Michael, I love your tutorial. I made a snowmen (different) and snowflakes with M&M filled domes for my co-workers and found that is is way easier to fill the candy dome and set it in place on top of the card stock. Then taking my glue gun and putting a bead of glue all around the bottom/edge of the dome. The glue would need to touch the card stock and the edge of the dome. This glues them together. The next layer of card stock is glued around the dome will hide the glue holding the dome in place.
i cut cardstock all the time. specifically 8.5x11. Best advice: Move the design to the box marked 1 on both the x and y axis on design space and line your cardstock in the same position. Works perfectly every time.
#replaysquad Because I need to make so many of these, and I already have 80mm (3.125") clear ornaments in my craft cupboard, I'm planning on reducing the design down to match that circle size (80mm) before cutting out multiples. Fingers crossed! ♥♥♥♥♥♥
They will LOVE them for sure. They are 10, 6, 7, 5, 2 1/2 and 2 so these are perfect! I'll stuff the domes for the 2 yr olds with some non-candy treats :) @@mrcraftypants ♥♥♥♥♥♥
I was excited to try them! I have a few mistakes but they came out so cute!! Thank you Michael for the best projects to do!! Love to all who worked so hard to put these boxes together!!!
I have always wanted to make a candy dome but was worried I wouldn't have the correct file or be able to put it together correctly. These are amazing!!!! I will definitely be making more after I order more domes. Your files, the materials in the Mega Craftmas box, and this video were perfect! Thank you MCP!
#replaysquad Thank you Michael I had to work during the lives so I am enjoying watching and learning from your replays. These is so adorable. I also LOVE all your tips for conserving materials! Thank you for sharing. ♥♥♥♥♥♥
I'm LOVING every CRAFTY minute. I did not know you could drag and reorganize layers once you were in the Make-it Mat screen. That's amazing and so handy! Many many thanks! @@mrcraftypants ♥♥♥♥♥♥
I'm sorry to hear that Connie :(. I'd say just try to use a thicker cardstock in general for something like this so that it has the strength to support the weight of the candy dome and candy.
These designs are exclusive to those that got the craftmas boxes. There are other, free, designs for candy domes on youtube. Be aware, some have an iris opening. A bit harder to make those.
I'm so sorry but unfortunately all of the boxes are sold out :( if you want to get notified next time about mystery box releases or other new products, you can sign up for notifications by going here mcpcountdown.com/
