1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup Mayonnaise
1 cup water (I used black coffee)
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 cup baking cocoa powder (I used Hershey’s Special Dark Baking powder)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine water, Mayonnaise and sugar. Mix well. Add flour, baking soda and cocoa powder. Mix well. Add vanilla extract. Mix well.
Pour into baking pan. Bake in a conventional oven at 350°F for 35-40 minutes.
Insert a toothpick to check for doneness.
Cool completely.
Dust with powdered sugar or ice with your favorite icing.
