You're right about people loving chicken and dumplings. My son did a stint in Afghanistan and when it was up on his way home his first request was chicken and dumplings, and he wanted enough to take back to the base for the rest of his brothers coming home too. So mommy made a 30 quart pot of chicken and dumplings and he transported them from Iowa to the base in Lejeune.

That pot is amazing and would look beautiful with spring bulbs of Pink and Blue Hyacinths.

I just need to tell you how much you affect some people or at lest me. I lost my mom in 2006. I to this day cry because I miss her so. She was a wonderful woman, person and an even better mom. We did everything together.Then Dad died in 2007. What I want you to know is ; Since I found your videos and started watch hem I feel some time , some how that Mom is with me. My Moms people is from North Carolina. The way you talk and the way you express yourself reminds me so much of you. I know you must think I am crazy and all I want to do is let you know how important you are to a lot of people you don't even know. Thank you for making my lost just a little easier to bare.

Miss Helen, that is beautiful enough for a mermaid’s garden! You have inspired me to make some baskets with some old crocheted doilies and bedspreads I can’t bear to part with. I remember at three years old, in winter, living in a very old log cabin, watching my Mom scrubbing diapers on a scrub board, after she had hauled the water from the crick, and heated it on the wood stove. She had 2 toddlers, and one baby on the way, She hung the clothes out to freeze on the line. She used to make baskets and sew “in her spare time.” Not to mention that she she had never really been well her whole life! I hope I have that vein of steel and strength and determination somewhere in me. If not, as you say, we have the Lord to strengthen us and to make us “wise-hearted” in creativity. It really is good for us to do crafts.

Hey darlin I’m in north Georgia , my grandfather just planted the cane and let it grow . It’s still there 70 years later and has taken over . The winters have never killed it . He controlled it from taking over by mowing it but he had so much ! Those were good memories for me and I loved it
