if you mean the faces you may have forgotten to go into face select mode

Remember to select the thing you want to edit before going into edit mode. Then, go to face select mode, which is the third button on the right edit mode that looks like a cube and a square. Then, you will see the faces or cubes.

oh ok! Loop cuts can get confusing as a beginner but you will learn how to use them more as you improve! To get into the loop cut add mode you need to be in edit mode on the object you want to add the loop cut to then press 'ctrl + R'. Then as I demonstrate in the video you hover over where you want to add the loop cut then you can left click to add it!

use OBS studio! Should I do a tutorial on how to get OBS and use it?

you can also add subdivision surface through the modifiers tab like how he added the mirror and solidify modifiers

hm. Are you changing the position or the origin location? Make sure what you are changing is definitely the position

hm. Try adjusting the axis as the default one might not work but the others could work. to do this go to the modifier settings and change where 'X' is ticked to either 'Y' or 'Z'.
