How to make a book by folding and cutting

This video illustrates how to "weave" together a fully functional "slot & tab" book. The process requires no tools. No glue. No sewing. Just paper. I learned how to to do this process by reading a... book, but alas, I have misplaced it and I am unable to provide proper attribution. (Pretty bad for a librarian!) The whole process is pretty ingenious if you ask me.

This is a really cool structure. I teach book arts at a local college, and I'll definitely be including this as one of the introductory structures next semester. I'm always looking for structures that don't require sewing or adhesives, and this one is delightful!

I use it ALL the time. It is great for small, quick, spur of the moment books. They last a long time too.

The length of the line ought to be about 50% the length of the paper, and it should be distributed evenly in the middle of the paper. --ELM

@xxtatibbyxx08, alas, probably not very well. The paper would be too thick for descent folding. You could try using one piece of card stock as a cover, maybe. --ELM

Correct. It would really really difficult to print text and then bind it into a book like this one. I would not be able to do it.

Chey chey I would suggest folding all at the same time. Only make it if you have a handy strong expensive stapler

Thank you for your support, and yes, I often make these sorts of books with more than three signatures, but things begin to get unwieldy when the book is more than an inch thick.
