It's a bit lengthy, but I can really appreciate that this isn't the typical 'make a shape in fast motion and play some random song' tutorial like most of them all are. I like the fact you talked your way through it and demonstrated each and every step :)
LOVE your careful, step-by-step instructions!!! I'm not done yet seeing and following your vid, but it is ten million times better than those videos that just show you how clever they've been, but never show you HOW to make the shape. Keep up the GREAT work!!!
That is not a pyramid it is a tetrahedron since all the sides are triangles. On a pyramid the bottom side is a square and all the other sides are triangles.
A pyramid shape has 1 flat base (whether It's triangle or tetrangle or hexangle).. And has a pointed top.. Formed by the triangular sides meeting at the top.. If the base is triangle, it's called "triangular pyramid".. If the base is a square, it's called "tetrangular pyramid"... And so on.. ;)
Since it seems important to some... 1) Pyramids can have a three-sided (or more) base. 2) A prism would have the same base on the top. 3) This is also a tetrahedron. Great tutorial. Must have taken some time to work this out.
Ok, you are my hero. I have tried to do this one multiple times and never got it quite right and now I can do it without problem. I'd almost given up that it was even possible. Thanks for taking the time to explain it so thoroughly and clearly! You rock!!!
Takes 206 balls, good if you lost some balls you can still make this shape (unlike alot of others), just made it and it's easy as in it's nearly impossible to fail but it takes alot more time than like the cube. Was fun to make though :)
o_O...lol I did not think about that, It seems harmless and i want to impress my friends...The ultimate party trick, no one will see the magnet inside me. I will try it and give an update to my findings.

No the rare earth magnet is strong enough to squish or damage your stomach ehen i was a kid i accidentally put 2 rare earth magnet on my nose and you know what happen

Thank you very much for the wonderful tutorial! I have a very mechanical mind and most tutorials are very difficult to follow because they have their hands blocking the Bucky balls. I have no idea what some of the people commenting are talking about, this was great.
Actually, if you'd paid attention in math class or just checked wikipedia: In geometry, a pyramid is a polyhedron formed by connecting a polygonal base and a point, called the apex. The polygonal base can be any polygon. Joseph Maroo is right that this is a tetrahedron, but a tetrahedron is by definition a pyramid.
nice video it was clear and easy to understand but like everyone i had difficulties , me it was at the end, the very last triangle with the forever alone on top of it, took 10 min on this part for a total of 30 min, thx bud! :)
Cool video, took me awhile to get it. Was able to make a pyramid with a base of 12. Pretty damn big pyramid. Thanks for the vid, couldn't have made it without this tutorial
@stevebelzer Yes it is a tetrahedron, which is a triangular pyramid. A pyramid is any shape with a polygon base and triangular sides. You can make a octagonal pyramid with an octagon base and 8 triangles. A pyramid with a square base is just a square pyramid, but it isn't the only pyramid by any means.
@tcleveland786 A square pyramid has a square base. A pyramid can have any polygonal shape base. The important part of a pyramid is that all of the outside faces (the ones that are not the base) are triangles. You can make a pyramid with a hexagonal base and it's still a pyramid.

well thanks dude,, that has got to be the biggest brain hurt i have had in my short dealings with these mini magnets.thanks for the tutorial and i did sus it out after some practice and i even did it on the 3mm balls and that is a feat in its own. thanks again and i do think these things are good for the brain...... no pain,no gain, cheers!
