd converted ones. FWD is definitely a great choice, not the best of course. But still you can make it work
That might change my 13 is sitting 330 and I’m getting an E30 tune to hit that push but if you go big turbo with tune and bolt on your gonna sit above 350 so I’d go for that and call it good
This thing is like nasty as hell man... favorite ST on insta and yt. Simple but rips. Hope one day I can get up there with mine. Stage three full bolt on only fight now.
dude thanks so much!!! trynna keep it simple and sleeper lookin... good luck with your build if you decide to take the power up a notch, and thank you for the support🤘🏼
Your making 460 tops right now on only 26 lbs and only e30. No way in hell it’s mirror to mirror with a hellcat. As an owner of a 630HP focus built by Speedperformance I’ll be waiting for your Dyno video.
yea 630 is crazy! @DAVID CARTER hmu if you ever in Georgia. Youre correct, it’s probably high 400s on 26psi. it’s looking like this turbo will be happy around 550-560 so not quite as much as I’d hoped. still, well over 600hp at the flywheel
@@specter116 there was a dude pushing almost 900 in one of the groups here in chicago. Monotune and other companies make forged drop in engines that can do 500whp+ and another company (speed something 700+) Theres also some fusion owners pushing 700+ on the 2.0 ecoboost (ford parts bin = some pretty cool sleepers)
@@zyacub4008 that’s really reassuring. I have a few guys I know locally who have/had 600+ and they love it but I wouldn’t really know being I haven’t experienced it. But I’m ready!! I might document the build! Inspiration man..
Just gained a new sub! I've got a 14' ST with a 2867 gen 2, stock motor and fuel system currently, plan on doing 4 port this summer. After that eventually build the bottom end and max out the turbo. If I find myself with any questions I'll definitely come your way!
Awesome thank you much! my insta is the same as the channel name if you need to contact me on there. I put a nice hole in my piston after about 30k miles on a e30 2867r setup. Decided to take it up a notch and havent regretted it since! Although, 400whp is a really fun sweet spot for these cars, and after we max this turbo out, ill most likely be driving it on the 420whp pump gas tune primarily.
@@zyacub4008 How many miles did the car have when it blew at that power level? Did it trash the block or was it still in alright shape? I've been wondering about how much I should push it, because I'd ideally like to keep my motor intact until I decide to build it, but as we know anything is liable to happen at that power level.
My stock motor blew a ringland at 125k miles after about 30-35k miles at 400whp. A little scoring on the cylinder walls but nothing that couldn’t be machined out. I actually found a low compression long block for cheap and built that motor on a stand so when mine blew, it was pretty much just swapping the built motor in. Cost a little more but saves a lot of time if you don’t have another car to drive.
@@zyacub4008 I appreciate the info! I do have another car that I daily, so if something went wrong it wouldn't be the end of the world. Picking up a cheap long block out of an escape might be what I end up doing. Thanks again!
If you want to build the motor that’s in your car, it’s definitly safer to do it before damage is done. I have a theory that the only reason my BT setup lasted as long as it did is because I didn’t do it until almost 100k miles. The cylinders and rings were worn enough to slow for further expansion under high boost. I’ve know guys to blow there motors very soon after pushing 400+ so it’s definitely a gamble
Do you have any suggestions if I just wanna get my ST a little over 300hp? I’m not so speed driven but would love to get an extra 50-55hp on top of my stock hp with my existing turbo. Would love to talk shop with you, would you be willing to message privately?
Bjr très belle voiture je suis de l'ile de la reunion elle prend super bien les tours vs deviez bien vous amuser 👍 et c'est qu elle type de turbo svp merci
If you do all of it yourself besides machine work you can get away with around $9k. Not super cheap but I could run a bigger turbo and do a little head work and make 6-650 wheel with the setup. I just wanted a more responsive turbo!
I don’t think anyone has maxed this turbo out yet so I was initially hoping for right under 600whp but it’s looking like 550-560 wheel is gonna be realistic for the g25-660. Stay tuned and we will see what numbers it puts down
I guess we all have a different opinion on the word. “ budget build” . Not hating at all respect your knowledge and love the idea . Would you make a video breaking down all cost including the car itself. I’m very curious as many others I’m sure Thank you for shearing your knowledge
@@zyacub4008 I plan on building mine like you did. My cylinder 1 went out so it’s time to build it and make it better. I’m still on the stock turbo, but at least I will be ready for a BT
Boizzzz y’all are not ready for this build on my ST. 2.0 ecoboost bottom end, and a tubular manifold not from the same cylinder head and no longer controlled by ford 🤭
Bjr je suis de l'île de la réunion je possède un focus st mk3 je voudrais la monter en 2.3 que me conseillez vs pour la forge comme pièce merci de votre retour j adore vs vidéo
Sorry for the late response but you can make more power for cheaper with the 335i! Either one would be fun. I’ve got a couple buddies with single turbo 335s and those things get down
I have a 2018 st1 I'm fbo. For bang for the buck what's the next thing you suggest I do for power? Also I am curious but to lazy to look up the costs of each part. What would you say this build costs all in all?
bang for buck I’d throw a pop n drop kit in the car (rods and pistons), turbo kit, and aux fuel. should be able to make a good 450-500 on stock cams. also would recommend a limited slip diff for traction once you are pushing 400+. it’s a game changer... my whole build was around $9k. if you build the motor yourself you’ll save 2-3k
Youd be surprised. Theres a few guys in my ecostang group with these engines including myself that have much larger turbos and some have a ton of miles amd years on em. A few are at 750+ with pte 6466 turbos
Bogus video, your claiming all this power gain, and we don’t even hear you start the car, or take it for a drive, I have a tuned Fiesta ST on Cobb stage two, same 3” exhaust is yours. Keeping up with a Hellcat, come Man. The Fiesta Flash
Not true. I have the stage 3 SP63 engine amd on my 91oct stock turbo tune (has stage 3 cams) I'm a 400hp and 435tq. My meth should get me 420hp and I'm assuming 450 to 470 tq. When I get my pte5558 I should be around 600wheel with the meth flowing. I'd say that plenty fast for a 4cyl car.
