Hey just a word of friendly advice from someone with experience in the subject, E-6000 is really toxic and the micro particles you take in through breathing the fumes and absorption through skin don't break down well in your body, they just continuously build up in your lipid cells, meaning if you get really sick or get in an accident and then end up losing weight, the E-6000 stored in those cells are re-absorbed into the body and can end up causing severe E-6000 toxicity, this can cause liver and kidney failure. I highly advise using gloves, a respirator and being in a very well ventilated room/outside whenever using E-6000. I took the warning labels as lightly as you seem to be and I am now months and months into dealing with the repercussions and it doesn't look as though I'm close to being 100% again.

I really enjoy kumihimo until the dreaded "adding of the clasp"-this always gives me the heebeejeebees-it's usually then when a huge goof happens-like the end of the braid won't fit into the end of the clasp connector, that's my signal to put it down and try it again later. Thanks for sharing this 24 warp pattern with us.

@KellyBellcambridgegiftsbykelly
I think this is great. I have a round and a square pad. My question is about the color work pattern. In the beginning you use blue, purple; red,purple- but for the rest of the two color combo groups you alternate the position of the first color in the lead group to the second color in the next group? I’m writing this before watching the whole video so you may explain it- but I wanted to ask before I forget. Thanks for sharing and happy crafting.

As you were describing how to move the cords, I started laughing, and here's why: your sequence is easier to remember than others I was taught. Translating yours, I get Left Up, Right Down, Turn or *"LURD,Turn"* - it's silly but easy. I was taught to go Top Down, Bottom Up, Turn (TDBU,Turn) by one person and BUTD, Turn (BUTD,Turn) by another. Neither of these is as easy to remember as yours. Thank you!

I think she means "double thickness" - suspect that the disks are all made of the same density material...
@vampybitesss
@vampybitesss 5 лет назад
It's probably the product name Sounds cooler in a pr room then what the words actually mean
@andalouchien
@andalouchien 5 лет назад
Obviously it's not "double thickness" as that would imply either the disk or the slots are twice the thickness of a regular disk, which they aren't Just as obviously, density is referring to the quantity instead of the material itself. Much like "population density", this disk is used for braids of more "thread density"
@vampybitesss
@vampybitesss 5 лет назад
@@andalouchien uh no The "double density" disks don't have more thread slots They're just thicker. Threads will have a better grip in the thicker disk but that doenst mean your braids will be denser. The density of your braids relies on how tightly packed your knots are ...
@beadaholique
@beadaholique 5 лет назад
This Kumihimo Double Density Disk is twice as thick as standard Kumihimo disks. This creates additional tension when braiding Tex 135 S-Lon, #12 pearl Silk, or 30 gauge and smaller wire. Thanks for watching!
@CalMariner
@CalMariner 5 лет назад
@@beadaholique thanks for clarifying. We were just discussing that this makes them double thickness, not double density. I think we've just chalked it up to the alliteration being more sexy for the marketing dept.

@beadaholique
@beadaholique 5 лет назад
Sadly, it is not an even equation. 24 is not divisible by 64. I know it can hurt the brain a little bit. But anchoring it at the dots is an easy way to keep track of the braid as it travels around the board.
@PaulMurrayCanberra
@PaulMurrayCanberra 5 лет назад
@10:33 aren't those blue/purple pairs each around the wrong way? The 32 and the 64. On all the other pairs, adjacent pairs have their outside color matching. The blue/purple pairs break that pattern.
@kevinrobehr5016

That's not a bad idea, I've never tried braiding with masons line but it would probably work well for this application. Just be careful when you're doing beaded kumihimo to match the color of the line to the overall tone of your piece. With beaded kumihimo the line shows through the gaps in the beads, and those bright colors that Mason line tends to come in will show up especially well, so make sure it's a good color.

Lol I do this, but I dont use a disc. I just do it by hand. I'd suggest reversing it every so often so it zig zags up.

I bought a couple of discs and a whole bunch of cording and I have no idea how to do this. I've tried to find RU-vid videos but they are hard to find. I guess I need to buy a book? Thank you for the info.

On Pinterest look for kumihimo patterns, I have the regular 32 slots kumihimo discs but I notice there are no tutorials for a 24 strands or other different count of strands, so I came up with an idea on making my own kumihimo discs base on the count of strands that the pattern is calling for example if the pattern calls for 24 strands, my kumihimo disc would have 48 slots if another pattern calls for 30 strands my kumihimo would have 60 slots, depending on the number of strands double up the slots on your kumihimo disc, there’s lots of patterns on Pinterest that would show you the position of the strands.

Your links for the nylon thread are broken. I can still find them on your site, but I thought you might want to update the description.
