Ehh. Been to plenty of car fires. An entire engine is going to melt in just as much time as the fire is going to melt through all the clips and tabs holding that on. It’s for sound deadening mainly. Is it made out of a fire retardant material - perhaps. But if the fire is that bad to melt it and drop it onto the engine, your car is already toast. Literally.
@@hereitcomes3229you’re prob right maybes it’s to help contain the fire a bit idk Fire Department opens the hood and the flame doesn’t just blow right up? Idk I’m not a pyrotechnic. But I always thought they were there to help regulate the heat in the engine bay so it doesn’t cool down too fast.
I love the color matched hardware in the engine bay. One thing that’s awesome about these cars is how easy you can conceal everything. If you had a big turbo no one would ever know unless it’s on a lift basically. I absolutely love my st i have a 2016 st2 but i do like the grill on the pre face lift cars.
agreed! I dont volunteer having a big turbo, ppl just assume its the little K03 until they hear it spool or actually try to run me ^_^ I also have a 2016, its an ST1. I really enjoy it and get lots of compliments at the race track and at meets, even at store parking lots kids are always asking if its a racecar XD
I'm new to the channel. I watched your video on how you hooked that ST up. You did a wonderful job, bro1000% I'm picking up a 2015 ST3 next week? Can't wait to share. Definitely gonna have to do my doors like you did. Keep doing what you doing 💪🏾
so I seen the part where you were saying the electronic part will make the BOV go Psh Psh Psh.. my ST has done this since ive bought it and have always thought it's been a problem.. i can fix this issue by getting a diverter valve???
The easy guide is 3inch downpipe catless and straight pipe want more pshhhh get a blow off valve. Getting rid of youre muffler cats and resanator wont hide the turbo sound its faint in the exhuast but once all of that is off you will hear it spool up to about 2k rpms after that you get your exhuast notes and when i say notes this thing will have a few from na to turbo notes in the higher rpms.
Love turbo flutter. From what I've noticed the stock turbo in the st doesn't build boost all the time. This is my first car with a turbo. I want to know how to build boost safe without trashing the turbo and then getting flutter.
Heat tape definitely works depending on which crossover you're using...absolutely no need to use a filter cover or hood, let the air in !! Leave the filter bare open Cobb filters are ok, just ok...green, Dreamscince or direnza are better with the 340bhp tune im running 99ron fuel DV are useless too, forge or turbosmart recirc & actuator on the turbo work so well together with 0 boost loss if you setup right ,dv are loud yes, but pointless really
How did this young guy learn all the stuff? It’s quite complicated. I felt like an idiot listening to hm and I’ve been in the Ford sports cars for the last 40 years.
@@Nickjoenap Good. I subscribed. I currently own two Ford escort Cosworths from the UK. One is not finished but I’m gonna sell them once they’re finished. Take care.
yeah make sure it’s not too tight but just tighter until you hear turbo flutter when revving and letting off lightly. and yeah throttle body spacers do nothing
Flutter is killing your turbo and performance. It's the turbine chopping through the compressed air that didn't get vented. You're better off letting it vent so the turbine can free spin. Then when you get back on the throttle it hasn't slowed down as much and your back in the boost quicker.
