Thank you so much for the tutorial and pattern. I just finished making the apron for my 2 year old granddaughter. She was born about this time two years ago. Her Birthday is today, June 18th and we are having a party for her this afternoon. She is getting a little kitchen with dishes and play food and I thought I need to make an apron, little pot holders and kitchen towel for her new kitchen. Again thank you for such a good tutorial. Those shoulder seams worked great!

How DID you know? I've been wanting to make a reversible adult-sized apron that has a similar pattern as this but is for one fabric and has bias binding (which I didn't want to do in this instance). Your magical instructions of how to connect the shoulders will make this possible. The suggestion to test the connection with safety pins first will be so helpful. Your instructions to add a small section of fusable interfacing on both sides where the button and buttonholes will be as well as the right kind of buttons and snipping the curves are good reminders for this apron and other projects. This is why I love watching your instructions - because I can apply your tips for other applications too. And then to put the cherry on the top you offer a free pattern to your viewers. I love unexpected Christimas gifts like this one! You are appreciated. Here's an idea I heard many years ago (sorry, I can't remember the source). The idea can be used as another reason to make this small child apron / craft smock for a boy or girl. It's useful for expectant mothers who already have another child that the apron/smock would fit. To help welcome a new baby, the mother tells the pre-schooler (a "little white lie"?) that the baby said it was looking forward to meeting their older sister/brother and wanted you to have this gift. Actually, you could use this ruse for any gift for the older child from the baby-to-be. But wouldn't this be a sweet add-on gift in addition to a baby blanket/quilt/shower gift for the mother to-be? You could make some matching fabric baby bibs or even simple burping cloths or diaper changing pad if you didn't have time for a baby quilt/blanket..

I am going to use this to teach my daughter & 6 yr old granddaughter to sew. Do you have this pattern in an adult size or can it simply be enlarged on a printer?

thank you for sharing this with us, and providing a pattern! I was having a thought about the flat buttons. If that is the only buttons you have on hand, perhaps a pair of smaller buttons could be used between the big buttons and the fabric? Just a thought :)

I am going to make this for a 2 year old and it sure seems like the shoulder seam are awfully wide for a little gal. Is there a way to make it smaller? Will it work if I just reduce the pattern on the copier. I don't think that's the way to go here.

Hi.... Thank- You for the pattern But Sorry... It did not work for Me.... Can You provide the Measurement in INCHES from the Solid line on the FOLD LINE May be I may be able to align it that way. Or do you have another PDF file than the one provided in the bottom?? I tried printing and piecing this pattern 5 TIMES in every shape and form from the PDF file you provided and for the life of Me nothing matches. This file is scanned incorrect ... and when it prints it doesn't look like the one in your Video.... there are missing SQUARES/RECTANGLES that are to match each sheet with the others ... Also when I attempt to match them( available squares)... the Cut Lines then Do Not Align properly.... I Gave Up! Sorry... I'm a computer Savvy person so it's Not Me..... It's the file. Is this the only one you have? It is a Lovely Apron... and I Thank-You for sharing it with Us... But It's a shame to have all this done and No one can re-create it.
