in a 35l dry cabinet u can even store a 200-600 lens. plus 2 lenses and 1 to 2 body

Humidity gauge is must? I understood high end will promote moisture and fungus, but how does low end hurt the camera?

If you have an oven, you can remove the mostire from silica gel by heatimg them at 120 degrees for around 1 hour and then reuse that silica gel

You can even do that by drying them in a metal plate or pan in afternoon sun. Just make sure not to use gas as knowing temps can be hard, just to be safe .lol

I have bought a dslr in the month of March 21, I am also frm Siliguri. do I need to buy dry box immediately or can I delay the same.

In this season dry box is not needed immediately. Just don’t keep your camera and accessories in a damp room. In rainy season it’s very much mandatory.

Nice informative video. 👍 1) Can I use zip lock plastic bags to keep my lenses there with silica gels? 2) And what if in case silica gels gets expire and lenses are in the airtight box or plastic. Would it make the situation more worst compared to when the gears are kept outside or just thrown in a bag?

Yes you could. Go ahead. When your silica gets expired, heat it in a pan and re introduce the same. It’s much better than keep your gears idle in any bag.

@@Vicky-il5yv Ok got your question. When those silica gels get expired then it will contain moisture within it so I don’t think it’s safe to keep your gears in the same airtight container. It could make situation worse. Though you can measure your moisture content using any digital humidity measuring device.

@@Vicky-il5yv While traveling in high humidity area - 1. Keep enough silica gel pack with you and put that in your camera bag. 2. Temperature shifting is the main factor in those areas so you should keep your camera bag in open air or near sunlight before and after shooting for temperature adjustment. 3. You can dry your gears with an absorbent towel.
