In this video I show you from start to finish how to make a Bar Bag. (Probably best to watch this on 1.5x speed!)
You'll need a piece of fabric 25x38cm for the body, two circles of fabric with a diameter of 12cm, a piece of fabric 25x12.5cm for the pocket, a piece of webbing 25cm long, a zip 25cm long, a zip pull, and optionally 2 pieces of edging 75mm long and one 50mm long.

Thank you very much for this informative video. It has taken me two days, and four times watching this video for me to make my own bag. I am so excited! I learned a whole lot here (I'm not that good with a sewing machine.). My bag came out very nice, as long as we don't look too closely at how those circles are sewn in... I would post a photo if I knew how. Again, kind thanks.

Hey, great tutorial. Exactly what I've been looking to do, and you no doubt saved me a lot of headache. Leaving your mistake in the video was especially appreciated, as you set a good example for how to work through it and move on. The best part by far is the sound of your machine though. Incredibly soothing.

Superb vid. I've got one of Jon's handlebar bags from about 2015ish. Still going strong. One wrap may not be as strong as it was, but the rest is fine. Rough calc, probably ridden 750-800 trips with it. ;-)

Great video. Thank you so much for the guide. I just made my first bag. I'll need a few tries to get it right. Any hints to settings on the sowing machine? you clearly have a very pro one, whereas mine is a completely normal machine, and sometimes I have issues with the bobbin thread - it makes a mess.. and it isnt tight enough it seems, even though I tighten it, might be the fabric I am using though - I am doing it in a Tarpaulin PVC heavy grade, using a jeans needle and polyester thread. Hope you have a good suggestion :) feel like I've tried all different settings. Thanks!

Thanks! If you separate the zipper before sewing it you don’t need to cut the fabric in two...?

Great video! may I ask you what do you do or what material you use to give sturdiness to the bag itself? any kind of hard plastic liner? so it does not stay to baggy or floffy? Many thanks!

the material used is VX21, which due to it being a medium-weight material tends to hold its shape quite well. I don't use plastic liners in any of my bags, I dont find it to be necessary
